PL Gameweek 1 | 16/08/24 - 19/08/24

It's taken Slot x weeks to get Liverpool playing good football but Hag can't get United playing after x years.

Feel free to copy and paste that with the right numbers
I will say in Ten Hag's defence, Slot has inherited a far better team. I don't think he'd fare much better with the squad Ole built.

It's true. Benitez drew away at Spurs, Hodgson drew at home to Arsenal, Dalglish in his second stint lost away at Blackpool, Rodgers lost away at West Brom, and Klopp drew away at Spurs.
Found it by a simple check of the wikipedia pages for the seasons they hired each of those managers.

I considered checking it but couldn't be arsed  kudos for your work.

There is an image which accompanied the tweet with each managers first results but that could have been a lie too.

*credit for this goes to Liverpool's infallible backroom staff

Won't hear the end of the Slot media loving until they drop points, Davis totally lost Salah for that first goal and that was the turning point. Just had to be those scouse feckers dropping us to second didn't it.

I’m starting to think you’re a troll account. Why do you only every post purely negative comments on United?
I don't, that's just what you chose to see.

I was full of praise for Ten Hag's first season. Last season was a complete disaster and it will take me some time to warm to this manager again.

I wonder if some in here actually support Utd, the amount of arse kissing the scouse mob are getting

Good football? It took them 63 minutes to register a shot on target against newly promoted Ipswich

This piss poor Paddy Power wind up seems to have got into some people's heads.

Tbf only one poster seems ambivalent about who he supports. The rest of us still want the RAF to bomb Anfield

Christ some of you lot need a head wobble. Did people really think that Liverpool would collapse to being trash when Klopp left simply because he left. They have a great team that has been playing together for years.Come back in a couple of years when Salah, VVD, Alisson etc have moved on and he has to do some hard work.

Trying to figure out which 3 o'clock is going to be a decent watch. All seem crap

Only on the caf will you get such knee jerk reactions on the first day of the season

To a newly promoted team no less.

Do you not remember how Utd collapsed after Sir Alex left? Liverpool wernt that good last season and were snatching points from games they should have lost like Newcastle away, City away, Wolves away, and benefitting from a ridiculous amount of VAR decisions going their way like Fulham at home when they should have drawn but VAR ignored a clear foul on the defender and let TAA's winner stand.

If we produced that first half against Ipswich, the biggest ETH outers would've been out in full force within a few minutes.

Interested to see how this new coach will do at Brighton, and what we should expect next week against them.

I absolutely hate Clinton Morrison, can barely speak, has zero intelligence, adds feck all to any conversation, is a proper gobshite who loves himself, thinks he's young and hip. Absolute knob of the highest order. Makes Merson look competent.

Horrific looking injury for Danillo. Hope it's not as bad as it looked.

This feels like a typical Arsenal game over the last few years. Completely dominant with an air of inevitably about the first Arsenal goal.

Which is why £20m for Delap is terrible, much better off finding a real attacking prospect and hope that even if they go down, they can groom him to go back up. Signing a 1 in 5 Championship striker ain’t it.
Exactly Delap wasn't even good in the championship why the hell did they think he was a good option to have in the EPL?

There's something shady about that deal.

He was the worst striker I saw at Preston and his competition was Evans, Cannon, Parrott and Riis

Everton could be up vs Brighton with a little better finishing/crossing - they are so vulnerable against these long balls.

mama there goes that man again. Kai havertz beautiful header
