He's a fantastic young talent but the wages he wants and the fee are getting crazier, at this point I just simply don't want him in the PL, he can go to Catalonia and play with The Cannibal, the Hobbit and the Brazilian Rhianna.

Makes you wonder what wages will he demand when he is in his prime and actually one of the best players in the world... Probably Ronaldo's wages x2.

You mean Bieber.

Sport should be banned from here....They are the same as The Metro. In saying that I think Pogba is the new Zidane an I just hope to God that Viera does not convince him to end up at City which for some awful feeling I think he will

Yeah if he wants to earn mega bucks for the next 2-3 seasons before a glamour club move City is probably the place to head. They will probably make him the third highest earner in the world behind Messi and Ronaldo.

I think you may be correct. Pogba's move to Juventus was allegedly on the advice of Viera who of course played there. And as that didn't work out too badly for the lad he may well listen to his idol again about moving to City. Plus, of course he would get to play alongside another of the players he looks up to, a certain Yaya Toure.

Of course it may all be wishful thinking on my part but I think this lad will be playing in sky blue next season.

I'd pick the opportunity to play with the best players and win trophies over the money City has to offer. If it doesn't work out at Barca then there would be no shortage of clubs trying to sign him up anyway.

Especially given the sums of money we're talking about. Not sure what the latest figures being banded about are, but if Barca were going to pay me £200k per week, I don't think I'd be too worried about missing out on an extra £50k per week from City (half of which would go on tax anyway).

People need to add far less significance to the 'City will offer him lots of money' argument. An absolutely obscene wage will be on offer at all of his serious suitors, whether City, United, Chelsea, Real, Barca or PSG.

The economic conditions will be similar, he will end up going to the team he wants to play for, and whoever that is will make him very rich.

I'm sure our very own super-galactico Ballon D'or contender Wayne Rooney is there or thereabouts too, depending on what reports you chose to believe. Not to mention Zlatan in Paris.

Right I had a bet at 9/1 that Pogba would sign (not necessarily move this window) to Barca by the 3rd of September on SkyBet.

Do you guys think this would count?

Isn't Laporta been banging on that Pogba will sign if he's the next President? Kind screws up his election campaign now.

Would have preferred him to come back to us, but at least this keeps him away from City/Chelsea.

Glad he is going to Barca. Was seriously worried about him joining City or Chelsea. Hopefully we may even be in with a shout of signing him again if all was to go tits up there.

How is it corrupt?

Like he's going to sign for those lot when Barca are interested. They were living in a fantasy world.

It's corruption because bribery didn't convinced Raiola to send Pogba to City.

You have to wonder why officials seem so willing to pose for a picture on such a sensitive topic given how easily his price could be pushed up by other clubs. Every move is a piece being moved on the election board right now.

I dont see how he is going to improve barca. Anyone want to help me out? Couldn't be a more opposite player to xavi or Iniesta.
They don't have Xavi or iniesta to play the tiki taka style, and instead have evolved to a more direct 433 to rely on the front 3 strengths. Pogba just behind with rakitic and busquets will be VERY strong.

Which is exactly what Bartomeu wants. He is the outgoing president who is contesting the elections to be re-elected again. Currently Barca is under an interim board until the elections. But if they sign Pogba it will be seen as Bartomeu's signing.
Bartomeu defended the idea of the club's interim Managing Commission getting involved in transfer business. "I've resigned, but the club continues to work on what was agreed on in April", he noted.

Meanwhile the other candidates are asking the interim board not to sign any potential big deals in the name of fairly.

Agustí Benedito has called for the board to exercise caution and not sign off on potential deals such as the Pogba transfer. "I would ask them not to make any decisions beyond the remit of ordinary club operations. We should not go against the principle of fair play. They cannot decide on matters for the value of 200 million euros".

Happy with a barce move, he would seriously strengthen other possible teams. Not so much barce

Rumours say Laporta has him locked.
I want to latch on to the positives, but I must admit the one thing that makes me think it's done is how openly barca have put themselves in the Pogba race. If they don't get him now it looks like he has pied them off and I can't see why they'd put themselves into that position if they weren't confident.

I'll keep blaming the politics for now though. :D

Yep. Rakitic's job was to link play, get wide when Messi comes in, try to get over the top at times when Messi comes short and be an all-around midfielder.

Pogba is very well suited for all that stuff, though Neymar comes inside less (this may change as he develops). Iniesta is 31. If Pogba signs now and joins next summer we're talking about a 32 year old Iniesta coming off a long season and Euros. He may be happy enough backing up both Rakitic and Pogba and getting a fair share of starts and lots of sub apperances that way.

City seriously think they will get him, too much time in the mid day sun for a lot of them I think.

By far the most likely scenario is he will stay at Juventus, then it'll be a free for all next summer if he has kicked on again.

Think City have a fair chance, they're clearly balls deep for him and if Barcelona have dropped out...

Probably 50/50 between whether they get him or Juventus keep him for another season, I suspect City will have to jettison nearly all of their summer transfer budget if they are to convince Juventus to sell this summer.

Have Barca dropped out though? could it not just be an agreement that if all is the same with him next season he will go there, and in the meantime they'll keep quiet and he'll play one last season at Juve.

I just can't see him fancying City at all, but time will tell I suppose.

He'd do it just to piss us off even more

His revenge on the club would be quite complete if he ends up going there.

Well they kind of flipped Pogba off in the statement, saying Enrique didn't fancy him and he wasn't ready for Barcelona.

Not sure why they'd say that if they had him all lined up for next year.

He would be a waste in Spain, I don't think he fits Barca at all, like Yaya Toure in a way. With his qualities he should play in the PL.
