Patrick Dorgu | Medical today? No. Weekend.

Onana
Yoro De Ligt Martinez
Mazraoui Fernandes Ugarte Dorgu
Amad Garnacho
Zirkzee

Bench
Altay
Dalot
Maguire
Mainoo
Collyer
Hojlund

If we can loan Rashford out in January, I'll take that for the rest of the season. But if we Sell Garnacho then we definitely need an instant replacement in the number 10 position. Losing Rashford won't make a difference but Garnacho would be noticeable.

I hope this lad is going to give us balance and threat that makes space for the likes of Bruno and Rasmus and Amad to operate in. I expect Rasmus to come through this poor period and start rattling them in again before the end of the season. Gone off the boil is an understatement at the minute though

Swap Mazraoui for Dalot and I'd agree, that's probably our best team for the season.

Hakimi, Pjanic etc were all proven players.

Calafiori was a star at the Euros and more experienced..

Keane was a striker & it was during the Moshri stupidity at Everton.

Scamaca had lot more experience & scored 16 goals for Sassuolo in the previous season.

The transfer between PL clubs is a different ball game altogether.

Anyway, if it is done then it's done. Hopefully, the club hasn't the repeated the stupidity from the Antony, Hojlund, etc. deals. This is more Amad then Hojlund.

so those signings were good deals and nothing about the signing clubs made sellers get excited they way you suggest happens for united? I get a sense that youre suggesting that once united come calling, sellers are just having a laugh when I think ive outlined that no, clubs will look to get the best fee possible regardless. (That doesnt mean antony and hojlund werent overpayments) As always I just dont think a signign can be judged until the player has played. Diallo was called a waste of money here for years.

Mazraoui at RCB and Dalot at RWB.

Yoro coming off the bench.

I mean that is quite literally the point of signing players. I don't get what you're getting at? Are you conflating "win games" with "score goals"?
yes. That’s exactly what wins you games. Arsenal will tell you that. They’ve signed a ton of midfielders and defenders but no ST and they’re paying the price for it.

I am sure every club overpays at times, but we have been especially guilty. We have done it countless times over the last XII years & that has brought us to our current precarious position. Is that up for debate?

Aye, I hope our summer window is primarily about buying attackers because we’re so light in numbers and quality up front

I have seen Dorgu play for both the Danish national team and Lecce. As a type, he will fit perfectly into Amorim's system. But I'm not sure if I think he's better than Malacia. So I'm surprised that (or if) Dorgu is coming to United.

I hope it's just a matter of United's scouts having more sense in spotting a talent than I do ;-) In any case, I can't see that Dorgu would be a special talent.

In the Danish national team, Victor Kristiansen from Leicester and Joachim Mæhle from Wolfsburg (who also can play right back) are ahead of Dorgu in the hierarchy for the left back position.

Exactly. A creative number 10 and a clinical ST. Obviously we need a LWB also which should be sorted this week and then other positions after that.

a decent second half of the season with us will change that.

You'll get called a negative Nancy for pointing this out

He looks far skinnier and more mobile here than he was with us. Why do players seem to bulk up and lose their agility at United. One of my many frustrations with our players development.
Players probably read the caf. Half the posters on here complain about players needing to bulk up. I can't get my head around it. It's not rugby

And so what? Most United fans have only seen him on youtube. That's why I thought my post was relevant when, after all, I've seen Dorgu play several times. But sorry if I'm wrong. And sorry if I don't write what everyone wants to hear.

That will change everything. And Dorgu is a young player, and we will have to be more patient with him and his development than we are with several other of our young players of the same age.

Well I hope he is able to meet his add ons easily because that will hopefully mean he is a hit. Now its time for me to go and convince myself that he will be a good signing.

Trying to look for some comparative pricing. In the past few windows, Kadioglu to Brighton for €30m, Hall to Newcastle for €33m, Nuno Mendes to PSG for €38m, Maatsen to Villa for €44.5m, Lucas Hernandez to PSG for €45m, Cucurella to Chelsea for €65m. Also for right backs, Livramento to Newcastle for €37.2m. all according to transfermarkt.

Dorgu for €37.5m then fits in decently well with those first few as a relatively unproven young but promising left back. Hope he adapts quickly.

For his experience he really doesn't fit into that sort of pricing.

It's the opposite right? The rest were much more proven entities.
