So first you ask us not to talk about it, then you ask questions?

Fifa has plenty of tricks that arent in Pro Evo.

And its the gameplay thats better in this new Fifa than Pro Evo. Of course the graphics and presentation is better, thats been put to one side for years now. But you can actually play football the way football is played.

In Pro Evo you cannot play a long ball up to your front man who will hold it up and bring other players into play. The ball rockets through the sky at a million miles an hour and is headed away time and again. You cannot control the first touch - everone's first touch is perfect to control the ball, although sometimes you would want a heavier touch to move into space ala real life. No such option here.

All the passes are strongly weighted with no effort needed, just the direction. Somehow nobody ever miss-hits a shot and they all fly at full power too, no matter the distance.

The game takes no skill, but you can score some great goals. Thing is any great goals you can score on pro evo you can score on Fifa, though its much harder and therefore more rewarding.

Also the defences are awful including the goalkeepers. The attacking play is great, I cant tell you how many times I've come forward and 3 or 4 of my men are making excellent runs through the opponent's shoddy defence and that defence are just dumbstruck. With the touch of one button I cut them wide open on the highest settings. It makes for great, easy football but it isnt at all realistic. It's like Manchester United playing a group of toddlers from pre-school - As classy as the goal may be, thats just not realistic. And if you dont mind that fair enough but I do.

There's also no faggots running around the pitch looking like child molesters. Nobody runs like that. Nobody in my team anyway...

One of the previous Pro Evo versions (must have been 3 or 4) also had the problem of being far too fast. In the next versions they slowed it down and sorted it out. It's bizarre that they have now made it stupidly fast again, as it is also bizarre that upon moving onto a next gen console they have taken content OUT rather than put it in. Less editing options, no PES shop and everything except the gameplay and the things taken out has stayed the same since the last version.

In truth, for every improvement in this year's pro evo there was something taken away. It's not much (but is slightly) better than the last Pro Evo let alone the new Fifa 08. It's a decent game in its own right, it just isnt a football Sim like Fifa 08.

where have i said the graphics is the difference?

-Pro Evo has slow down on corners and other packed areas of the pitch, which shouldnt happen in this generation, and replays are unwatchable, fifa has nicer graphics yet has no slow down.
-Online play is completely unplayable, Fifa's is fine
-The players still look stupid when running, especially as the game is generally too fast and their legs seem to move extremely fast, i had lee bowyer look like Henry with the pace he had in a game earlier.
-The squads, especially international are rubbish, i know it can be changed, but not having Joe Cole or Hargraves in the england squad to begin with is stupid and Ronaldinho not starting for brazil.
-The refs are still shit, give awful decisions when you clearly get the ball
-Keepers are still rubbish, even on the highest difficulty they still manage to let the ball in too easily and spill it, and the cpu computer if passed to by defender seems to run about 10m nearly every time for no reason.
-You can only create 8 proper kits on ps3 version by scanning images in
-The Grass looks no different than PS2 version.
-Dribbling past people is too easy due to the stupid defence AI


im not saying Fifa is perfect, because it isnt, but its better than Pro Evo this year in Gameplay, and when you add the better graphics, chants, commentary, more modes, more leagues, players, teams, better online features, Fifa is further ahead than it ever has been.

Fifa has been catching up in recent years, yet Pro Evo has pretty much stayed the same or gone backwards.

Have you played both this year? I have, and whilst FIFA has made improvements over the system, copying Pro Evo incidentally, the gameplay in PES is still better IMO

Every year with fifa, there are those saying that this year it is finally better than pes. I then buy the game to see what the fuss is about and am left very dissapointed.

The only thing they changed, that PES has, is that L1 changes player. They also made R2 run, I don't see PES with that. So to say that that shows that they know that it is crap themselves is utter bullshit.

so what if the controls are more like pro evo now? thats a good thing, as i prefer those controls over what fifa used to have. atleast Fifa is adapting for the better, Pro Evo is frozen in time.
 
Pro Evo had a shooting meter way before FIFa did for starters. So yeah, FIFA do know they're crap.

FIFa has been changing their control schemes. On 07, it introduced a new digital or analog dribble which had sprints on R1, switch players on L1, shooting on square, through pass on triangle and lobbing on circle. Now what game is having and have been having that same exact control scheme since the early Winning Elevens................
 
