Seems that way, especially when everyone who says that has a misunderstanding of what his role is
I have got to the stage that I will be happier with ETH as it would mean we are trying to move into the future as a club, but if it is Poch I will still support the team. However If we carry on buying the wrong players slapdash as we have up to now, nothing will change. The transfer policy is the biggest issue to me. Pogba is going. Oh we have to get another player who will generate lots of social media clicks. Do they not realise that the ones who generate a lot of social media clicks are quite often a bit of a problem. I would rather someone who just does his work on the pitch and goes home.

It’s scary when people Like Darren Fletcher are one of the key people interviewing for the most critical position ….

Problem with our club is that they are living in the past and hoping for another Jesus like second coming of SAF.

Former players talk well but are completely deluded….When i heard Rooney talking about who we should rebuild around…. Players like Markus, Young Lingard, World class Macquire and amazing Mctom… you know we are in deep trouble…

At no other successful club do previous managers or players have this much influence….And rightly so as football evolves and we need fresh ideas…

How can it take so long to make a managerial decision…. Look at Chelsea and RM, you don’t hear this nonsense about interviews if you know what you want…..and they are likely to be more successful judging by last 10 years…

I am 100% convinced that we will get it wrong again….

So you know what Fletcher is like? How good he is at his job? Just because you dont like him, doesn't mean he doesn't know what he is doing.

No, stop making things up, Rooney said "I think [Jadon] Sancho will be better next year, Marcus [Rashford] will be better next year" Then about Scoot " Scott McTominay’s done well" he did not say he is amazing, he has done well.

On Maguire " “He hasn’t been on his best form like a lot of players but for England he looks like a world-class centre-back " So stop doing what journalist do and twist his words. Rooney coming on Monday Night Football asked about his opinion does not mean he has any influence on who the next manager is going to be, they were asking his own opinion.

Only United fans think people are not allowed an opinion if its different to theirs, pathetic really.

So if we hire Ten Hag, we will be wrong to? because you are 100% sure we will get it wrong?

Exactly, it's farcical. So it's down to Fletcher and Murtough. Fletcher will clearly be in touch with Neville, Butt, Rooney and anyone else who's advocated for Poch - to think we'll go for ETH is deluded.

We know what's coming. We've been taken for a ride.

Hook, line and sinker.

Can't wait to appoint someone that was sacked by both Espanyol and Spurs. The only reason he hasn't been given the bullet at PSG is because they can avoid given him a pay-out if we come in and swoop him up.

Yeah, and you know what, I've accepted it.

Honestly, if the club is going to continue to be run as it has been, does the new manager make a difference?

First of all, interviewing Pochettino would require explicit permission from PSG and there has been zero reports that they agreed to it. Mirror is making up shit and you lot need a reason to lose your marbles.

Yes, the fine folks at the Mirror are clearly knowledgeable about the inner workings of the Man Utd interview procsses. Both of the top two candidates for the job impress in interviews - it's the sort of exclusive access and in depth reporting that makes it feel like they were in the room. Next they'll report that Pochettino and Leonardo had lunch and talked about his future - and reveal that Leonardo wants Zidane to succeed him. How do they do it?

Assuming he's hired is it unreasonable to start asking serious questions on Pochettino if we're not seeing anything tangible results wise or in regards to style of play within one year?
The whole reason why he's getting so much support in the first place is because of "PL Experience" so he should be judged with the expectation that he gets faster results and implements his style of play quicker than you'd expect from a foreign manager managing in the PL for the first time and if it's not happening fingers need to be pointed at him

Brendan Rodgers coming into to save the facking day!!

No other manager will get a tune out of Declan Rice and Harry Kane as well as Brendan. It's a damn shame it's taken so long for the board to move on from these fancy foreigners and just put in a good relatively local lad with a bit of fire in his belly.

