Outgoing Players

Probably the first outgoing player, considering the source and player and replacement is already bought. Just need a buyer now. Seems strange though considering all players were told they'd be given a chance during pre-season. However, I don't remember reading Rojo saying anything at all post-Mourinho's appointment.
Maybe the club was advised to get rid by LVG before he was sacked.

True, non-performers need to be culled from time to time. But what LVG did in the last 2 seasons is inexcusable. He took out the heart of the team, and replaced it with a faulty pacemaker.
That's not how a pacemaker works.

I can't remember the list time I was ecstatic to see one of our players leave, but seeing strong rumours on Rojo being kicked out the door is a great, great news. Don't want to see him in out shirt ever again.

Who did we sell that was the heart of the team? I thought we needed a good clear out and had no problem with any of those players going.

Id pay someone to take Rojo. Felliani certainly needs to go (or be moved to the ticket office) and as much as it pains me to say it I would seriously look at moving Schweinsteiger unless he really ia fully fit again.

I would give Darmian and Jones 1 more season

Fellaini needs to go. His biggest attribute was height.

We looking to sign Ibrahimovic and Pogba. Already got Bailley. The team size will increase and if we ever plan on going route one you rather lump it up to Ibrahimovic than Fellaini.

Don't care about Rojo.

If we going to spend big money and need to recoup, I think Mata looks likely the biggest casualty. Just hope we don't sell him for something silly like £15m to Juve or Atletico.

Thats mental
Not really, half of those listed were not involved in games anyway, the rest were out on loan. Carrick has just been given an extension for 12 months, he will not be going anywhere. No real surprises named there. Valdes is gone, Blackett will be gone, Keane's chance has come and gone due to injury unfortunately. The ones named as loans need game time. They will not progress sat on the bench.

Rojo and Fellaini are the main two I want to see sold, no offence Fellaini he is what is, but I just don't want him as an option anymore, Rojo I've wanted gone for ages.

Mata is an obvious sadly, Blind seemingly not wanted either, and both are real money generators which by all accounts we might need, on top of that Romero, Valdes, Blackett, and I fancy a surprising departure too, Schneiderlin or Herrera maybe.

Everton want Schneiderlin for £20m. I said ages ago, he should/would go there. I'm praying this happens. We need to make room for the real talent coming in. If he finds his form at Everton then fair play to him.

No sir. He is qualified as homegrown. May turn out good, and we don't have many player of his type. It's stupid to sell for loss with that in mind. Everton can feck off. Ripped us off with Fellaini and tried to sign our player for cheap now?

We ALWAYS sell at a loss!

So did Madrid, until recently after they realised the mistakes they made with Sneijder and Robben among others. So this summer is better late than never. So I'd want to see us quote Everton £40m.
The reason we sell cheaply is because we usually sell players that are on a sizeable contract that we don't need them anymore. This really limits the fee we get when selling.

Schneiders ain't done anything to justify a £40m price tag though. I think £20-£25m is about right. If that's going to part fund any Mkhitaryan, James, Pogba deal, I'd be happy with that.

We'd need energy in midfield if we sold Schneiderlin. I'd happily move him on if Kante was his replacement, but going into a season with a midfield three from Carrick, Schweinsteiger, Rooney, Pogba, James etc would be so lackluster. Only Herrera could provide any sustained running in that midfield.

Internet rumours: is repeating these a bannable offence?, It's probably just journalists/bloggers guessing!
loans:
Bastian Schweinsteiger:- Inter Milan
James Wilson:- Wolves / Birmingham City / Aston Villa
Tyler Blackett:- Reading loan
Ashley Fletcher:- Leeds, Briston City, Barnsley

transfers:
Marcos Rojo:- £9.75m transfer to Italy, Spain, China
Matteo Darmian:- to Barca
Morgan Schneiderlin:- to Everton for £20m
Phil Jones:- Hull City
Daley Blind:- Arsenal / Barca

Bosman move
Ashley Fletcher:- Leeds, Briston City, Barnsley

Mourinho has made it clear that he wants to assess everyone on 1st team squad on pre-season before making further decision so I don't think we should buy too much into those rumours. They might still turned out to be sold but I don't think now is the time.

