NFL Season Begins Tonight...

Only negatives- United drew and the Deadskins somehow managed to beat Tampa Bay. Rather enjoyable weekend for me despite the two negatives.
why? you support them?

That bet is probably down, but after their shambolic display against the Chargers, it seems obvious to me that Flanders will contrive to feck it up for the Colts in the playoffs. The guy chokes under pressure and i have layed them at 5/4 for the Superbowl. It`s like buying money.

So far so good.
GO STEELERS

GO STEELERS

They've completely shut the Colts down. Manning is not being allowed to operate. As for the Steelers - they never lose when in this position.

Steelers v Seahawks Superbowl anyone?

Awful call by the ref to disallow the Polamalu interception. Cost the Steelers 8 points. The Colts have unzipped the straightjacket somewhat.

Jeeebus feck CHRIST. What a feckin fix. These officials should be arse raped if Flanders and co prevail. Stinks to high heaven this.

Steelers win - just.

Carolina @ Chicago now. Should be a good game. My first chance to see Steve Smith and DeShaun Foster this season too.

Amazing start - Smith with a TD after just 55 seconds. You don't normally see the Bears opened up like that. Converted.

Because it will be. No dominant team. No star power. Second class franchises (by this I mean in terms of big club, like Dallas or Green Bay or NY Giants or Pittsburgh or San Francisco, the creme-de-la-creme of the NFL).

Actually, it will be nice to see a team like Seattle in the Super Bowl. Denver without Elway would be odd. But better than Pittsburgh. I don't like the Steelers, never have. I think the fans of Carolina and Seattle deserve a winner. Denver's had their day in the sun, but should they win, congrats. Something doesn't seem right if Jake Plummer is a champion, but then Dilfer is a champion too. Pittsburgh fans have lived through some fantastic "choke" jobs in the AFC title games of late (94, 97, 01, 04) and the loss to Dallas in SB XXX. Maybe not playing in Pittsburgh is the perfect remedy. A SB win for that city would be long overdue, but I'd rather they suffer another year.

I'm pulling for the Broncos in that game, and whomever wins the NFC is fine by me. Either team is worthy. However, without Foster, I don't see Carolina winning the Super Bowl. But Delhomme and Smith are on a roll right now. I see Seattle vs Denver in Detroit. Don't know who I would pick to win at the moment, but I'd most likely root for Seattle.

Goings did well for Carolina last year when Stephen Davis got injured towards the end of the season. I actually think it will be a Panthers/Broncos at the end. Seattle did really well in the regular season but they've had a really easy schedule (arizona, st. louis, san fransisco all twice and then houston, philly and tennessee once among their wins).

Denver, playing at home, were destroyed by the Steelers. Pittsburgh got all over them early and pummeled them forcing fumbles & interceptions. way to go for the Bus, playing a Super Bowl in his hometown.

Marcie called this one wrong. Twas a great Super Bowl, with the Steelers shining throughout. They had displayed both great defense and offense against a hard offensive club, both on the ground and in the air. The Rolling Stones weren't that bad either at half-time, for a group of guys that are in their 60's.

worst super bowl ive ever seen ... bar none

they should´ve given the mvp award to the guys in black and white. im not saying they deliberately tried to screw the seahawks, but it stinks that EVERY close and crucial call went against seattle. the offensive pass interference on darrell jackson was a joke and took a touchdown off the board, it seems like roethlisberger didnt get the touchdown on that 3rd down, the holding call on the pass to stevens that would´ve given seattle a 1st and goal from the 1 was a joke as one steelers player was offsides, the 15 yard penalty on the tackle by hasselbeck was ridiculous and they also missed a horse collar tackle by porter on shaun alexander. also holmgren had to use a challenge to get a fumble overturned. if ben had fumbled that ball they´d have never said seattle ball to begin with.

again, im not saying they tried to fix this, but i like watching good football games and it´s a shame when the outcome of such a big game is influenced by the guys in black and white and when they take center stage. just let the guys play and don´t try to make a name for yourselves.

im no steelers hater, far from it, they actually are one of the few nfl team i like, and im usually rooting for the afc in the super bowl, but the refs yesterday made me root for seattle.
