Nordic Ghost Yeti (Scandi Carroll) | Haaland at City

Austrian league - 1.06 per game
Bundesliga - 0.93 per game
Premier League - 1 per game
International football - 0.94 per game
Champions League - 1.02 per game
Domestic cups - 1.1 per game

Basically a goal a game at every level, competition, team since he was 18.
Despite that he'll never play at an international tournament and will start every season far fitter than his contemporaries

He also scored 5 before subbed off at 60min in one knockout stage cl match.

-21/20 goalpoints against the traditional top 6 in 14 games depending on wich source you use. Not bad.
-Best CL ratio in history

Yes he can be anonymous against the very best, but why that makes him the only player in the world who would get a bunch of negative comments if he scored 5 against Southampton this season, I do not know.
In a game they won 7-0 anyway and would likely have won 4 or 5 nil with another striker. He's a flat track bully. He'll score 5 in a game when they don't need any goal contributions but then goes missing when it matters. He is probably the best scorer of irrelevant goals ever.

Despite that he'll never play at an international tournament and will start every season far fitter than his contemporaries
He’ll get to the Euros eventually at least, Norway have too many good players to keep failing there with 24 teams.

If true he knows what's coming and is back dooring it

Good. Feck off.

Although - knowing our luck, this article will turn out to be false, and he'll announce his commitment to City in the coming weeks by signing a new 5 year contract

Shit spanish papers does this every time they are bored. He will at the very least see out his contract, and then he will assess options available and how competetive we are post-Guardiola. I can actually see how close he is to Shearers record as something he will look at, but I definitely think he wants the big 2 in Spain at some point. But right now they have both made themselves unavailable. Barcelona is a shitshow that needs to show themselves as solid for a few years before they can attract someone as meticulous as Haaland, and Madrid is currently in the middle of finding out how to get the best out Vinicius, Mbappe and Bellingham and the answer to that is certainly not to put Haaland in the mix.

And since you probably want me to answer what happens if we get sent down; in that alternative universe he either just signs for another english club, might even be United or most likely Bayern gets a sniff, sells Kane back to England considering he is likely to want back at some point anyway and goes for the younger superstar like they tried with Lewandowski

The only realistic option is Barca and how could they possibly afford him? Even by their standards I can’t see what level of ‘creative’ accounting that could make it feasible in their current state.

Yes, all the signs points towards demotion down the leagues. Truly a club in freefall selling all their assets waiting for the inevitable doom.
Well, your DoF is leaving soon, and it sounds like your manager may follow suit. Perhaps they know what is coming, and are jumping ship?

Yes, the 60 year old DoF that actually planned to retire five years ago finally retiring and already replaced by one of the most sought after DoF's in europe really signals that the end is nigh. As does the media speculating that Guardiola for the 7th year running is in his last season, despite the more credible sources all reporting that he is most likely to do another season because of the timing of the Club World Cup. I certainly agree that the most likely reason if he leaves now after 9 years is because we are being sent down to where we belong, unlike when he quit after 4 seasons at Barcelona and 3 at Bayern where he just needed a change of environment.

I do find it a bit short-sighted though from our cynical but arguably very succesfull businessmen to sign off and start their huge renovation and building plans outside the stadium considering I assume these facilities would be more of a burden down in the conference, where they at this point surely knows we are heading considering how guilty we are. But I do think you can explain it away as a rush of blood type of decision, even for businessmen of their stature. Could happen to the best, a bit like United potentially throwing away precious time hiring Omar Berrada in a directorial role when his involvement in this will no doubt see him suspended from his work for a very long time. Even due diligence is faulty at times I guess

Also don't forget the kitman resigned. I actually thought we would be okay until that happened

Not sure why you're getting so defensive here. I was merely asking a question.

Perhaps posting in a United forum isn't a good idea if you're going to get this sarcastic and defensive over someone quite rightly asking if your DoF leaving at the end of the season, and your manager outright saying he is closer to leaving than staying, is a sign that your club is going to be punished and they are getting out before it hits?

Not sure why you're going to this much effort on a United forum. I doubt you'd find many City sympathizers on here.

I simply went into detail on how much I agreed

Like I said - not sure why you're going to so much trouble to make your point on a United forum.
Not a huge fan of echo chambers so I rather spend my insomnia on here. I'm well aware of the audience. If I spend a couple of minutes here and there to get my point across as you say I don't consider it that much trouble. I also don't think the sarcasm were that out of touch with your initial posts on the subject, a subject that understandably produces a much lower level of quality posts around here, compared to the standard

Just comes across like you're trying desperately to defend your club at all costs, and that you get the hackles up at the slightest hint that your club might be about to be found guilty.

Well he is defending his club at all cost. It’s a mixture of cognitive dissonance and the escalation of commitment syndrome. To be fair, many fans have those to varying degrees, no matter the club.

The thing is, though: The demotion and other punishments may or may not happen, but the damage is already done. The footballing world and fans anywhere see City for the cheats they are and City fans will forever have to celebrate any success insecurely inside their own echo chamber, trying to master the art of cognitive dissonance.

Oh and on topic: I don’t think it matters whether Haaland fits into Reals lineups, they will sign him regardless. They signed Mbappé who comes off the left like Vinicius and they won’t put too much thought into how Haaland fits. He’s in the top 10 of current football players and that’s enough for them to sign him should he make himself available.

Where did I defend anything?
You as you said "quite rightly asked" whether if a 60 year old man retiring could be seen as a sign the club is going to be punished severely. I answered with what you detected as sarcasm, despite what I wrote is literally the type of conclusions some people on here comes to. Pointing out that that the reality of what is going on at the club at the moment doesn't harmonise with a huge organisation that knows they are likely to be severely punished isn't a defense at all cost, it is just the reality.

