Patrick Dorgu | Medical today? No. Weekend.

We spent a combined 125m on Hojlund and Zirkzee… In retrospect, we should have bought Osihmen for 100m and brought in a 2nd striker for 25m.

It’s easy to see our mistakes looking back. I think for the striker of Man United, this is one area where you want a proven, prolific 9. SAF always paid for talent in his 9s. Always.

If we can’t pay 80m for a striker, we might as well shut down Old Trafford. If Jim can’t spend to get us back to winning the league, he should leave.

It bothers me that the Caf has eaten up this shit from the board that we can’t afford to pay for top talent. There are literally a million loopholes in PSR. It’s not a money issue. We have until June 30 to comply with PSR.

I think the board needs to support Amorim. I think they need a plan to accumulate young, teenage talent to re-stock the academy while simultaneously buying top class proven talent. We are not especially athletic, we’re poor 1v1, we’re not big, we aren’t very technical and we don’t have much pace.

We can’t claim to be the biggest club in the world and not be in the conversation for top talent.
My point was that to be able to afford the £80m striker you need to make sacrifices in other areas, if you can spread £100m around three or four positions in defensive (water career roles) you can go all in on a proven striker. Going for a project striker wasn't a very bright idea on our part, what we have spent on Hoijlund and Zirkzee is enough to buy a top striker.

Hojlunds still pretty rapid aswell. His goal against Galatasaray last season.
I feel like Hojlund has lost quickness. I guess his top speed is still quite fast but he often struggles to get the separation from his markers from a standing start that we saw the likes of Sulemana get against a really fast defender in Yoro. Obviously Sulemana is probably in the 99th centile for that particular quality.

That’s cause he’s usually just fallen on his arse after losing his 100th duel with the CB

Hojlund was never particularly fast

Ye but that’s because Hojlund hasn’t got any football IQ. He can’t do the basic things

Haven’t watched even a single clip of his but glad that the club has identified an on-pitch issue and are moving rapidly to fix it. That’s positive. Whether Dorgu is the right fit at that price is still up for debate but there are so many things to like about this transfer.

We go again.

I understand they are battling relegation but if the lad does his ACL or something then deal off?
Yup no way we'd sign him if he picks up a major injury. Big risk on Lecce side. Honestly surprised United haven't forced them to keep him out.

We're much more balanced with a left footed wingback and Dalot on the right. They're actually keeping the width and the the inverted tens are operating in the half spaces, which is exactly where we want them to be.

Malacia is crap, but I can see exactly what the manager will get from signing someone of Dorgu's profile.
