Neymar Da Silva

It's very easy to dislike him.

its pathetic that footballers choose to play the game this way. its cheating and its bullshit. any team I ever played with was full of characters that would tell you to cop the feck on if you dived like that. never mind the opposition

Chirst, horrible diving going on there. For all his talents, this side of his game is disgusting.

Edit:

Neymar, by far the most hyped player on the pitch and certain to leave -- Real Madrid appears favourite but Chelsea and Manchester City are also in the hunt -- was hugely disappointing. He began on the right, but was marshaled with a brusqueness he clearly didn't relish by the 36-year-old Dario Rodriguez, his booking for a dive after 19 minutes a sign of his frustration. He had far more joy when he drifted infield or operated on the left.

Brazilians have gone completely batshit crazy over this kid. You can't turn on a single football talk-show without hearing that Neymar is the 3rd best player in the world, behind C. Ronaldo and Messi.

On one hand the hype gets on my nerves, so I come to the Caf to calm down. On the other hand, I feel sorry for Brazilian football fans and their lack of a world-class Brazilian attacking player (there are a few in defense). Its what's created this bizarre hype, Brazilians need their hero, need their self-affirmed superiority going into 2014. If they ever realized that this isn't currently the foremost football power in the world (surpassed by Spain) they might go into serious depression.

Wow that video is just disgusting! He is a perfect fit for Real Madrid.. I hope they spend the buyout clause for him and get him..

Santos have confirmed that five clubs have met Neymar's release clause of €45million (£40.3million) and they have been given permission to talk with the Brazilian sensation.

The clubs are understood to be Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City and Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala.

Love the way how shittys name keep cropping up when they know they don't have a chance.

Hope he doesn't go to either Chelsea or City, the horrible diving twat is pretty good.

Sugar daddy? Never heard of them, tbh.

Barcelona? Wow. Along with their Sanchez and Fabregas bids, they really are being muppets. He will most likely end up at Madrid or Chelsea, though you can see City offering a 19 (he is 19 and not 18 right?) year old crazy wages.

I just don't see how he is going to fit in/get game time at either Barcelona or Madrid?

Reminds me of my quest to book a musical act for my 25th birthday. I'd narrowed it down to Radiohead, Bob Dylan, The Pixies, Tom Waits or Howard off the Halifax adverts.

Oh, I see. That's where he recently walked off the field for the banana incident?

Any idea how they can suddenly afford to bid 40M on a player?

Their new owner is a big shot within Russia and someone who's on Forbes' top 150 richest.

I did not even know that club existed until today. Its really between Madrid and Chelsea.

The club are close to getting Dzsudzsak too, one of the standout players in the Eredivisie apparently, so they've obviously got more appeal than you'd first think.

£40m for a kid from Brazil just sounds ridiculous. If Lucas and Ganso both do similarly then it represents a huge change in the way the Brazilian-European (and probably South America-European) transfer market works nowadays.

Are Barca having some sort of one club race towards bankruptcy?

Thats why we have our own club down there mwuahahaha

It seems a lot of South American players fancy a spell in Russia or teh Ukraine - obviously they make massive wages, as well as being able to play week in week out instead of sitting on teh bench at a top club.

As regards Neymar I bet Arsenal are clapping their hands that Santos have made this public - Barca coming to them and pleading poverty in their pursuit for one of the top PL midfield players wheny they'll spunk £40 million on a kid from Brazil.

Utter madness.

He's already signed for them.

I find it hard to believe that Barcelona are among the five clubs mentioned. They're going to get Sanchez, who fits their style better, for a somewhat lower fee.

This kid has "new Robinho" written all over him more than "new Pele" as some Brazilians like to hail him. You just see him club hopping to the highest bidder throughout his career, annoying his own fans and opposition fans alike with his diving and bratish persona as he goes along. He'll make a few bob for himself but will pay for it in terms of failing to maximise his potential.

I think this new Robinho thing's a very tired, ill-informed perception of him personally - there's some similarities and I can see why people would compare the two, but to simply predict he's going to follow the same career path is a little ridiculous. There's big differences between the two.

He's exceptionally talented. In amongst all the stuff about the quality of opposition, his play-acting on the field, his questionable maturity off it at times, I think people are beginning to forget this. His potential is huge. His ability isn't in question, it's just a question of how well he makes use of it.

All the people comparing him to Robinho need to remember that even half-arsed he still took the piss out of English defences on occasion, he was still one of the best players in the world in 08', he's still been very influential for Brazil in spurts (I'd argue he's been more consistent and influential than most at a time when Brazil have struggled to produce attacking talent), he's still been very influential for Milan (see Di Canio praising him). He didn't just become some no mark, mediocre footballer. He just didn't reach his potential because he's a whiny gimp.

And Neymar's better than him. Was just watching Robinho's game v Corinthians the other day and it's not just that Neymar has more ability but he's influencing games to a bigger degree. He made his debut for Brazil with the full national team a full 4 years earlier than Robinho did. He'll be moving to Europe a full two years younger. The bloke's got a long way to go but people need to realise he's got a very good starting point and there is genuinely huge potential in him.

Saying that I think the agent's maybe talking rubbish and he probably won't go for his release clause fee.

Quintet meet Neymar asking price - FourFourTwo

Five clubs have met Santos' valuation of £40.3million for him according to their president, insane money to be paying.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City and Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala are all said to have lodged bids for the 19-year-old and have been given permission to talk to the player over a potential move.

Never seen him play, but the price is a HUGE gamble for an unproven kid. The Brazilian league is not a great league defensively, so you don't know how he will cope with the well drilled defences in Europe.

I think Santos president is full of shit.

There are obviously clubs out that are there interested in Neymar but there's no chance in hell five(!) clubs agreed to pay his release clause.

£40m seems cheap considering Hulk's agent said today that his client is worth more than £67m.
