It made the news? Do you know how much absolute rubbish is in the news constantly?
Where's the source for Jose talking about it before this match? Because the only thing that I know of was Guardiola claiming (possibly true, possible not) that Raiola (known to be a huge shit-stirrer, and also known to hate Guardiola) told him that Mkhitaryan and Pogba would be available. Should be noted that Guardiola only made these claims after Raiola reportedly called him a coward and a dog for how he treats people.
I'm not going to waste my time educating you to the obvious because it's so widely known that I don't think it requires any research. However, because you're a fellow supporter I'll advise that you watch Mourinho's pre-match press interviews like most supporters do. Go on youtube and look at "man city - man utd Mourinho:"I cannot focus on how much money City spends" pre-match presser.
A reporter trying to get a reaction from Jose brings the matter up at about 5 and a half minutes in - says words to the effect of; before last derby Pep spoke of Pogba trying to get a berth with city and / that was a deliberate attempt by Pep to destabilise you?? Mourinho tries to keep it down / won't rise to the bait and replies by saying "I didn't even know about it at that time" etc.
Pep was also asked about it in a recent interview when a reporter suggested that he had deliberately leaked the fact that Pogba had sent his agent to ask Pep for a job - Pep replied by saying that he had revealed it in response to abuse from Pogba's agent and not as a way of having a go at Pogba.
Pogba trying to join city has been much talked about and reported and there has never been a single denial, not from our club, not from Mourinho and not from Pogba or his agent. . and belive me if it was untrue then Mourinho would've shoved it down Pep's neck - made a right song and dance about Pep telling lies and trying to destabilise United . . Mourinho would've used it as a cosh to beat city with / as a way to take the higher ground / as a means to diminish city and reduce Pep's reputation . but he didn't because he couldn't because it was true.
Now take it to the next level of thought. Could it have been that the agent had acted without his clients instruction?
Well, as you yourself mention, Raiola hate's Pep. Raiola wouldn't want to do business wth Pep, Raiola hates Pep so much that he wouldn't give him the time of day or the steam off his piss. Raiola would practically vomit at the thought of offering one of his prize clients to Pep.
So why was Raiola going to city, cap in hand, with a cheesy grin on his face, a clean shirt on and a limp warm handshake? Because his client (Paul Pogba) had instructed him to do it.
Pogba didn't go to city because city didn't want him and that's the only reason he wears a United shirt today. However, he'll get my support whenever he wears that shirt, and regardless of any off-field shenanigans, but I'm certainly not going to lie to myself or others on the topic.
What you need to understand is that acting naive / being in denial is not being a better supporter . . . knowing our players for what they are and yet still turning out every game and supporting them whenever they wear the shirt
is being a better supporter.
