The club are just so small time and silly really aren't they?

3 hours ago, the board says hes not for sale at any price.

Klopp tells reporters that Coutihno has a back problem and he's continuing to be a professional.

Hours later, the player submits a formal transfer request!

To me it all looks very small time and apparent there isnt any communication between the owners and the player! If anythig the owners are very out of touch with the cureentngoings on at LFC and now they look more silly.

Liverpool are and always will be a selling club, Torres, Alonso and Suarez to name a few.

The best thing LFC can do now is get 95million for him and buy a couple of decent players before the window ends. Prices will be higher and clubs will know LFC are gonna try replace him ASAP so they can name their price. This should of been sorted weeks ago.

Anyway its their year and their gonna walk the league!
Who says the player is listening?

Should just sell him. He's nowhere close to the level of Suarez, who was irreplaceable. The owners should take the ~£90m for him and laugh all the way to the bank.

But we were looking to spend money on Keita & VVD anyway. What are we going to do with another £90m ontop of the money we were hoping to spend on them two? Spunk well over the odds in another Andy Carroll type signing? (I know you guys n gals would love that )

He knows if he doesn't go to Barca this year there won't be a next year.

He isn't that good that they are going to leave a space for him their squad for next season.

If they don't get him now, they move and get someone else and the opportunity for him is gone.

If we were talking about a Ronaldo or a Neymar, or a Bale, then yes if you had an assurance there would be no hassle next summer with the transfer you would wait, but he isn't, he isn't half the player of any one of them is, so Barca aren't going to kick their heels for 12 months waiting for him.

It's now or never for him.

Liverpool handled this stupidly.

Coutinho was always going to force the issue.

Why would he want to play for Liverpool when he has the chance to play for Barca?

The offer they got was more than fair as well.

You haven't actually bought those players.

Agreed. He's been offered the chance to play alongside the likes of Iniesta & Messi for one of the greatest clubs in world football. I also thought he'd still be here until next year, but hey, he's done nothing but act brilliant in his time here, and I wish him nothing but luck if he does end up moving on.

Also, if I recall correctly, doesn't handing in a transfer request mean the player doesn't get a percentage of their transfer fee?
They generally give up any loyalty bonus they would get for reaching the end of their contract, so yeah it could be several million he's giving up. No doubt Barca will make up for that though in his signing on bonus.

This window is crazy, Lukaku signing that looked at the time a bit high is now sort of working out as youd expect post Neymar. Coutinho will go for around 100 million because of they buying club having a ton of cash, and if Lukaku scores 25 plus again then it will look like, and its crazy to type this, but a decent bit of business....at 75 million...what?

But the money was seemingly there to do so. So either we had £100m+ spend and the sale of Cou will leave us with £180m+ to spend, or the owners have played us all for fools and signing VVD/Keita was never going to happen without the sale of our talisman.

Who do Liverpool think they are? After they tap up VVD they're stance on Coutinho stinks of double standards.

VVD wants to come to Liverpool as they are bigger than Southampton, Coutinho the same with Barcelona.

Barcelona is one of the elite clubs in world football, Coutinho will be a fool to turn that down to stay at Liverpool.

Liverpool will get a mega fee, I don't see the protraction on they're part. It's going to happen

Seems it does not matter a club says anymore. Media will just ignore it. A player could literally die and ten minutes later Sky would Tweet: Player no shows training. Deal not DEAD yet.

How can you not? We. Don't. Need. The. Money. Why would we weaken ourselves when the season is already started, knowing we probably can't even find a proper replacement for him?

Remains to be seen whether you will have a choice though - looking less likely by the minute.

A transfer request doesn't create a legal obligation, it's basically just a player publicly saying he wants to leave.

Seems like a like from Coutinho's people, he might intend to hand in a transfer request but Sky may have jumped the gun a bit.

What this British obsession with written transfer requests? Everyone "knew" he wants to join Barca, what does a piece of paper change about the situation?

Hope he stays
Who would you like to see the club sign? Eriksen?

Just means Coutinho wouldn't get a sum of money for loyalty bonus or whatever when transfer happens with added bonus of pissing off Liverpool fans.

Sky talking bollocks imo. No way I believe them over journalists who are trusted for the club, just like we have ours.

I want to believe though!

Eriksen is a good shout. I think he's the better player. Although dealing with Spurs wouldn't be any easier...

What's the point in keeping a player that doesn't want to be there? They usually end up playing like they can't bothered.

I just got banned from one of those silly banter pages on FB for giving it large to them, they usually cry racist or deathmocking when banning people but I done nothing of the sort, they cannot handle that their little magician is desperate to leave :lol::lol::lol::lol:
