NFL Season Begins Tonight...

what are the Broncos needs?

I think they could grab Omar Jacobs @ QB if the washington pick is high enough, and maybe grab Derrick Hagan if he's still on the board with their next pick.

there are a couple of great OL's coming out for them to choose from.

Winston Justice is awesome at RT
Marcus McNeill is Awesome at tackle as well
D'Brickashaw Ferguson is awesome as well.

How you managed to miss the two UT tackles, Jonathan Scott and Justin Blalock, is beyond explanation. Both are highly rated, and Scott has been named pre-season All-American by many publications. He's huge- 6'6", 315, with agility and quickness. I believe Scott is projected as a high draft pick by many boards, mainly since he's a natural LT.

I can't believe how incompetent/undisciplined the Chargers defense played yesterday. Gave that game away with 5+ 3rd down penalties that extended drives for Dallas. Cowboys were shit, otherwise. Slightly gutted about that result.

Perhaps you forgot how Dallas tried to give the game away in the first half with turnovers and penalties. In the end, an evenly played game where both teams made mistakes but one team stepped up in the last 6 minutes and stole victory from the jaws of defeat.

Sour grapes.

Bitter.

Hatred.

Words to describe your post. ;)

I hate the Giants, I have always hated them. They suck. They are a New Jersey team. :lol:

:lol: :lol: :lol:

I just love that. It's one thing I love to tell Giants fans when they talk smack.

"Cowboys suck."

"The Giants play in New Jersey and are the second fav team in that state, behind the Jets."

Silence. Blank stare. Walks away.

What are you talking about? The Jets are just the Jets, you can't take them that seriously. The Cowboys have a great history, they are just a bunch of shit-heads. Slightly more tolerable than the Eagles mind you, but just barely.

1-Nil to the referee, 1-Nil to the referee :devil:

good god, what a game yesterday at mile high ... first half was horrific (how can you not account for LT in the red zone, mr. coyer?), but then things started to get interesting and the d played one hell of a 2nd half. could´ve easily been a much bigger win considering the chances we missed.

one red zone interception, one goal line fumble, 2 missed field goals and TWO TDs that were called back due to plain stupidity. foster threw a punch at an oliner for putzier´s td and when darrent williams returned that punt 3 people started running onto the field. :rolleyes:

the o-line is concerning. dayne looked very good on that last drive. nice job running down the clock and he got 40 yards on 7 or 8 carries ... props to champ bailey for waking up the team with his interception return ...

The Bucs have a running game!!! :eek:

Cadillac giving us the win again. Our defense is holding up like it used to, hopefully we can get our wideouts into the game now. First 2-0 start in 4 seasons.

What will the anti-Glazer brigade say if the Bucs have a good season and make the playoffs? I suppose no more mentioning of the salary cap stripping (which every club does each season or every 2-3 seasons). :lol:

The horror. I feel for these loons.

haha I've gotten some schtick from some Brits living over here for being "from FL and supporting the Bucs, and United fan to boot". Funny as hell.

My Chargers are 0-2 and I'm not happy :mad:

The Giants play tonight as "visitors" at home to New Orleans. While I think Big Blue will win that one, I'm beginning to worry about that trip to San Diego next week. It's really a must win for the Chargers and before the season started I felt they had the talent to take the AFC West. Given the state of the Chiefs, they might not, but I do expect the Bolts to move up the standings rapidly.

Next 4 weeks:

Giants in SD - should pummel 'em
@New England - ugh
Steelers in SD - ugh
@Oakland - should beat 'em

Looks like 2-4 to me :(

Kenny, comments on Pennington´s latest injury? Or you more into baseball mood right now?

Chad's out for the season with that shoulder - too bad Jets. Spikes is out in Buffalo so their defence, that's been giving up huge yards on the ground, just got worse. Looks like New England and Miami 1 & 2 in the AFC East.

Chargers won this week :)

Sounding a bit more confident than you were on the 20th.
That's what a lot of LT can do for you :)

'Sides, the Pats are having bad injury problems. If the Chargers can stop them a few times we actually stand a chance.

You guys should be able to outscore Pittsburgh, if your offensive line can continue to give Brees time to throw and LT carries the ball around 25-30 times.

Has anyone seen a worse team start off 3-0 than the current Washington team? Talk about more luck. That will eventually end. Getting that horrible ref call on PI that gifted the Redskins possession inside the Seattle 5 yard line and subsequently 7 points (it was a legit play by the Seattle CB, which resulted in an interception by the Seattle LB). And then Kris Brown hitting the upright as time expired. And then converting 3 straight 3rd downs in OT. Total luck. They should have lost to Chicago in week 1. They should have lost to Dallas in week 2. And Seattle should have beaten them. They've yet to overwhelm an opponent. Brunell does look reborn and the defense is top notch, but this team is nowhere near as good as 3-0 implies.

Marcello, I know some guys who can´t wait to get their hands on Clinton Portis next Sunday.

Flash, remember I asked you not to give me Green Bay, and you did. well thanks a lot.
now I'll watch the MNF tonight to see if they can get into the win column.

