Not to mention we could really use simply an experienced defender like it was in pretty much every United's era during last twenty years.

The sleeping giant must awaken.

At club level all of Evans, Jones and Smalling have bigger game experience than Otamendi. He may bring many (good) things but experience isn't one of them.

Whilst we have have an unhappy De Gea, Johnny Evans, an injury prone Jones and Blind at CB.......

I never wanted Otamendi anyway, even when I said I did. Nope.

Confirmed :(

If anyone wants reassuring go to read Hunter's Twitter page, he seems to think he's coming to OT if anywhere.

This is what we get, people, for messing around for the whole summer chasing after Ramos who, lets face it, was never attainable. Would you really blame Otamendi if he did just think "you had your chance... You didn't take it and i was the last ditch option".

Only negative stories/links /screenshots are truthful though. Why would we believe in something from hunter when he's saying positive, and we have perfectly good negative screen shot from UEFA site to moan about.

If one of the good things you meant is tracking movement of attacking player and matching speed with him plus perfectly timing a tackle then that alone is a reason to take a look at this player and consider him as potential target. Just like Sergio Romero he has solid tournaments under his belt but perhaps there's an alternative for LvG that is away from the media spotlight just like in Pedro's case...

The funny one is Carlos Bacca. Sevilla, now AC Milan, now manchester city (small letters just like as roma)

City being interested makes perfect sense. All these attacking players will not win them the title unless they improve the 6 behind them.

Absolutely Van - it's imperative really we get experience in & this will enable the beast to rise again.

Also, we only have to look at all our successful years under Fergie to see that CB partnerships were the cornerstone of all our teams: Brucie & Pally, Johnsen & Stam, Rio & Vida.

We dont have that & dont look like ever having that level of quality with what we have at the moment - bar Smalling.

I'm really warming to Smalling now. He's continuing on from his form, from the 2nd half of last season & that's fantastic. He's taking the opportunity by the horns & will get even better & more composed.

It bodes extremely well for him & us & i stand totally corrected, as i had serious doubts he could improve, but he has & massive respect to him for that.

I'd hate to see Stones going to Chelsea too though - that would haunt us for the next 10-15 years. The one that got away because he wasnt left-footed ;)

Get the impression we were never interested in Otamendi this summer.

Woody dithering as usual, thinking that we could ever sign Ramos in a million years, and now we'll lose this one as well! Good signing for City this.
