Maguire was not abused, he was booed. Poor little Harry, I guess he might have to go to Greece again.

And by the way, us announcing Ten Hag is not a problem, or rather it's a problem created for gullible people who really, really want to take incompetence for consideration.

I think if he played like that with the likes of Messi Mbabbe and Neymar he'd be sacked on the spot. I watched that tie and thought PSG did well but they still got knocked out. He had a big chance there to prove himself but bottled it. I think if he comes here it will just be constant top 4 races and nothing more.
Poch is like physical therapy. ETH is like major surgery. We need major surgery to get back in the winning elite. Yeah we might "die" from the surgery, but it's the only way to compete in the near future. No risk no reward.

I'd take the gamble on ETH. It might work out it might not but it would be a step in the right direction.

If Gary Neville’s jumping on the ten Hag band wagon then it must be true. Few weeks ago he was saying he preferred poch but now that we’re suppose to be close to ten Hag he’s out there praising him. Got to be ten Hag now… can’t see it not being after so many leaks are out. Imagine the outbreak if we don’t get ten Hag now. Excited for next season already!! #GGMU

So PSV in Title race with Ajax and announce new manager for next season so no excuses for us to intefere with Ajax season by announcing ETH as our new manager next season. Just get the deal done ffs.
Do you want us to jeopardize future dealings with ajax ?

Where’s this?

If people close to ten Hag and Ajax are suggesting the above, then the deal is likely well advanced and I'd say planning for the summer window has already been discussed.

PSV manager had already announced that their manager was leaving so this an appointment announcement. Ten Hag hasnt mentioned he is leaving and our relationship with Ajax is good so we wouldn’t want to disturb their title bid by announcing their manager is our next manager. May isnt that far anyway
I wasn't aware of this now that PSV had already announced that their manager was leaving at end of the season. I had seen some people saying we shouldn't announce anything as Ajax in a close title race with PSV.

ETH being McClaren’s No.2 at FC Twente when they won the Eredivisie makes me want ETH even more. The man clearly has a pedigree about him. I wonder if they contacted Schteve for a reference.

Think he left Twente before McLaren's title winning season.

Read this, thought it was a weird jump.. went on Twitter and saw this:

I despair that a seemingly large portion of our fanbase listen to what this guy says. He’s spent most of the day making light of the Maguire booing too, which is unsurprising seeing as he’s one of the big reasons behind his constant online abuse.

Anyway, back on topic. What are you talking about? Why is there a need to announce anything now? To ease a fraction of the fanbases impatience?

Hes an utter bellend its true.

“how to handle a possible announcement”

Surely it’s a done deal if discussions between Utd, Ajax & Ten Hag’s representatives have taken place regarding the above.

No need to rush to announce it if it is indeed done with ETH. It’s not that important at this current moment. The smoke is there for everyone to see. Give it another month at the earliest.

Didnt the reports say they just wanted it sorted by the end of this month, rather than sort it and announce it?

He's the Tucker Carlson of football pundits.

We are not in title race like PSV though.

Goldbridge is a fecking idiot. Nuff said

Moyes is not and never was good enough for Man Utd. Everything else you've written seems like guff in defence of an out of depth manager in order to prove your point.

Fergie was a good judge of player when he was a manager but I'm not sure that should extend to rating other managers in the present day.

I'd trust him over anyone on here. And that's my point, everyone seems to judge others based on whether they share the same views as them, as if they have all the answers. I bet Fergie and some ex players would school is in knowledge of football, even current stuff.

You have to love the Redcafe top red army in the last page spilling abuse because... Maguire was booed.

It's delicious irony but it's probably too uncomfortable for you people to admit.

Just because they once played football doesn't mean they know about coaching than a few dedicated football fans who happen to also be man utd fans, it's those dedicated fans who have mostly swayed majority of the casual fans, the evidence of football the two managers play probably also help convinced people .

The best coaches are often obsessed football fans who don't necessarily have to play football at a high level to understand the game more than a majority of ex players and more often than not those obsessed football fans don't all work in football.

You make it sound like any old avid watcher of football can just apply to be a coach. To be involved as a coach at the top level you go through years of hard work and proving yourself. You also need to be very good at what you do. Many of these ex players have coached also, for whatever that's even worth.

Even people that do know their stuff can be wrong about things also. A few posters who think they know their stuff, swaying the majority, isn't a good thing.

Poch didn't bottle it. He wasn't on the pitch, he didn't make a rash decision that cost them the tie. Their defence bottled it. I watched the game and that was absolutely clear. PSG were the better side for about 160 minutes of the tie, but that's the beauty of football.

Wonder how Ralf feels about all of this? I suspect he is looking forward to leaving his role given the lack of receptivity he has been getting from the players on the pitch.

ten Hag is a brave man

Im looking forward to rangnick speaking openly about the players once he's no longer the manager.

He is not going to say anything when he takes on the consultancy role either so long as we are paying his wage.

Was the £5m compensation fee with Ajax not already agreed as of a week ago? Or did I just make that up?
