Neymar Da Silva

Neymar definitely wouldn't play as the lone striker under Mourinho.

Not that Madrid's troubles were scoring goals to begin with, but hey, whatever makes those muppet fans in Madrid happy.

If true, some clubs are going to be benefitting from a little fire sale, similar to Sneijder etc.

This lad was always bound to hit the heights, it was just a matter of where. Brazilians typically have more success in Spain than they do in England, whether it be the climate, language or style of football.

A bit more...

Bronzetti is his agent & he has apparently confirmed it. Reports also saying he's been offered a deal of €2 million a year

Allegedly the price agreed is €32 million.
thought to be 10 million.
Real Madrid have agreed a deal to sign Neymar from Santos, according to agent Ernesto Bronzetti. The Italian transfer guru claimed on Sky Sport Italia that Jose Mourinho's team have secured the 19-year-old prodigy for a €32 million fee on a five year contract worth €10m to the player.
Still amazing how Real splash the cash.

Maureen still prefers a Drogba powerhouse?

Lukaku bid? ;)

Yep, can't seem to play any other way! Even at that I don't think he could play up top on his own for any team, I'm not sure I've ever seen him play there. Seen him play wide right more times than right up top.

He normally plays off the left of the main striker doesn't he?

Yep. Depending on the team he goes to I'd expect him to play just off the striker in a two striker system or as a wide attacker from the left in a three man attack.

So neymar is a bit like Pato - both prefer to play on the wings and then come inside - ala Henry?

If he has signed - what does that mean for Higuain / Benzema / Adebayor

I know Ade is on loan but the likelihood now of him signing on for Real will be viertually nil.

That club are crazy.

Why anyone would sign for them unless they KNEW they were amongst the best in the world is beyond me.

that's what some lads said about ozil and higuain when he signed (afterall higuain signed when he was younger and less established than neymar).

you can't make a blanket statement like for all youth. Some have the talent to break into to a place like RM.

If you are good enough, you'll play. I think neymar will be quite fine at madrid unfortunately. Would loved to have seen him come here for instance.

I think it's a terrible decision because I don't think he'll learn much at Real but he's obviously got plenty to learn at 19. There he'll be expected to start every match and keep Di Maria out the team.

It's not just Real, it's going to play under Mourinho that I think's a bad choice for him. With Ronaldo in the side and probably a centre forward as well, he'll have to develop an ability to track back and defend, which doesn't suit a player like him in the least. Plus Mourinho's track record in developing young players to maximise their talent is more-or-less non-existant.

I just think having the choice to move anywhere he wants, picking them is fairly stupid considering the players who've been there and haven't been given much of a chance to succeed like:

Anelka
Sneijder
Van der Vaart
Luis Enrique
Gago
Savio
Robinho
Robben

Probably Benzema and maybe Ozil now as well

Well yes but Neymar's even less suited to it, which is why when they've played together for Brazil it's been Pato through the middle and Neymar on the left. I think he's more like Robinho positionally - eventually he'll be able to play that role but he'll always be best as a supporting attacker of some kind, from either wing or behind the striker. I don't think he'd have all that much effect on Benzema or Higuain for the time being, unless it meant Ronaldo playing through the middle more often. Di Maria might be the one to drop out.

I wouldn't take this rumour too seriously though, a few months ago he'd signed for Barcelona.

Neymar is like Robinho

So if Neymar is more like Robinho then he will be up against Di Maria and Ronaldo - both of whom were excellent last season and its not really an area I thought Real lacked.

He'll be warming the bench.

wen you are 19, starting for o selecao game in game out up top, you have the confidence and feel that you are amongst the best in thew world.

It's easy for lads to say 'oh a player shouldn't go there, they must be idiots'...however 99% of us have no clue how we'd think in the same position as we've never have been in that position with that kind of talent. Your whole mental make up is different.

I don't disagree that Madrid is fecking hard to make it as a youngster and there are easier 'top clubs' to be at as a youngster. But youth can make it there, and perhaps neymar is one.

Neymar looks like a talent, but something tells me this is going to be Robinho all over again.

Even though this isn't confirmed yet it would be a very Real Madrid signing, and he doesn't really seem like a Mourinho signing to me.

There are no signs from Neymar himself that I am aware of that he is at all like Robinho, the way he conducted himself when he wanted out of Real Madrid was beyond pathetic.

It was reported that Ernesto Bronzetti, an Italian agent with close links to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, had claimed that a deal worth in excess of £35 million was "practically done", with a five-year contract ready to be penned.

Bronzetti told SportYou: "I was called by an Italian television station [Sport Mediaset] and they asked me. I told them the only thing I knew was what I had seen on a website, that it was almost done."

Neymar move to Real Madrid 'almost done', says agent - Goal.com
Doesn't sound very convincing.

Makelele (20M)
Samuel (18M)
Cambiasso (0M)
Robben (24M)
Sneijder (15M)

Higuain will be their next mistake

He's an absolute dickhead on the pitch in fairness. The only time I've seen him play full games was the under 20 SAM championships and the minute they had a hard time against Argentina he started diving and moaning. That's why I prefer Lucas, he picked up his game against Argentina and I thought it was his best of the tournament. That difference in attitude could be the difference between becoming the best in the world and becoming another waste of superb talent. Still a very talented player though.
