Paris terror attacks on Friday 13th

What exactly?

Anyone who really thinks that using Israeli's 'widsom' to deal with the problem is deluded. It will be exactly the opposite.

Considering the fact they live with the threat on a daily basis, I'd say they know a bit more than hipsters on red cafe and other social media. Also, the idea they shoot people in the street for fun and impose blockades for the sake of it is absolute madness. Who in their right mind believes that?

It goes against instinct, hence why I said it would need to be reshaped in these situations. In the blink of a second you have to decide if you wait for certain death or give yourself and others a chance by throwing yourself on top of a guy who'll have lesser time to aim properly, lesser time to detonate a grenade, and certainly no chance of succeeding against a crowd. I feel disgusted just thinking about this, certainly not the best time for reason... I don't even know what I'm saying.
In terms of the fight or flight response, it probably leaves our brain just a mess of confusion knowing we stand little chance in a fight whilst having nowhere to run. If you think of the guys on the train that took down the terrorist, they had military training and the confidence and skills to pull it off. Not easy for the average civilian to do something like that.

Shut up about Israel now, it's not the time. There's a massive feck-off thread for you to give your two cents to their situation, and there are plenty of posters who'll love to debate with you about it. But in this thread, at this time, it's not wise to bring them up.

pretty sick stuff. Aren´t local elections in france in about two weeks?

I'm not sure. The only big thing that was announced for the next few weeks in Paris is a major world conference on climate changes, the biggest since Kyoto.

Cannot believe it. What is the world coming to?

R.I.P to all those that have been killed in such a tragic attack. Horrible news.

I don't think anyone has been caught.

Found this on twitter.

Saw a poll earlier today that had Le Pen leading the three-way contest for the Presidency. I imagine this will strengthen her lead.

They are dealing with a very unusual and tough situation and they are going live to the whole world.

It's not that hard to refrain from repeating "news" (generally tweets) you have not sourced/verified.

I am talking about nothing else; they have an enormous amount of experience of closing the noose on terrorists, and France (and the rest of us) would benefit from the counsel of the Israelis. Why wouldn't we listen to the wisdom of the Israeli's? Something has to be done about this travesty.
you on a WUM?

Absolutely sickening events, how can people be so cruel? What is the solution?

R.I.P to those deceased.

A presenter or a reporter, can you recall their name? I don't know how they could do that.

Nah, I didn't get who it was. I turned on the BBC news and a guy was talking on the phone with some eye witness and he first asked him if he could see bodies still on the street, then asked him how many there were, it was ridiculous. A couple of others on here confirmed that's what he asked.

Now we have this woman giving out rumours via 'social media'. It's quite pathetic.

Are you seriously advocating going after the families of these terrorists. Or just shooting people in the roads? Would that be any less terrorism than this?

Why stop there? Nuke the middle east and deal with the problem once and for all! Cause warmonger logic says so.

Anyway, time to stop derailing the thread.

I'm sure the French, the Americans, British and all the allies are already talking. They all have sufficient expertise to deal with these things. But I am totally shocked such coordinated attacks were not detected. Chatter/phones calls?

France is a country with loads of criminals and potential terrorists living in it, on top of that it's the center of western Europe, the Police have a lot to do.

Guy on Reddit who was apparently inside the Bataclan. Horrible.

Was at the Bataclan like an hour ago during the shooting. The guy entered through the front door, probably firing like 60 rounds by clips of 30 I would say. The crowd collapsed and we were all laying on the ground.

The guy just fecking spread on the pit, I just prayed not to get hit. People managed to get out by crawling on the stairs of the nearest exit. I just did the same, crawling over other people on the stairs like a fecking cockroach fighting for his life.

Don't know about the performers.

I cannot imagine how mentally strong those special forces have to be knowing fully well that their own lives are at stake when they have to fight terrorists.

I said target the houses of the families of those terrorists identified, not necessarily to bulldoze all of them, but to bring in intelligence and to bring some level of accountability to this madness. Are you seriously suggesting my comment is even suggesting anything remotely close to "nuking the middle east". For goodness sake, man.

Some of the posts in this thread are mental.

"Bomb the whole middle east, lets torture them, bomb their houses"

Again, something else from another forum that I don't have a source for...

"ISIS just claimed the attacks as their work. Warns Washington, London and Rome next"

Yeah your initial comment was pretty obvious in what it meant

True, but it's not like anyone will feel very sorry if ISIS, the most likely candidates, are being "unjustly" accused.

The fact that they recently issued a direct threat to Russia is not helping them taking off the "guilt" of having perprated the attacks in Paris.

It's terrifying.
