You just described countless great goals in history. That is what football is all about.This is incorrect, there was nothing Haaland just threw a boot at the ball and got a lucky flick than caused it to bounce beyond the keeper
People (righfully) still admires Rooneys bicycle kick despite him botching it a bit technically, connecting with his shin and not cleanly with his foot. But the thought of even attempting it and how aestetically pleasing it is to look at is what makes it a great goal. Even as a City fan I of course hate that goal but can still admit how awesome it was in isolation.
The improvisation, the fact that the ball ended up in the corner of the goal, and the fact that a big f*cker like Haaland can both plan and execute an acrobatic move like that on the fly is what made the goal so good.
