Nfl 2008-2009

It's in Denver, so I can't see past the Broncos, Brees never played well their as well

:(

Of all the teams to finally lose to after the streak.

Miami our nearly imperfect division rivals, I suppose its funny in a way.

Joey Porter is actually backing up his talk for once. Three sacks.

New England lost? To Miami. hahahahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Nice Buck and Aikman are the commentators for the Broncos game, they are great

To be fair Miami are usually a dodgy team for the Pats, except for last year of course. The difference is there was no Thomas or Taylor this time.

Pennington always played well for the Jets as well.

Denver would probably do likewise it would be an entertaining Super Bowl, did you see the article about Romo, Cuter et al. I posted

Grammatica shanked his field goal wide right. Denver survives again.

Looking forward to Dallas @ Green Bay tonight. GB is minus Bigby and Woodson might not be fully fit so that could spell trouble in the secondary. Cowboys are without Roy Williams which is probably a good thing against the pass.

Denver would have scored if they needed to, that 3rd down stop was the key

Hahaha just saw the highlights of the Pats game, they havent beat that bad at home since the Broncs were up there and Sharpe called the National Guard for them. Seriously Cassell is out of his depth, he didn t even start a game at USC, he has the tools, but No experience, and he plays the most important position unless he is a real quick learner its not gonna work

First game I missed this year, the 2 I have watched Cassel has looked good enough to cope, but looking at the replays now.. feck me he looked awful today.

Im hoping he learns quick, I know obviously Alex, you are hoping he does not. Would be a nice "Americas Game" segment though in the future :D

Good enough isnt Tom Brady. Although I dont agree with him in the top 5 or even 10 status for him, he is the best quarterback this side of Peyter and Cassel is one of the worst in teh league that makes a difference look at the Denver 98 team v. the Denver 99 team

Hell muller, I think it would be hilarious if he did great and took Brady's job, but come on that isnt gonna happen

O no dont get me wrong, not for 1 second was I contemplating Cassel takes Bradys job - but pats have a strong enough individual makeup on offense, moss, welker, even gaffney is playing well, but without Brady to make it all work, they just dont seem to click.

In other news, im joining my local team hopefully soon, cant wait to get back into it.

You know Brad Johnson did the same and he fared quite well in Minnesota after a few rough starts once thrust into action.

Cassell looked like a deer in the headlights today but where was the Pats O-line? I didn`t see them either! Still, I wouldn`t be surprised if the Pats looked for another option at QB.

Moss is in danger of becoming a problem also....

should be a great match tonight. Looks like the NFC has the greater strength in depth this year.

Griese had a good season but you can never win when you follow a legend. Look at Danny White - he was a PB caliber QB who took Dallas to three consecutive NFC championship games after succeeding Staubach. He just never got them over that hump. He also didn't have the "it" that separates the good from the great.

BTW, Denver's season was over when Terrell was injured early in the season. It was he not Elway that carried the Broncos from 96-98.

THey wouldnt have won that pussy ass screen to TD had Elway been in there, nor would they had been 0-2 going into the game

Sadly that ruined TD's career, one that was already special and could have been really special

I'm still surprised they told Simms to take a hike before trying out. That's Belicunt for you though. Lacks class. Simms is better than Cassell by any stretch of the imagination.

Moss is in danger of becoming a problem also.... if they start losing he may well become a cancer

These things are cyclical. Eventually the NFC was going to rise back to dominance. The AFC will do so again. It will keep repeating like that for a while per usual.

Griese still gets a raw deal in Denver. He was a good, solid QB. I wanted him in Dallas after Denver released him. FFS management was counting on Quincy fecking Carter. They went a faux pas 10-6 that year and had they possessed a decent QB they could have won 11 or 12 games which could have been the difference versus a road wild card game and homefield advantage.

GB is playing good D against Dallas so far. Romo needs to stop his red zone turnovers - does it far too much but I suppose it's better than turning it over inside his own 20.

Felix Jones is friggin' fast. I don't recall Dallas having a back that could turn a corner like that. He blew right past that GB player. Wow!

Ya know I kinda think you are right, he had a really really good season were he stuck in, and played through injury htough we lost in the WX. The Snake took us to a the AFC championship game, I will be shocked if Culter doesnt win the Superbowl in the next 5 years for us, we have a QB and top WR not even in their prime, both who are gonna be special. It's days like today I wish we would have kept Clinton Portis, the man could have put up near TD numbers and well, an offense like than won Denver 2 Superbowls

We all know it's Shanahan's system that produces RBs not the other way around. Portis was a beast in Denver but it was the blocking schemes that helped him excel. How many 1,000 yard backs have they had in Shanahan's era? Quite a few.

Cutler reminds some of Aikman. If he's half as good Denver should win plenty of games over the next 5-10 years providing he remains healthy.

He has a better arm than Aikman imo, although Aikman has 3 rings and is a HOF. Also a great color commentator. Yeah if he is have as good as Aikman I will be pleased, if he is half as good as Elway I reckon he could become an extremely special player in Shannys system

I don't know about a better arm - Aikman had a strong arm too but was rarely asked to throw deep balls in that offense. He best attribute was his accuracy - the best of any QB I ever saw. He was money on posts and slants.

The NFC East is the class of the NFL. Dallas is probably the deepest and most talented team in the league right now but need to prove it in January. NYG did prove it last season and are doing the right things to win at the moment. Philly looks class as well. Washington not so much and can't wait for Dallas to pound them. I'd be shocked if the NFC East is not representing the NFC in the Super Bowl.

34 yd fumble return, 21-3 Broncos

TD Denver, 7-0

Nice 35 yd TD catch by Marshall, 14-3

Broncos are close to blowing another huge lead today. That D is pitiful.

No credit to the saints then for getting into gear on offense? Ok.

34-32 Broncs!

Grammatica shanked his field goal wide right. Denver survives again.

It wasn't that easy a kick. Good effort by the saints; I didn't think we would keep the score that close. Damn Denver are good. Alex, I think it'll be the saints and broncos in the superbowl this year.

He had the same problems that he did in the other games in the red zone, the offensive line did not help him much in this game. When you have not got Brady's line calls, decision making and quick release the line is going to be made to look ordinary out there. Light is not a pro bowl level left tackle and is made to look much better than he is by Brady and Kaczur stinks. Mankins and a healthy Neal are the only ones on the line that are that level of player for me. If the problems continue near the goal line I can see Belichick getting creative in there and bringing O'Connell in for certain situations.

Alex how can you still try and downplay how good a quarterback Brady is, especially in comparison to Manning? He constantly outplayed him in the big playoff games for years and when Manning finally beat him in the AFC championship game it was more because of a meltdown by the Pats. I add, Brady was doing this with scrub recievers like David Givens all that time (although a better defence) while he had the likes of Wayne and Harrison. When Brady finally got some weapons we all know what happened. They are both excellent and probably top ten already with Brady ahead at the moment for me. If he would have finished the job last year and won his fourth Superbowl the idiots in the press would have probably been placing him alongside Montana.

Damn Denver are good. Alex, I think it'll be the saints and broncos in the superbowl this year.

If Denver keep giving up 400+ yards on defense per game they'll get slaughtered in the playoffs against a quality defense that will limit their offense.

New Orleans hasn't a chance to win the NFC if they meet a NFC East foe in the playoffs. I can't see that NO's D containing Dallas or Philly while those two plus NYG have the quality on defense to contain NO. They already lost to the 4th best team in the East (Washington).
