If Pogba goes out he gets a severe lack of attention towards him that he only gets from our club and fan base.

I don't see him being that type of guy who would want to let that go.

Dybala is shite as number #10.
But Pogba as AM and Dybala in SS position were great in the 2015/2016 season for Juventus with Khedira and Marchisio behind them.

Don't understand CAF obsession with Pogba in a midfield 2. Mourinho lovers ?

Mourinho lovers? So he didnt win the WC playing in a 2? Him playing deeper allows us for more creativity in the final third. Whether that be a goalscoring or playmaking number 10.

Pogba at his best is as an AM with 2 midfielders behind him. Look at his career...Juventus 2015-2016 and the first 2 months with Ole before the injury crisis.

If you truely believe that Pogba's best position is in a midfield 2 behind an attacking midfielder, you are a fool. With the french NT it isn't even a midfield 2 with Kante and Matuidi... and even if he's good, he isn't as good as he was under Allegri or with Ole before the injury crisis.

And Pogba dislike playing in a midfield 2 btw.

Hard to believe that you aren't a Mourinho lovers if you want Pogba in that position.

So whoever doesn't agree with you on Pogbas position is a Mourinho lover? Sounds legit.

Pogba probably is at his best alongside two more conservative midfielders, with the freedom to attack, but that doesn’t mean it’s the only setup he can excel in or that that’s the only way United as a team can succeed with him in the lineup. Pogba’s best season at Juventus was with the far less lauded Marchisio and Khedira, but do you really think that was a stronger midfield than the iteration containing Pirlo and Vidal?

You need to stop with the nonsense about two man midfields as well. What does it even mean, to not be able to play in a midfield two? I always assumed that posters were referring to the need for a player to be deployed in the most advanced position in a midfield three (whether that be as a no.10 or as the ‘more advanced/ attacking’ no.8 in a three man midfield with a single pivot), as opposed to the deeper no.8 position (whether that be in a double pivot alongside a no.6 with a no.10 ahead of them or alongside a more advanced/ attacking no.8 in front of a no.6). Your insistence that Pogba is playing in a three for France says otherwise. I hate the expression. Teams setup to defend and attack in a shape involving eleven players, the number of midfielders is completely irrelevant. What matters is the role for each player - how suitable they are for the position they are played in within the entire team structure. I would describe Matuidi as playing on the left for France, but ultimately it doesn’t matter if you want to call it centre midfield. Pogba very clearly plays deeper for France, in the same or a similar position to Verratti at PSG, Modric at Tottenham, Scholes with Keane, Xavi at Barcelona, or where he predominantly played under Mourinho. He was the best midfielder at the World Cup, and he was magnificent yesterday. There is merit to playing him in that position. Many want more creativity in the team, looking for players who could come in in an advanced midfield position is a perfectly viable option.

Came on here this morning to casually see how Pogba did last night for France, and somehow there’s an argument about Jose. Only here!

Same. So how did he play last night? Anyone?

He was good like everyone else. It was a little bit a game of two halves though, during the first half he tried to play a little bit too high and wasn't enough at the heart of France build up game, he was also often out of position defensively which was fortunately covered by Kanté who was great. In the second half, he played a little deeper and shared the playmaking duties with Griezmann, they both did it very well.

I'd take the links to Real with a pinch of salt.

How much are Real really gonna spend? They want Mbappe, Pogba, Mane, De Gea, Hazard according to the media.

He'll probably sign a new contract, with a nice wage increase but the rumours linking him to Madrid will probably never stop. We just have to get used to it.

At least it looks like he's enjoying his football these days with us.

He is the reason increasing those rumours.
If he wants to stay with us, he should come out and say it in public but what happened is exactly the opposite, he just came out neglecting the fans and went flirting with that Madrid and repeated what CR7 said before about that Dream and bla bla bla.

We need to build a team that will match his ambitions otherwise he will leave. He is eventually a balloon d’or contender. Unbelievable footballer.

Pogba is a class player. Doesn't have the players around him at United so gets made the scapegoat when we don't play well. This is why I reckon he will leave if not this summer the following one.

He might leave next summer and he has every right too without our fans giving him shit cause we haven't even attempted to become a team good enough to match his quality.

This isn't like Ronaldo playing for the arguably best team in the world and leaving. Pogba is playing for a team that is hit or miss on making top 4 every season and he is arguably the best midfielder in the world now that Modrics age has caught up to him.

Player careers are short. If we were good he would stay. He rejected Madrid for us ffs.

Great post.

I always prefer watching at home. you have a much better view and see what's going on very clearly.

I see what you mean but I prefer live football. You appreciate some players way more, Scholes is a perfect example with his off the ball movement.

Makes me sad to see how well he plays for France. We have an absolute world class midfielder in our ranks and he is hindered by the players around him being largely sub-par. I wouldn't blame the guy for wanting to leave. He's not too good for the club, but he is too good for our current squad in truth.

So you think we have done enough to get to the top of world football where himself and De Gea are good enough to be.

De Gea's been our best player for couple of years, while Pogba hasn't reached anywhere similar level yet.

You're not understanding the point. De Gea's been the 'best player' because the squad and the performance has been so poor. At the moment, the club is not anywhere near matching the ambitions of the two top players at the club.

So under Mourinho, we had players good enough to challenge/win the league but, he was doing a bad job...

Now with Pogba, our team is full of sub par players, not up to his standards and not up to the standard of winning the league...

This. Pogba and De Gea walk into any team in the world. As long as we aren't close to those top teams, which we aren't then it is understsnunder big they looked to leave.

Let's be honest how many year of us failing to improve is it ok for a player to think of their own career's.

Again it is simple. We try to compete by actually making moves he and De Gea will stay. We dither and fight for fourth again then they and possibly other would be asking themselves questions.

Our team isn't to the standard of winning the league. It's a 3rd to 6th place team. We have a few players good enough for a title winning team but we have a lot of glaring holes.

This can't be an unpopular opinion. Having no good CB pairing, No right winger and no recognised right back is never going to lead you to a title.

I don't like this. Like somehow Pogba is free from responsibility for his team doing bad. He has put in some horrible performances and especially in games he has captained us. It is not a good thing for us. Something weird with his mentality. He needs to be able to play to his full level, even if other players in his team aren't doing it. That is what makes you a world class player. If not, then it really is just excuses. Of course he could wait for us to have a better team, or even leave for a better team to play with but he'll have to cut that out of his game to get that consistency anyways. If we lose him right now i'd be sort of okey with it because at the moment he is still replaceable, but that might change real quick and if he now decides to move and tears it up for another club, that will just be painful. He needs to do it for us consistently, no excuses.

That's my point. People accuse others of having agendas when in reality, we're just being realistic and trying to see it from different points of view.

What I posted is a classic case of an agenda bias on here. People rightfully made out that Mourinho was doing a shit job but, they then said we were better than that and should be challenging/winning the league, which is clearly wrong

Now, it's a case of "awww poor Paul, the team just isn't up to his standard and it's just not good enough. He needs to be playing with a world class team to get the best out of him"

Utter bollocks! It can't be one rule for one and a different for another. It's one or the other!

This!

Although, Ozil passed the ball to Ronaldo and looked good :D

No qualms about him leaving. He is approaching his peak years and is in a team that doesn’t have the overall quality to win major tournaments yet. I can understand why he would want to maximise his chances for trophies.
