Paul Pogba

I didnt say yaya was bad; i just think he was better for city than he was for barcelona. Likewise Pogba's game is more suited to the PL and him moving to spain is actually a small bonus to teams in the PL.
I don't know about that. People think he was better for City because he was allowed more freedom to go forward and scored goals but at Barca he was equally and positionally speaking perhaps even more effective. He was tactically disciplined and positionally aware all the time and his goals weren't required. He still went on marauding runs every now and then. There are a couple of his full game videos(not highlights) for Barca on youtube, you should check it out.

The fact he was allowed to get more forward is exactly why i said that pogba at man city would be a different kettle of fish to the one who might be at Barcelona. If he is a replacement for Iniesta then I assume he will get pleanty of freedom but any other deeper position would mean taking away from pogba's natural game.

The same reason that the pogba at juventus is different to how pogba would be if he stayed at united.

Yeah different would be the right word i guess, wouldn't say better though. Pogba would probably be on the right or left like Xavi or Iniesta, he won't do the Busquets role which is what Yaya mostly did(not always).

There's a good chance he might move to Bayern. Their midfield is starting to look a little dry, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were in for him.

Teams like barcelona & bayern need midfielders with team ethic. Pogba is not only selfish in his transfer movements but his game has also turned to be a little self absorbed. I said it before his game style changed alot from moving from us to juventus and made him a much more sole focused but paraded player.

Javi Martinez, Thiago, Alaba, Xabi Alonso, Rode, Höjbjerg, Kimmich, Lahm. But yeah probably not enough for Guardiola, allegedly they like Verratti though.

if you offered me Sterling or Pogba both the same price id take Sterling, he will make a huge difference to us IMO, not fussed about De-Brunye

From Bluemoon.

Funny they say that when apparently Pogba doesn't want to go to them and Sterling does.

They are desperate for life in their midfield, Nasri/Silva/Navas/Yaya to an extent are all fine up top.

Who said Pogba doesn't want to come? :)

In their defence, there isn't a better U21 year old around than Sterling so he's an exciting buy, and very different to the players you've mentioned, regardless of the price. You are right though, we are in dire need or a central midfielder - it's priority number one for me.

Martinez is coming back from a long injury lay off, same with Thiago although he has shown he's coming back strong so far. Alaba and Lahm are defenders, Xabi is a good option but he is getting older. Rode, Hojbjerg, and Kimmich are squad players. It would make sense if they went for Pogba.

When they won the treble in 2013, Schweinsteiger and Martinez were the heartbeat of that team, and they had a supreme partnership. Bayern somehow need to find a combination like that again. I can see Thiago being a key-piece in the future.

Bayern won't pay 80 million or whatever required including agent fees and fees to his right holders etc.... for Pogba plus he is too individualistic a midfielder for Guardiola anyway.

He'll end up at one of the 2 Spanish big boys or City probably. Barcelona seems favorite but Real could hijack if they want.

Juve's new #10
Indicative of the type of player he is or he wants to be next season?

With Pirlo out to pasture & Vidal gone, Paul's year to demonstrate his quality with less protection and increased exposure/scrutiny/responsibility

His transfer fee will adjust accordingly

Pretty much the position Fergie played Pogba at in the hand full of games he came on for in the first team.

Its funny though because at the time everyone was slating Fergie for putting him in number 10 position saying he should be playing as a deep lying mid

The 10 position seems right for him. Whenever I've seen him, he didn't look particularly disciplined defensively or show any playmaking qualities, but he's clearly a force in attack. Though admittedly I haven't seen enough of him to really know his strengths and weaknesses.

Strong links to Chelsea at the moment.

Please god no.
Aye, he seems like the missing link (no pun intended!) in that Chelsea team. He can play in the box to box role, allowing Cesc to move further forward.

If City sign KdB and Chelsea sign Pogba... :nervous:

Can't see it happening though. I can see hm going to Barca next season. Or even Real.

So if, as a hypothetical, Pogba were to join then does that make a trio of Pogba Matic and Fabregas in the centre, with Hazard Pedro and Costa up front?

Fackkkk.

Fortunately it won't be as devastating as it looks on paper as Mourinho likes his defensive work, easily title winners if that happens though.

That's the (unrealistic) dream. Pogba or Koké and a permanent switch to 4-3-3.

Pogba as the most advanced of the "3" in the middle since Cesc is much more effective when he has time and space to ping it around.

Oh it's a nonsense Chelsea are never in a million years signing Pogba, no way Juve will lose Vidal, Pirlo, and Pogba in one window.

Barca next summer is where he'll go imo.

From what I 'hear' Barca has dropped/reduced the interest in him. We are more likely to go for Verratti next season. I certainly hope that it's Verratti and not Pogba we target. Real has more chances with him.

Aye, I'm a massive Verratti fan myself. Would take him over Pogba myself, but also think he'd suit a possession system a bit better than Pogba as well.

Pogba was Laporta's man, I guess? Spoilt for choice, you lot! ;)

I'd rather he go to Spain, but Why would Barcelona want him?

Having replaced Xavi with Rakitic, the next thing they need to do is find an Iniesta replacement and I don't see Pogba as that. If I were Barcelona I'd go for Koke instead.

Tbf that'd be as an awe-inspiring front six as you'll find, save for perhaps Barca and Real Madrid.

We're not selling him this summer.

End of.

The fact that we have made a bid of 75mn euros shows the club's ambition. I don't think it's possible Juve will sell Pogba this summer too after making him the big man and giving the no.10 jersey. Juve would still win the serie A though if they lose Pogba and get someone like Oscar and Witsel.

Verratti is unaittainable. Why would PSG sell?