Brendan will completely change this team around. Instant impact. His speeches will immediately inspire our languid team to perform at their highest level. His tactical nous is second to no man and will allow the entire team to capitalize on their strengths. His world-renowned man management will see previously poor performers, like Harry Maguire and every other person on the entire team (except possibly Ronaldo/Fred/DDG/Sancho), start playing like their lives depended on it.

I pray that our board will see sense and appoint the Northern Irish SAF before he's snapped up by a rival, but let's see.

No. You can bet Poch will also be sacked whenever he goes against the players or board. The board will continue to buy players that will make no sense, continue giving fat contracts to undeserving players. The only reason we make weird transfer is probably to keep some board members happy, no other explanation.

It’s happening mate. You can blank out all the ex players propaganda all you want. They probably gave him the job in November knowing our club.

Which board member? SAF?:smirk:

By and large the club hierarchy make so many mistakes in terms of the timing of hiring and firing that I am convinced they will make the wrong decision and hire Poch, which unfortunately makes these stories easier to believe. If they had a track record of making good decisions then it would have been less worrisome.

I agree and, you know, maybe Poch will do better dealing with our chaotic style of club management than Ten Hag.

At Ajax everything is geared towards an idea, a way of playing. Signings, youth products, they only get considered by Ajax if they show they can play Ajax style football. There's no random signings and then figuring out how they could fit into the team later. Our Board would be expecting Ten Hag to play total football with Scott McTominay in the Frenkie de Jong role, then blaming him when it doesn't happen.

All things considered we may as well go with Poch. He's less of a systems coach than Ten Hag so he might even be able to make something out of the crap our Board throws at him.

PS) Whoever it is we won't be winning the league any time soon. We should all just accept that Liverpool will be winning a 20th and 21st title pretty soon. :(

You'll get 1/4 on ETH getting the job, while Poch is 7/2 right now - so if you really reckon Poch has gotten the job @Mainoldo then you can win a few quid here.

Personally I think the smart money is on Brendan Rodgers @ 20/1 but I'm not sure our board is visionary enough

My exact thoughts. This was always Poch's job, the club have been working behind the scenes - journalists and ex-players to discredit ETH and big up Poch. This very public interviewing 'process' of due diligence is complete nonsense. I have no doubt they interviewed Ten Hag but he was never getting the job.

They've been turning the screw on Poch for the past 2 weeks, he will be out next manager and I will be £250 richer.

How can anyone trust Murtough/Fletcher or Arnold to get this right? Like seriously. Murtough, no experience as DOF. Fletcher, no experience as a technical director. Arnold, no experience as a CEO. If the Glazers were serious about this club they would have hired the best out there. You're all being taken for a ride. I have ZERO faith they will get this right. They could hire Pep or Klopp and still feck it up. You might think that's sensationalist but look at what's happened the last ten years. And please don't tell me that the structures are now in place. To some degree they are, but all positions filled with novices and are all under qualified for the job that's at stake.

So you want to preemptively outrage yourself, just because.

Did you do this on purpose?

over 1k voted for Ten Hag and over 1k people never watched more than 2 games of Ajax!

Hipsters be crazy.

Does anyone know what the current rules are for corporal punishment in the UK ? Could it be written into the contract of the next manager that they are allowed to be flogged publicly if they don't get top four ?

If any of the currently touted managers would refuse this stipulation then I suggest that we pass on them - if they aren't confident enough in their own managerial expertise to risk a flogging then we don't want them at Manchester United. Head down to the Blaise on a Saturday morning and you'll find hundreds of passionate local lads with fire in their bellies, all of whom would be willing to risk a flogging for this club - so why are we looking at any fancy foreigners with no affinity for the club?!

Joke of a club these days, the answer is obvious and he is managing Leicester City.

I agree most haven't seen enough of Ajax to know Ten Hag well enough. But i think it's more people have seen more than enough of Poch to have an opinion on how he would do here.

:lol: the mirror has sent this place into meltdown now. We could have Ornstein come out and say that Ten Hag is done and we'd still have people in here fretting that the Metro have said that Poch watched our last game
