I’ve got such bad PTSD from our signings in recent years I keep thinking he’s going to plateau off and become the average player we’ve got used to. But he just keeps going up another level regardless of opponents. Nothing seems to faze him.
He’s one of the few players who bring calm and composure to our play in tense environments. I can imagine him breaking the press from a high intensity siege at Anfield whereby we’re under the cosh yet he brings calm and composure to those around him.

There’s a handful of players since SAF retired that I think would fit into the peak United Premier League teams. Maz (so far) is definitely one of them, the guys talents, flexibility and desire has been a highlight this season
If you have 4-5 players of Mazraoui's quality and ability, you'd see an instant improvement

I think it is clear to see that he is our best player. His aggressive style always on the front foot is a necessity for this team.

Creates a bit of a dilemma doesn't he? I know it's very early days for Yoro but Mazraoui is clearly a better RCB in my opinion.
As things stand, I'd play Yoro in the middle as the last man defender because he has the pace to bail us out when we get caught up the pitch.
Mazraoui absolutely has to start. Very little progression from defense without his drive and passing range. Plus he's been top whenever he's played.
Problem is that Maguire is better as a passer as well as as aerially than Yoro. You think our Setpiece defending is poor now? What till you're playing without De ligt or Maguire.
Showed some real fight when he came on. Been a great signing so far.
Fair points. What we needed was someone who can pass better than Maguire but had more mobility. That doesn't feel like what we've ended up buying.
Either way Mazraoui has to play. None of our other defenders is operating at a higher level than he is. Maybe we move him to wing back and play Amad as one of the #10s? I dunno.

Not knocking on Yoro, our young CB on his first start and after injury. But Maz coming in, and our defence instantly improved a level. At least, feels like it.

I think should try him at LWB role. Together with Amad, the 2 bright sparks so far. He is a bit wasted as RCB. He can bring the ball forward and influence the game more if given more advance role.

Him and Amad are vital to this team and Amorim, easily the two best players in the managers new system.

Thought he was our best player again tonight. Barely put a foot wrong, and even when he does, he's incredible at finding a way to put his body between the opponent and the ball and win it back.

I still cannot understand how we got Nous on the cheap. There are maybe one or two who can claim to have been as consistent for us this season.
Always feels like he's playing a different game than the rest, it's a compliment to him as he's surrounded by bare donkeys with the ball out there

He really bullied Doku, defends well and goes forward well, finds ways to progress the ball rather than only passing back, I think got done once probably but he left it all there.

I wouldn't say bullied. I think that was the most I've seen Mazraoui struggle defensively. In the end he did okay but I don't think he is well suited for the rwb spot.
The way he wins so many tackles is magic, he is so good defensively and in the build up.
Brilliant again. With him and Diallo our right side looks good again. Our other one needs massive improvement sadly

Jokes aside, perhaps didn't bully but he didn't struggle as well, Doku really didn't do much aside from some lofted crosses with his left that the CBs dealt with, limited Doku and didn't allow him to do much, and once he picked his pocket and run forward with the ball after brushing Doku aside and was the reason why we had the chance that Bruno missed.
Brilliant signing. He suits us and, importantly, he improves us. He looks great in our system. I really like him.
Agreed, struggled a bit but he didn't let his head down and kept showing his quality at several moments.