How is it adapting when the gameplay is still crap??? Thumbs up for the graphics though, very shiny!!! The kids will like it.

PES is fun, I'm not denying that. If you simply want to have a laugh and play a simple game, PES is the way forward. But if you wan't to actually play a game that resembles a real game of football, then Fifa is the one for you.

You obviously like to play simple unrealistic games, which is fair enough, but I like something more sophisticated, where I actually have to think about what I'm doing, rather than just give it to my fastest player, and run round everyone.

Yes I bought and played both as I do every year. Pro evo has been the better game since it came out and I've been a big fan since the 2nd version. I even worked at E.A games a few years ago and submitted a list of things Fifa could improve upon to catch up with Pro Evo. Until this year it hadnt. It improved a lot with the next gen version - but it just wasnt fun in my opinion. But I could see a lot of potential from testing it.

Now Pro Evo has been stripped down to its bare bones and its hardly improved overall on the previous release - Fifa has sorted out a lot of its problems, especially the fun factor and overall offers quite a bit more than Pro Evo.

But the main factor is the gameplay is better than Pro Evo, which hasn't ever been the case before.

You arent very clever are you? It was another option - just like Pro Evo should offer Fifa controlls, but because it offers very little - it doesn't. That's okay though, there's plenty of other things it doesnt offer which are more important to its downfalls, like realistic gameplay or the fact every player is on crack running about like a loony.

The same former Fifa fans who couldnt accept that Pro Evo was better for years have finally realised PES was the better game and now they are doing exactly the same thing this year not being objective. Pro Evo was better because it pushed the boundaries and offered something Fifa didn't - E.A finally got their clue and made a decent next gen version. With this year's release it is now Fifa offering things Pro Evo doesn't and they are pushing the boundaries. And it's the same people no doubt who won't get with the times and acccept what the better game is :wenger:Sheep.

Plays like real football??? That is the biggest load of crap. There is a reason why a lot of people play Pro Evo, dare I say even more than FIFA?? It's because of the gameplay. People go for FIFA for the graphics and the real jerseys and all that. The fact that FIFA even included the previews before the games shows that as usual, FIFA much rather concentrate on crap like that than to actually fix the very crappy gameplay.

If that's how you play Pro Evo, then it really shows that you are crap at it. Play it to the fastest player and run??? There are reasons why there are buttons for passes, for one-twos, through lobs and through passes just as there are double up marking and backward joggins among others to mark those fast player. You're just crap at it and judging by your passes, I can see you being beaten by a lot of fast players hence your frustrations with them, cause well, you're just crap in the game.

Don't feel bad though. Not everyone can master Pro Evo because it's that damn good. Give FIFA to a new player, it'll be piss easy because it's that damn bad.

Was never a FIFA fan. Only played it because there was noother option then and was never hooked on it. Got introduced to Winning Eleven/ Pro Evo and neevr looked back. I only buy FIFA because the games are that damn cheap here.

He had it done to him actually, by the CPU. He must have been holding on to the triangle button and had his keeper come out so the CPU can just get in those 'screamers' or so he says. Never had it done to me though nor had I done it to anybody. Because there is no such thing. Just some makebelieve stuff that the FIFA boys create.

I just tonked one of your buddies 5 - 0 in my first online game. The warping around the pitch was a bit odd, but not as odd as one of your PES fans playing Hargreaves in central defence (I guess he doesnt rate Vida) getting 2 players sent off and giving away 2 penalties.

He was however quite good at dribbling with O'Shea from his own half.

So what does the fact that the guy you play with plays Hargreaves in central defence has to do with you thinking the gameplay is bad?? It just shows that he is crap and lack judgement. Vida is slow in the game, as he should be but he has awesome defensive stats and heading stats, so if the guy knows how to work a slow defender, it wouldn't be a problem. In spite of idiots like you banging on about how speed controls the game in Pro Evo, that is a load of bollocks. the Barca front 4 is quick but if you know how to defend against quick players, you won't have much of a problem. Double up, defend deep or back up even then put the tackle in at the right time. You manage to win against a crap player proves that the game is bad then?? A load of bull If I ever saw one.

360. Not mine though. Was over at a cousin's house for a couple of days. Played it there. Have it on PS2 as well. Played a few times, chucked it away.
