Maybe it's true that wants a new contract to match Alexis wages? Pretty sure his form took a nosedive after Alexis' arrival.

Whether they’re having a laugh or not isn’t the problem. It’s that they’ve obviously had some encouragement from Pogba and his people. Which is bad news for us
I think we should string them along and break the fax machine on Spanish transfer deadline day @ about 1155 pm .

Surely we can lay down the law here,

Under no circumstances will we sell him after the closure on the English window and he'll only consider selling him if we get a huge offer and can find a suitable replacement.

His form took a nose dive after he got injured and followed it up by getting sent off before the biggest game of our season.

That offer should offend Pogba and he has a big ego. If the same team payed £145m for Coutinho six months back and now are throwing 50M + 2 donkeys for Pogba after he's wont eh World cup, then certainly it shows the desire of Barca. Pogba is not Fabregas who let go of his bonuses at Arsenal to make Barca move possible. Pogba would want to Barca to make him their most expensive player if he's to go there.

He was amazing against Everton too...
He had some good performances here and there, no doubt about it, his drop off was very noticeable because I thought he was excellent in the first part of the season.

Wish Pogba would just sack up and get on with it and prove to everyone how good a player he is without trying to use Raiola to bail him out of a situation that he's finding a little difficult.

The situation isn't a little difficult, with Mourinho his career is at stake. He should leave.

But he should be careful in choosing his new club, he already lost 2 seasons even if Barcelona is a better choice than playing for Mourinho, I don't think that it's the best club for him.

 I love this thread.

Err..United fan ?!

I think Barca probably know it’s unlikeky to happen this window now, these moves may have one eye towards next summer.

Pogba and Jose hasn’t seemed an ideal fit for sometime now and, given his agent, there’s probably something in this. Would be totally gutted to see him leave, this summer or next.

Come next summer the managerial situation may well be different, it's certainly going to be interesting this season that is for sure.

This is just the weirdest run up to a season I can remember. Stranger than Moyes because we all expected it too feel odd then. The latest Pogba rumours are just the cherry on top.

I feel far from confident and I’m not impressed by a lot of aspects of our summer, but for a club that I’d argue has been, overall, making steady steps in the right direction since Jose has come in, it’s all rather blown up. Without a ball being kicked.

Personally, I’m trying to hold back from any grand claims until we’ve got our season under way, but if we reach the end of the month with Pogba at Barca it’ll be hard not to feel like catastrophizing.

I don’t think this will happen though.

I lost my faith in his compromise and loyalty when Guardiola confirmed that Raiola offered him.

Another mercenary.

Can't blame him considering to move to one of the best teams in the world, then playing attractive football.
You see, he moved out from United before, and it was one of the best decision in his career.

Sounds like a cry for more money. Heaven forbid having a world cup winner making less than a Copa America winner.

I understand your wish but why Pobga do that to a man who's contributed into making him richer and richer ?

The ball is in our court here, in that Pogba is under contract and we dont have to sell him.

Only worrying thing is that, he may not want to play under Mourinho. If thats the case, then we probably wont get the best out of Pogba.

If it was earlier in the window and Barcelona put in a serious bid, then I think Mourinho would have accepted and gone in for Savic.

As it is, its way too late for us to find a replacement, which means Pogba needs to stay. Just hope that he performs to a high level.

My biggest worry is Thursday will come and go and Riola will encourage Pogba to force a transfer away from the club after we have the chance to replace him.

There would be nothing worse than Pogba and Martial both trying to force their way away from the club, the knock-on effect it will have on team morale will be awful.

Express and Mirror are both citing Mundo as their source, and Mundo are citing Calciomercado as their source, who have said no such thing.

I'm sure there has been a bid, but I doubt it has gone any further than that. It's just media posturing for clicks right now.

Sign mercenaries, get mercenary behaviour.

And who isn't a mercenary? Loyal 'hardworking' average players like Lingard or Valencia who don't think about leaving because.... well no club in our level wants them?

If he wants to leave, let him. feck Pogba, I don't care if we have a replacement or not. Fool me once..

If he goes for 150m or a 100 Idg a damn, not greater than the club.

I'm a big fan of Pogba but I think his game more suited to Italy or La liga than premier league and is the same reason Fergie never used him as United at the time relied on a hardworking 2 man midfield.

Pogba's agent knew the more languid game in italy would allow his client to shine and earn a big contract to a big team. He just had to be patient and it worked.

I believe he's wanted to leave for a while as Guardiola revealed and yes Mourinho played a role as well but what coach worth his salt will sit by while his superstar absconds his full defensive responsibility. Guardiola would be even harher on Paul than Mourinho as far as pulling for the team but City football style would also suit Paul better.

Can see a De Gea style scenario here where Pogba doesn't even make the match day squads till after the International break (assuming he's still here that is)

I really hope he doesn't go now, if only as it would give Jose a huge excuse for any lack of challenge this year.

This is his agent right there, Zlatan goes "When your agent tries to squeeze every last penny out of you #minoraiola #nr1"

As long as he stays his agent, we have to accept these kinda rumors as fair game.

Yeah. Seems to be the case with Raiola clients all round. There was rumor of playing hard ball from Raiola for Zlatan before his injury, to earn him longer contract, than us simply triggering the one year option. As we can see Zlatan loves the club, and that saga ended up with Zlatan being at our mercy.

Kane? Eriksen? Salah? Griezmann?

ALL of them have all recently gotten salary bumps to ward off suitors to keep them happy, probably same thing Pogba will get. None of them are still there out of the goodness of their hearts. You think if Barca or Madrid offered any of those guys much more money than they're on now they won't consider it because they aren't 'mercenaries?'

Fairly sure that all of them are currently being paid less than Pogba is on already. As far as the Spurs players are concerned, considerably less.