No he hasn't. But has Stones done anything to justify a £50m fee, or Lukaku a £75m fee? My point is, if Everton expect clubs (like United) to pay ridiculously high fees for their players, expect to pay at a similar level for ours if they want them.

I see your point and yeah Stones and Lukaku are heavily over-rated and over-inflated as far as fees go. In that context yeah Schneiders should have a £40m price tag slapped on him but tbh I'd just be happy if he left.

To go
Rojo - disappointing, dodgy at LB, not comfortable on the ball
Fellani - Not utd quality
Young - I like young, but age and better players in the positions he could fill, means its time to move on
Jones - A player who is consistently unavailable is no use to anyone

I believe most of the players rumored to be sold by Jose will offer great value for many clubs, even for a few top clubs.

Darmian can be a reliable fullback for a lot of decent teams. Schneiderlin is the one I don't want to leave but if we can get around what we paid for him I'm okay with it. Will be interesting to see who Jose has in mind as his replacement.

I'd like us to keep Schweini because there's no point in loaning him for a year when we can use his experience.

We can easily get £30m plus for Mata if any premier league club is interested. Still might offer great value and could be a marquee signing for a few PL clubs.

I'm pretty sure there'll be multiple offers on the table for Blind. Fellaini would be a decent #10 for a few PL clubs and we can easily get more than £15m for him, even above £20m. We can recoup around £15m for Jones and Young combined.

I believe our net spend will be a lot lower this summer and that would allow us to make our £100m marquee signing we all are waiting for. I hope it's Griezmann but that ship has sailed.

Darmian has only been here for a year, which on averag is not enough time for a new player to adjust to PL and people already want him sold. By that logic we will be buying half the team every summer

At his age, he should be doing better in his first season in a new league. He actually started well here but for me, the problem is he's never had a decent game offensively which is not acceptable from a fullback in the modern game.

If we can get what we paid for him, we can do much better.

Cant write off Darmian, Schneiderlein or Depay after 1 season. I think all 3 of those could be solid players for us with the right manager and system. Maybe they are lacking in confidence and just need someone exactly like Mourinho to motivate them

People saying Phil Jones will be sold don't know Jose personality. He absolutely loves players like Jones that are willing to go through a brick wall for him.

The only CB that should be worried about being sold is Rojo

Sure but he barely plays since he is always injured.

Hopefully we offload Rojo and Fellaini. Cant see anyone coming in for Jones or Young so I guess they are good enough squad players to keep. Really think Mata will also be off.
Wilson, Pereira and maybe Fosu Mensah going out on loan and I'd say this is last chance for Januzaj to show some form so I think he will be staying with the first team squad and given a chance by Jose.

Rojo, Jones, Young, Fellaini all gone.

Mata, Schneirderlein, Rooney, Bastian, Darmian, Herrera, Valencia on the brink.

All of these players underperformed last year and we finished 5th. A number of them should pay the price.

Probably a decent amount of players will be moving on this summer and the next 2 windows. I'd imagine these would all be gone once Mourinho's 2nd season starts:
  • Jones
  • Rojo
  • Mata
  • Januzaj (can't see him succeeding under Mou if he didn't under LvG)
  • Memphis (same as Januzaj)
  • Carrick
  • Fellaini
  • Schweinsteiger
  • Rooney
Likes of Lingard and Schneiderlin have a few doubts too, if they'll be good enough for even a squad position under Mou. Young and Valencia will be good squad players I think but are getting on in age (both actually turning 31 within the next month and a bit). Obviously they all won't be sold, and there is a bit of hope that one of Memphis/Januzaj make it, and Lingard and Schneiderlin stay as squad players and improve to have a good impact, but that's 13 players overall that there are doubts one reason or another over if they'll be here 2 years from now.
Been a great start to the summer, but there is still work to be done to revitalize the squad as the midfield is especially old and lacking in quality.
