Why do posters get all worked up about a pen run up. All that matters is that a player has a high conversion rate however he runs. Hazard doea his stop start and people credit him for the calmness but Pogba is a joke? The agenda with him seems as to extemely focus on his errors and drown out his otherwise excellent performances majority of games.

But, he doesn't. He has 3 out of 5 this season, that is not high conversion rate. And it doesn't lead to sending goalkeeper to the wrong side, or confusing him in any way, so it just looks pointless. And a bit silly.

Overall, another very good game this season. Our best player so far.

He's done the stupid stuttering run up 4 times this season and missed 2 so you're right, it's not even working particularly well.

The one against Brighton he ran up normal and lo and behold sent the keeper the wrong way and scored.

Had another fantastic match apart from the silly chip he tried. Still has the odd brain fart in him but his constituency has been much, much higher recently.

Regularly playing 8/10 matches, and we desperately need them. He and Martial have a great little partnership going like we had at the beginning of last year.

Heck, it even seems as if Graeme Souness is close to joining his constituency!

The thing is, giving the ball away from a flick near the halfway line should not necessarily mean we concede a goal. Creative players give the ball away trying all the time. The fact that it’s happened twice this season is more of an indictment on the players behind him than anything else.

Really really needs to cut out that ridiculous stuttering run up for the penalties though. Probably my only complaint about him.

I don't play FIFA 19 but watching FullTimeDevils an interesting point was made. The bizarre run up Pogba has on penalties is also how he takes penalties on FIFA 19. So could he be doing it because it's branding for FIFA 19?

Nah, he got sent off in our reserves for the same thing.

Because every penalty he has taken for us this season, the goalkeeper somehow went the right way.

The only person it confuses is himself. It’s not an agenda, it’s an observation. If he did the hazard run up, he would send the keeper the wrong way every time which is exactly the opposite to what he does.

That was actually because he did a stop in the run up, the goalie then jumped on the floor and he stroked it in. Against Liverpool I remember.

Yeah but he was still running up like a drunk man pretending he is sober.
Pogba has nothing to do with FIFA 19, he has no reason to promote it.

Think he was very good today and the player who made most difference.

Absolutely! Besides Pogba We have not other creativity in midfield. I actually thought Mata was being too nice not winning the ball from Pogba's flick. Pogba was also surrounded and had no other passing solutions.

not "quite" the same.
Anyway he's done it more than with just us.

One immature dangerous play for plenty more awesome attacking plays.

I'll take it - not a bad gamble.

This is how Pogba is. If he could one day iron out that "flaw", would be a better player. If not, doesn't matter. Plenty more good players have risks in their game.

Respectfully, not sure why you're trying to defend Pogba there, and indicting our other players.

True, creative players will give the balls away often and that flick doesn't mean we'll concede for sure. Thing is, it depends on situations. It's deep on your line, making risky play is risky, priority is to play safer keep the scoreline and kick the ball further away, especially in those moments Everton are smelling blood. Why flick pass to Mata who is surrounded by players? Are there really no better options? It looks to me like he's showing off or being too over confident. It's not the first time Pogba attempting risky plays in our dangerous zone. What's even more disappointing is after noticing Mata lost the ball, Pogba did nothing - just flailing his arms expecting and leaving it to others to get the ball - your mistake, go redeem it. He just let the play past him by and our defense is pressured, Smalling tried last ditch tackle and failed. Concede~

Anyway, it's a mistake. Nvm. Move on. Pogba played well.

Attack, pace, movement, support, aggression, wing.

----------Rashford------

Martial---Pogba---Mata

Shaw-----Fred----Young

Surround him with players providing those, and suddenly his game is so good.

Wonder why it took so long for Mou to use this set-up - to get the full best of our keyest player.

He's a majestic player that brings such joy to the purists watching. I look forward to every game just to see the artist in action. Brilliant player..

Stop the showboating and people will remember his contributions. Or and that silly penalty run also.

Despite the Smalling mistake IT was his brain fart as well. And it really is a gap between a 9 and a 7.5 in my book. It really brought them back and luckly Everton where not good enough to level the game

He’s a majestic fecker. Now stop that shit run up for penalties.
People need to leave Pogba alone. He’s gotten himself where he is and will learn and adjust his game accordingly. Thats how he got here on the first place.

Him and Martial were a class apart. The guy gets blamed for everything though. Everything is his fault even when he scores and assists. His level of consistency this season has been really good.

We'd be useless without him.
Some don’t get this, without him very little seperates us from being a real midtable side.

The man played in the WC final so trust in big games is not an issue. I wouldn't trust any of the defenders or Lukaku in big games. This team needs an influx of better technical players which will raise the level of the entire team including the few high skilled players that MUN currently field.

Who the feck are MUN?

I think the issue is that it doesn't really feel like it's giving him a read on the keeper nor is he sending them the wrong way. I think the plant foot to ball contact time is slow and too telegraphed, especially if he's not going high. He just needs to add the fast sprint in the middle/end as he did vs Brighton.

Agreed. The penalty run up is infantile, embarrassing for him and by extension the club, and shows a lack of respect to the opponent. He's setting himself up for ridicule. Got very lucky today.

Edit: Does anyone think it would be tolerated in SAF's time?

He was brilliant today, took the lead from an attacking sense, spraying passes around like he was paul scholes. Defensively he did well do, always chasing back and covering his man. Even in the 90th minute he was running back.

People can focus on his error (goal which could've easily been avoided had smalling stood on his feet ) but I'll chose to focus on the positive! Keep going Pogba!

What I don’t get about the stuttering run up is that at the point of actually hitting the ball, he’s essentially hitting it from a standing start. He therefore loses all the power you can get from a run up. It’s incredibly poor technique and frankly the coaches should be telling him to change it. It’s not good for him or the team.

He had a really good game though and he’s our best outfield player. Would hate to ever lose him.

Exactly, and now all the goalkeepers know what he is doing, they know not to move before he reaches the ball. Hopefully, the coaches will have a word and, next time, he will surprise the goalkeeper by charging up and blasting it.

Apart from that silly scoop he done which led to their goal, he was unreal. He was in the mood yesterday and it was a joy to watch.

I think having a functioning left wing next to him makes a big difference in his game. He has more outlets to try those little one-twos and can pull off killer passes by drawing players close to him.

We have to get something similar going on the right, then Pogba can be even more dangerous, getting the time and space for his long rangers.
