Another great game at RCB. He offers so much from that role with the ball being able to dribble out of pressure and lend himself to attacking moves with some of his passes.

He's also 6'0 so he's fine at CB even when Lisandro is also playing as long as we have one dominant aerial CB like de Ligt in the middle

Naturally gifted on the ball. Great player to watch. Not world class, but solid, decisive and intelligent.

To think there's an alternate reality where both him and Amorim are at West Ham.

Who are the world class RCBs in back 3s?

3 at the back is quite popular now with plenty of teams doing well using it but I'm not sure any of the RCBs are better than he has been in his couple of games there. I dont think Tapsoba, Pavard, Mancini or Klostermann are better. Singo was very good there for Monaco but they barely play 3 at the back anymore

Emphasis on the bolded. Makes no sense to proclaim someone a world class CB after 2 games in the position. As much as I am happy at his performances.

He probably thinks Rafael and Chris Smalling are still 20 years old playing RB.

Says this after 2 games vs Ipswich Town and Bodo Glimt

It’s a shame that him and the other full back are our best footballers.

Absolutely top class, will struggle to find better in the PL this season.

Proud to say I really wanted ten Hag to bring Mazraoui with himself from Ajax 2 years ago :D

Although the injury concerns were, and still are very real from his Bayern stint. I hope we've not just been insanely lucky in that regard, and an inevitable long spell on the sidelines isn't coming.

Brilliant in this match. There's been a few games this season where I've felt his performance were a bit over-rated on here, but I'm not sure what he could have done any better in this one.

It'll be interesting to see whether he'll move out to the RWB role once we have some of our central defenders back (notably Yoro), or whether we'll keep him playing on this role in the central defence. Perhaps it'll be a bit of both, depending on the opposition and who is fit.

My first thought when we were signing ETH was how are we letting Ajax's rightback go for free to another team. Ole had the Haaland connection we didnt use and ETH had this one right off the bat so I was bemused. Bayern are obviously a great team and perhaps it was impossible to talk him out of it by the time ETH signed, still didnt sit right with me.

Regardless he did end up here this summer but only after West Ham were close to signing him... One of the few times where we sign a player for not a lot of money and they overperform on the money and the teams we were rivaling for him will be sick they missed out. Usually it turns out our rivals were saved from a bad purchase.

I think the deal with Bayern was too advanced at that point, but yes, it was something I felt bad about missing out on. Think Barca were very interested too but he chose Bayern, if my memory serves me well.

Looking forward to seeing what he can do at RWB.

Would add so much more balance to the team having a proper right footed player there plus he has a great engine and athleticism.

It’s tricky though. He just cannot support LGB as a muslim. (Transgender rights yes but not homosexuality). It’s a sin in Islam and most other religions as well as far as I know.

There is a difference between “not supporting” and “hating” though. If you’re not endorsing something by wearing a band - that doesn’t mean you are homophobic.

But that’s not why he was sold. I think it was because of his vocal support to Palestine. Germany, (Bayern) being on the wrong side of history as always worked out well for us. Excellent signing.
100% agree with you, due to Germany history it's almost impossible for them to have an anti-israel opinion, it'll be judged harshly so their loss our win.

He's an amazing player, can't believe we got him that cheap a true bargain.

He's very limited attacking though. Think we need more dynamism there. Maz would be solid there, just not elite level needed from a creator.

He's been the surprise of the season though for sure.

One underrated thing about him is he has really accurate heading. Goes unnoticed in a game but it's so beneficial to us retaining the ball.

I dont get why fans want to put him in the RWB slot.. it is clear what type of player Amorim wants there.... a left footed winger who can dribble and cut in.

I mean just watch the 2 games, Amad and Antony get the ball alot 1 v 1 so he needs wingers in that position. The reason our RWB is paired up with a 10 who makes inside runs is to create overloads and a cut back in the box.

Mazroui has been so good, I would keep him in the back line because he is so intelligent. Look at the way he steps into defensive transitions and starts our own attacks.

He's one these players you always knew was good, but would only see him play in a CL match the odd time or at a major international tournament for his country. It's not until you see him play on a regular basis that you appreciate how good he really is. Fantastic player who has settled in effortlessly.

One of my favorite transfers in recent times. Like a Blind or Carrick before we need more players who are tactically highly intelligent and are willing to do whatever it takes for the team to win.

Ironic how all the money we've spent on players, one of our best signings is the cheapest ones.
Becoming a favourite.
You are very lucky with him.

He is absolutely not limited in attacking.
If he is ordered to attack than you will see a totally different Mazraoui. Have you never watched him at Ajax in attack? I am an Ajax fan so I know how good he is in attack.
He has the lungs to go up in attack and back in defence 90 min long. He was the one that created many chances for Ajax.

He's done quite well in every position other than the bizarre number 10 deployment.

I did think he was noticably worse on the left but he wasn't close to poor and with the ball looked a bit better than Dalot who is quite predictable looking to play passes inside. Its hard to be good in most performances when you are moved around because of versatility and injuries and hes coped with it better than any of our other players would.

Still don't understand why Bayern wanted rid, was it his injury record, or the fact we were paying big money to take De Ligt at the same time?

Given our transfer history with the top clubs I'm still a bit skeptical as to why we got him so easily, and so cheap.

It's not like De Ligt hasn't been decent aswell.

It all comes down to politics and the fans didn't like him either. Their loss is our gain. Love the guy.

Completely agree. We don’t have a player at the club more suited to the role he’s currently playing. Why change it?

Think his best performance of the season was against Chelsea when he played left back. Was incredible that day. I think LWB is a real problem position for us and think he's our best option at the minute. He's also our best RCB so we'd need to get Yoro up to speed to enable the switch. I think he's a solid 7/8 out of 10 wherever he plays so would benefit us better.

If the club were actually performing well on the whole I think he would be talked about the signing of the season. I don't see much talk about him outside of United fans which is a shame, because he is most likely the signing of the season.

Under hag = good
Under rooy = good
Under ruben = good

If all of our players have this level of fussbal knowledge we would be world champion. He is that player who can play anywhere and doesnt have a weakness due to his intelligence.
I missed the part where Keano took over . Disappointed
