Paul Pogba

Frustrating that we aren't even in the "race" to sign him. Either we've completely burnt our bridges with him or the club just don't want him or his agent back.

Would be a strange choice by him to go to City. That is not being disrespectful to City.

Juve are a significantly bigger club than City, as are Milan and Inter. If you were going to leave these type of clubs for football reasons you are more likely to go to the likes of Bayern, RM or Barca. Though, I doubt he is a RM or Barca type of player in anything other than he has become a big name. Bayern would be a good move for him.

From what I remember at United, he was certainly not ready for first team football. Has done well at Juve, but it would help any talented player having the likes of Pirlo and Vidal next to you. Juve will be mad to let him go, when they have already lost Tevez and Pirlo.

The names AC Milan and Internazionale might resonate more loudly inside and outside the footballing world than Manchester City, but City are undeniably a more attractive option to a player than those two currently are. I'd argue we're generally more attractive than Juventus as well but that's less clearcut. Even ignoring the money on offer, City are regulars in the CL and compete for all trophies domestically, and it's going to be a tough task for either Milan club to fight their way into the top 3 in the near future.

Great signing for City to replace Yaya Toure. If they get sterling and perhaps De Bryune City will be favorite for the title.

They would be great signings but I imagine it will only be Sterling.

If Pogba doesn't come back here, I just really hope he stays clear of the other English clubs.

They signed him for free and after one season selling him for 70mill. Christ on a crystal meth binge!! Juve are making a killing with this deal.
It's like United gave a 70 million lottery ticket away. Disgraceful move by Ferguson et all.

Bollocks to that. No one knew he would make it to the Cl final and win the league in his first season. Fergie did his best to get him to stay.
He did not but let's not get into that again. (though I kind of did get into it)

People still cant get over it and trying to blame Fergie for every situation that hasnt worked out.

I dont care much for Pogba, he is an individual who absolutely wouldnt suit us at the moment, he wont end up here, thats for sure.

Many knew. And Fergie did his best by instilling confidence in him by playing Fabio and some other unlikely Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime I can't remember the name of in midfield when we were ravaged by injuries and bringing an 80 year old Scholes back. During a time when we were crying out for a midfielder, any proper CM would do, we let a potential beast go out of pride and an outdated sense of morality that will end up costing us big time. We had him in our ranks and we sold him for a packet of used condoms and free herpes consultations. And we still did not buy a proper midfielder for years before or after the incident. Fergie was trolling that position.

Pogba knew what he had to do, we laughed at him and labelled him a typical youngster with a shit mentality who will now fade into obscurity/did he really think he will get playing time there in that midfield when hebcouldn't even get decent minutes for us/ ''after united the only way is down''...
Turns out Juventus recognized his qualities immediately and soon (as early as october... strange how the caf said he wasn't all that when he was with us but only a few months later Juve played him in their midfield....) played him in a midfield that has Pirlo, Vidal, Marchisio et al vying for a spot. Half a year earlier Ferguson deemed him unfit for a place in our team of clown midfielders and even made do with aged wingers (giggs), defenders or strikers in that position.

The question here is why Ferguson, a man who has a track record of spotting qualities in young players, did not give this guy that many chances. Nowadays we have Pirlo, Buffon et co all saying they couldn't believe their eyes how goodbPogba was right when he started training with them. Is it a case of Fergie losing his touch (as he did when he grew older, see his exploits in the transfer market and his diminished ruthlesness) or did he think an 18 year old would surely cave under his pressure?

All we know is that Pogba can easily say he made the right decision in leaving us and can feel vindicated.

Absolutely mental sums being thrown around for him. Can even a desperate City pay these figures and have any money left for other signings? If so, then what's the point on FFP?

Are you pretending to be a Manchester United fan again? Surely a Chelsea fan can't say this with a straight face?
Chelsea who are one of the biggest advocates of FFP and are doing better than just about any club in Europe in adhering to the rules you mean?

FFP is being relaxed so city can spend whatever they want and it sounds like they won't be fined any amount that matters

You mean city don't have a player who currently costs more than £13.8m per year? He must be talking rubbish - City pay everyone £250k a week. By default we'll have to assume that the figures he's throwing around are rubbish.

He is really not worth that money. He is a good player dont get me wrong but seriously? Thats crazy especially considering when you spend that money what you really want is consistency.

However; if City do pull it off; I rekon a small part of it is to give us a 'low blow'. I am not complaining though; the fact that the oil company still worry about us after SAF retired is kind of cool.

Interesting that Cohen's list of the top 7 players cost for FFP features 4 Utd players at an eye watering cost of £70.3m per annum

As if that self-serving hypocrisy would lend any viability to your question...

We're offering Oscar + Cash deal, seeing as Oscar pulverized Juventus not so long ago they might want him.

Its fitting though, we need some one to carry the 'Ogba' lineage.

A midfield of Matic Fabregas and Pogba would be the best in the country.

I'm sure City have players on 200k+ but the above list is players who were signed on those wages and taking the fee itself into account. I don't think City have any players they signed on 200k+ wages, yet.

Thats like a mafia boss going legit once he got to the position of boss in the only way he could.......!

What?

Hello.

Do they not?

I'm sure the likes of Aguero and yaya are on that now but I don't think when they were signed it was for 200k+ wages.

I think Yaya was definitely on 200k per year.. Chelsea have not given anyone that much infact as a starting salary...

I suppose we are a real long shot to sign him. It would look silly for us to pay 60m to bring back a player we had in our books just 3 years ago. Then again, he would complete our midfield and basically propel us into genuine CL and title contenders (given the assumption we will also sign defenders and our team wont start the season like complete strangers).

Yaya reportedly came on 180k I believe.

I never mentioned Chelsea.

He definitely came on 200 which is up to 225 i believe now. And you said the above list only includes people on basis of the fees they were signed for. Then Rooney wouldn't have been there.