I have no interest in defending something that we will be answered in due time anyway. As the other poster here says people have made up their mind a long time ago

You're giving sarcastic, bitter responses about how your club is planning for the future with "huge renovation and building plans" when facing the biggest footballing cheating scandal in recent history - on a rival clubs forum.

Plus you keep mentioning your DoFs age as if 60 is apparently ancient. You are defending your club at all costs.

You could have answered my question in a level headed manner and had a proper discussion about it. But instead you get all hostile and defensive.

I don't honestly know why you're bothering. It's not like you're going to win over any supporters around here. Most people on this forum despise your club and only see them as good for keeping Liverpool from trophies. I'm guessing you're just one of those City fans who enjoys arguing and trying to defend the indefensible.

Anyway I'm done with this conversation. I've wasted enough time on you. Keep shouting into the void.

Imagine being so good at football there are only 2-3 clubs in world football that you shuld even consider playing for

Cannot knock the guy, his conversion rate is probably ridiculous, give him chances and he will score goals.

I remember the days Andy ( Andrew ) Cole would score 2 and miss 8 chances.

Haaland would have scored an absolute ton of goals playing for our treble winning side.

Theres a thread in that, players who would have brutalised a different era. Kanchelskis would have be worth an outrageous fortune nowadays. Despite the fact he played in an era with wingers. Imagine him playing now against full backs that are predisposed to pushing up, and defensive lines on the halfway line. He could roast you on the outside or carry centrally.

Basically the player Traore promises to be for one match a Season.

None of what he said was even remotely a defence.
What he actually said and I'll spell it out for you so you can follow.
  • The DoF's retirement has been known for 5 years and his replacement is one of the highest sought after in Europe. That's not defending the club, its implying the club are confident, no where did he give his opinion No where does he say they are not guilty or either take an pro or anti-City stance on the charges. Its simple comprehension (again not something you show in any of your posts).
  • He said noises from within the club is Pep might extend for a season because of the club world cup. Again that's not defending the club, its a fact, If he does leave he'll leave having managed more matches for City, than Barca and Bayern combined after almost a decade. It's rare manager stay anywhere as long as he has. But again this implies the clubs stance and view on Peps future, no his.
  • He spoke about a lot of the work being done in or around the Etihad, again it implies the club is confident but not once did he give his own stance.
Your talk about hostility given I've seen you refer to Cities entire fanbase as rotten etc... is hilarious. You spout nothing but aggressive shit at City fans and then start whinging "why are you hostile" when given a bit of sarcasm.

As for telling him where and what he should post, the purpose of a forum is chat, discussion etc... your telling him his posts aren't wanted or he shouldn't make them is downright stupid, the caf have made it pretty clear with how welcoming they are to opposition supporters, that they are absolutely allowed to speak how they like (within reason) and that they DON'T want an echo chamber. This place has literally had opposition supporters as mods. If you don't like it, instead of telling others they shouldn't post here, maybe just maybe these forums aren't the place for you.

I don't care if I'm banned for this but you're a 40 year old manbaby with poor reading comprehension gatekeeping a discussion forum. Do yourself a favour and if you can give it out as often as you do, at least take it back without crying

I just asked a simple question - he was the one getting all defensive. I simply said if he is going to get that defensive then perhaps posting on a United forum isn't the right thing for him to be doing?

And yes - I do hate City's fan base for the most part because they're the most awful fans I've come across. This is a United forum - he knew what he was signing up for when he joined. As did you. My question was not disrespectful and invited further discussion.

Anyway I'm not interested in this conversation any further.

Excessive bad language

You 'remember', do you? More likely you've swallowed Glenn Hoddle's braindead BS wholesale. I've yet to see a detailed statistical breakdown from anybody (least of all Hoddle) of Cole's ratio of missed chances. Which leads me to believe that the notion that he missed way more than his peers is nonsense. Especially as Cole has a higher goal to game ratio in the Prem than Shearer, if you exclude penalties.

Every striker misses chances. Every striker misses sitters in fact. Haaland, however, is on another level probably to anyone in Prem history when it comes to pure goalscoring, and is certainly on another level to Cole, so at least you got that part right.

And you didn't get the answer you wanted.

Your first post on the matter was also about Haaland being excited about playing in the lower divisions or something silly like that so no idea why you try and take the high road about sarcasm

Must be good to intentionally misinterpret someone's post to top red, get called out and say you aren't interested in discussing.

it's also good that you who are in the forum 6 months can tell folk here for ten years about the forum they signed up for. When I signed up here the atmosphere was very different and the vitriol that you come out wasn't very common. The place was buzzing cause you'd just got first LVG and then Jose and Pogba, the banter was good natured, light hearted and a ton of fun despite focusing a lot on our owners and what kind of people they are

Hating people is unhealthy for you so I'm sorry to hear you feel that way about hundreds of thousands of people you've never met or had any interaction with.
Doing so over a sport and team those people have no control over in a world that has the issues it has going on even more baffling but you do you.

He will go to Madrid. I can see them selling a top player to get him in. They are ruthless
Doesn't he have some pre-set plan about how he's going to play for a few years in all the big leagues?

I though he was completely anonymous today and contributed nothing, he is absolutely woeful when chances arnt put on a plate for him.

Not often I agree but today he was shocking. He doesn't get involved a lot in most games but today he seemed to do a lot of moaning and not a lot or runs like he usually does. Kinda just stood there like a bit whining statue.

I never watch City (why would you?) but was with a Wolves fan today who had the game on. Couldn't believe how poor Haaland was. Was expecting fireworks given his goals record yet couldn't believe how completely anonymous he was throughout. One of those days, I guess.

Dawson always does a good job on marking him
He scored a hat trick when daws was injured in the away game last season
