If this is true then it's quite obvious (if it already wasn't) that Jose is slowly but steady getting rid of deadwood.
He's still young enough for CB to make a decent career, but coping with so many injuries over the years didn't do him any good.
I really liked him as a player when he first signed for United, seemed like he has everything in his locker to make it here, but injuries aside, he's shown little progress over the years- constantly having problems with positioning which led him into making last sec tackles (for which he would then be praised when something like that shouldn't have happend in the first place), his passing didn't improve and he was easily bullied by opposition players, everything opposite of Smalling who made necessary step up in his game.
Wish him all the best in making a name for himself in the game, with hope he'll get his injuries problems behind him.
