over 1k voted for Ten Hag and over 1k people never watched more than 2 games of Ajax!

Hipsters be crazy.
Oh another 'Hipster Manager' type comment, where have we heard this before, lets see lets see... Nagelsmann, Klopp, Tuchel at the very least, wonder how that worked out for us

For every Klopp, there's a AVB. There are no guarantees

I can understand the votes, it's that anyone is so sure they are right about a manager they barely know anything about.

Those managers had won major trophies baring Nagelsmann who does seem to be a great young manager but I remember a year ago there was 2-3 young German managers in the hipster category and the others haven't done well, in fact reports saying Rose is about to be fired at Dortmund.

People who want to gamble on Ten Hag aren't doing it because they think it's a guarantee.

I'd much, much rather take the chance that he might either take us back to competing at the top or be a complete bust than have Poch safely steer us to 4th every year for a few years.

How can you say that when Spurs spent nothing to get 2nd, how can you say that with a big budget he wouldn't finish 1st? Why has this taken over as an accepted truth?

Klopp had won the League and League Cup competitions
Tuchel won the Pokal once and that's it, didn't even win the league before going to PSG
ETH has won the League and League Cup competitions

What else is he supposed to do he can only win what's put infront of him, it's just a lazy term for someone who has modern day football coaching philosophy which the fans here seem absolutely terrified by for some reason and always want to refer to types like Pochettino, Prem proven and such. Its lazy.

Because that was like 4/5 years ago. Has he really progressed as a manager since then? It's like Mourinho going elsewhere then we get him and he wasn't the same manager. There is no guarantee he will get us competing and I don't see any evidence he's really progressed either, he's just as much of a gamble as ETH is.

I very much prefer ETH, but the way people decided that he's the messiah while Poch's ceiling is top 4 is bewildering. Both could work out beautifully or terribly

He got 86 points with Spurs, finishing second, scoring 86 goals. Funny thing is, he only ever finished 4th once in his whole Spurs career. He finished 2nd and 3rd twice. With a significantly smaller budget than United, City and others. They were level with Liverpool and then Liverpool bought Van Dijk and Alisson, Spurs bought nobody and the rest is history.

Its the system nonsense since Pep plays 'Tiki-Taka' and Klopp has 'Geggenpress' we need a manager who has to have a system. Start calling Hag's style Haagen-dazs or something and caf posters would be ready to sell their mother to slavery for ETH.

Telegraph article behind a paywall. Let me guess - both journo's conclude in favour of Poch?

You'll get 1/4 on ETH getting the job, while Poch is 7/2 right now - so if you really reckon Poch has gotten the job @Mainoldo then you can win a few quid here.

Personally I think the smart money is on Brendan Rodgers @ 20/1 but I'm not sure our board is visionary enough

 Might put 50£ on it. It will settle the disappointment a bit.

Why did Ajax lose against Benfica?

Was Ten Hag doing well in that game? Just worried because the way people talk about him it does sound that maybe he could overdo Benfica who are the 3rd best in their league.
I don’t think anyone watched them vs benfica since everyone in here watched united game. But just like other games when they failed to win, they probably dominated the game but couldn’t finish their chances. Considering their level of players, no one should be expecting them to even reach quarter final. Finished the group stage as the 2nd highest of goal scoring team among 32 teams just below Bayern, that’s already overachieved.

What are the odds on Krusty the clown? :) Its gonna take more than just a new manager to fix the mess United are in right now. Club needs to be fixed from top to bottom

I think there's been a few posts pointing out how bad Spurs transfers were after Mitchell left and it was pointed toward Poch for blame. But if I'm not mistaken, wasn't someone else hired for Mitchell's place?

I don't understand the tweet.

They're weighing up where to employ him? So either as a manager or a tea lady?
More like, as a coach or a manager, a coach fits in more with our now new setup with Murtough and Fletcher, a manager kind of leaves Murtough and Fletcher in the lurch a little bit because a manager will want a lot of their responsibilities

You only have to look at his record against top 6 to see it’s a possibility that’s not too much if a stretch

Thanks!

Sounds good and got me positive.

Ole and Jose managed second place finishes here as well. The only time Poch was in any real danger of actually winning the league was the two horse race against Leicester in which he managed to finish third. He then went on to accomplish the highly impressive achievement of not winning the fecking French league with PSG. Winning it at the second attempt is like taking two tries to successfully find your arse with both hands.

Ten Hag on the other hand, took over an Ajax side that hadn't won the league for four years, won it in his first full season and won it every year since.

There was Steve Hitchen, he resigned a couple of months ago. Not sure if had exactly the same remit as Mitchell though.

How much did Ole and Jose spend in their summers to get to that level, compared to Poch relative to City, Chelsea and Liverpool?

Poch didnt want to inflate his ego, so he pulled out.