It will be another good test. Going in I didn't see us breaking the Pats' 3-year home undefeated streak but I guess we caught them at the right time. As for the Steelers, I think we'll move the ball against them but the question is can we stop them. Roth-burger is going to see a whole lot of pressure from the D in order to protect our corners (who are crap). Look for a big day from Hines Ward.

I don't see them winning tonight unless the NFL has ordered the refs to 'help Brett'.

The Favres should win tonight. Like with the Saints, it's all part of the "Help the victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita" campaign.

Likley, considering how crap that division is...and that 7 wins might win it. So the NFL might be conpsiring to ensure the Packers get 7 wins and have a shot come week 17. ;)

Can you imagine an 8-8 or 7-9 team winning the division? And in the process, a 9 or 10 win team is forced to sit at home. The beauty of 4 team divisions.

you might want to rephrase that jens...sounds a bit "poofy" ;)

You know what I mean. If not, call Ronnie Brown, LT, Priest Holmes, Larry Johnson or Fred Taylor and they´ll explain. :)

Let´s just say this Bronco D is looking pretty good. Especially the front four.

Nothing shocks me in the NFC nowadays after I´ve seen an 8-8 make it to the playoffs.

BTW, I saw Tim Couch on Saturday.

Bagging groceries. I tipped him $3, and told him it would have been more if he wouldn't have cost me $30 on that game back in October 2001.

The same front four that was in Cleveland recently. WTF is the difference? Was the coaching that horrendous in Cleveland?

Well, there´s a few reasons. The biggest in my opinion is the Denver LBs, who are all quick as shit and considerably better than what Cleveland had at the position. Having Trevor Pryce back at full health obviously doesn´t hurt, either. Also I think there was a reason why Warren and Courtney Brown were top 5 picks, so they have to have some talent at least. Warren´s in a contract year, btw.

Our rookie CBs have done a pretty good job so far, too. Williams is making plays and Foxworth looked really solid in his first start v the Jax and even had a pick. Would be a very nice change if Shanahan missed on the rookie RB but hit on a CB.

Don't try and big-up the Denver-D until we see IF they can win a decent game on the road. We all know that Denver gets a great deal of help at Mile High from the air and the refs. If they get out of the AFC-West they look like a wildcard and they won't win on the road.

Watch the Jacksonville game again, thanks. And that was without both starting corners. BTW, we had a top 5 D the past 2 seasons, as well, and both home wins surely didn´t come down to refereeing decisions. Bear in mind we had 2 TDs called back v San Diego and dominated Kansas City.

I don't watch Denver, their uni's give me the creeps ;) The altitude does appear to help them a great deal when playing at home. We'll see how the Broncos do on the road.

Final-----------------1-----2-----3-----4------T
Philadelphia (3-2-0)---0----3------7-----0-----10
Dallas (3-2-0)--------17---10-----3-----3-----33
PHI: D. McNabb (13-26, 131), T. Owens (5-50)
DAL: D. Bledsoe (24-35, 289), T. Glenn (7-118)

Eat that Philly fans. And why no act from McNabb-Owens like the little side show they did during last year's big win in Dallas? Funny how Owens tends to dissappear and not run his mouth when Philly get served. Philly can't run the ball, can't stop the run, and for having 3 Pro-Bowl players in the secondary, sure looked like a deer in the headlights on Sunday.

If Parcells will now realize that the passing game of Dallas is our best means to win, this team could get hot quickly. The Boys have the receivers to make plays and a QB to deliver. And this D is starting to look lively.

TO after and before the game Sunday.

I used to think the Redskins were 3-0 because they were pretty lucky, but they have a pretty good team after all. Some terrible calls on both teams by the zebras tho.

Redskins are vastly over-rated. They are very fortunate to not be 1-3 or 0-4. They have a standout defense, the offense has come alive with Brunell, but overall, they're an average team, at best. Come week 16, they'll probably be sitting on 5 or 6 wins, like every season. In 2003, they started 3-1, and finished 5-11. Just look at they're recent seasons.

2004: Win opener, Lose next 4 -> finish 6-10 (2nd-3 way tie)
2003: Win opener & 2 of next 3, lose next 4 -> finish 5-11 (3rd)
2002: Win opener, lose 4 of next 5 -> finish 7-9 (3rd)
2001: Lose first 5, win next 5, lose 3 of 4 -> finish 8-8 (2nd)
2000: Win opener, 6-2 at half-way mark -> finish 8-8 (2nd)
1999: Win Division 10-6, lose in divisional playoffs on botched FG attempt
1998: Lose first 7 -> finish 6-10 (4th)
1997: Win opener & 2 of next 3 -> finish 8-7-1 (3rd)
1996: Lose opener, win next 7, NFC best 7-1 at half-way mark -> finish 9-7 (miss playoffs)

1996 my favorite Redskins collapse when some were mentioning Washington overtaking Dallas as the NFC East 'beast' and idiots like Joe Theismann (no rose tinted glasses for this clown :rolleyes: ) stating, "The Redskins will be in the NFC title game, at least," around week 8 or 9.
