Scored an amazing long range free kick with Gary Neville, well inside my my own half, just lobbed the ball up random but it breezed over the defence, bounced over the keeper into the net. Course that was entirely my intention

Is it me or has the game been 'dumbed down' a fair bit? It's easier to score, to pass (especially lofted through balls), to get a shot on target . . . et al. This is why I don't buy FIFA to begin with: it's too easy - why would they want to become FIFA? *Worst in the series, by far.

Pro Evolution Soccer creator Seabass has spoke out about his disapointment with PES 2008, and how he and his team will be going back to the drawing board for PES 2009. In an interview with PSM3 magazine (latest issue #95) he said of PES 2008…

“It’s so far from what we wanted. In fact, we thought about delaying it but different factors meant we had to [release it]. As a developer, we’ve worked the same way since the days of the SNES. We’re simply not set up for multi-platform development”.

Looking ahead to PES 2009 Seabass commented…

“PES 2009 is in development, but after hearing the criticism, we’ll be taking it back to the drawing board. It might not be next year, but it will be soon.”

You'd be angry if all you wanted to do was win your first game of the season after about 5. Especially when you are newcastle with all the shit default players. Even more so when you're playin Besiktas at home and all you want to do is see who your own men are, but nooooooooo, you can't.

Thought i'd bump this thread to give some updated opinions.
Having played on it for quite vast amounts of time at a mates, i have found it to be so inferior to Fifa to the extent that it's almost amusing.
I mean for feck sake. The Pro Evo brigade can't even harp on about gameplay anymore because it just gets boring quite quickly. You can go past players so easily with even the most technically inept players that it just doesn't feel as good as it should do when you skin someone. You can also still score ridiculous goals with ease, with players like Rooney and Adriano.
The most ridiculous thing of all though is that 2 out of 3 through balls you attempt will be completely defence-splitting, Maradona-esque passes.
What the hell have Konami made this year?

You know I agree with the above but then I have only played them both on the PC and not the consoles, which are probably better, certainly the case I found for the previous Pro Evo.

Fifa has improved so much in my view compared to the last few I've played excluding 07. It has got harder and has better gameplay whilst to me Pro Evo has gone backwards in both of these.

I only play the friendly matches against both computers and humans and don't bother with the full on league/seasons... I haven't read the whole thread either so you probably have covered most of this.
