Neymar Da Silva

Even with Villa injured he'd be a strange signing considering the number of attacking options they have and the likely cost to sign him. Barca should instead be signing another defender.

Scored a nice goal in the Copa Libertadores:

Good for him he's staying at Santos and developing his game rather than making a mistake and leaving Brazil too early. He and Lucas Moura in the future will be amazing players.

Bollocks. Being a star in Brazil means tons.

How many world cups has Brazil won?, How many times have they made the final 4? When you look at how often those things happen and then look at how many players over the decades were based at home the whole belittling of the local Brazilian football becomes embarrassing to watch.

Being a star in Brasil doesn't mean anything . I'm pretty sure Santos wouldnt survive the first round CL.

you can't tell he's not fully mature. running style seems a bit awkward, for instance. he'll for sure be a handful when he's in his pomp, given what he is doing now...

Isn't he a pretty much dead cert to go to Barcelona at some point, either this year or the next. According to Sid Lowe anyways.

Based on top Brazilian sides performance in the world club cup i'm pretty sure they would excel in the CL which after all is all about possesion football which is something the brazilian/south american sides specialise in.

"Nice" in the same way that Bill Gates could be described as "financially comfortable." Thats an incredible goal

Jesus.

I felt movement in my pants.

(and ironically I was going to take the piss out of Red Indian's post above for being nearly homo)

Well the Telegraph Sport twitter page has posted this:

Spanish radio reporting that Barcelona have secured a deal for Neymar join in 2014 having paid Santos 14.5m euros of the total 58m fee.

Interesting... well if it's true!

Don't buy the hype, particularly when it involves the sale of a player from Brasil nevermind a player that is being sold 2 years in advance

Giggs' finish was a belter though, not that I would mind scoring either of those!

A blast like Giggsy likely wouldn't have worked in Neymar's case; with the goalkeeper closing him down, Neymar needed that deft light touch to chip it over the keeper. Both quality finishes though, a belter vs a deft clever low chip. Orgasmic stuff all the same.

His third goal wasn't bad either.

Those second and third goals have been sped up to make it look like he's moving quicker. No one runs so fast that their legs turn into a blur.

We all got over Ronaldos little streaks of blond in his hair when he arrived at Old Trafford. When players have that much talent they can wear real skunks on their heads if they want.

Amazing player no doubt about that. Great technique, lightning fast and a great shot on him as well.

Somehow I can't get over the fact that he seams to be wearing a dead skunk on his head.

Am I alone in thinking although he's a gifted player, the Brazilian league makes him look much much better than he really is and that he'd struggle in Europe.

No, you arent alone but its a common misconception that the Brazilian leagues are weak.
He has the speed and technical ability and awareness to make it in any league.

If the Brazilian leagues are as weak as so many make out Brazil wouldnt have been such a dominant force in football for the last 75 years or more.

Am I alone in thinking although he's a gifted player, the Brazilian league makes him look much much better than he really is and that he'd struggle in Europe.

Well the "can't get over it" part wasn't really meant in a way that I wouldn't want him to play for us because of the hair.

I mean original Ronaldo has had his share of bad haircuts as well and I still think he was one of the best strikers of all time.

You are also right concerning the Brazilian league. It's highly underestimated. They have been producing so much talents that did so well all over the world in every league for the past decades that it's a bit of a bold claim to say that the league most of these players once played in just makes them "look good".

Same here.

So what about at international level for brazil?
