NBA 2018-2019

Watching NBA live at Staples Center is quite fun.

LeBron is actually gonna miss the playoffs isn't he? Interesting.
Still got a quarter of the season left, but it's kinda looking that way. Who would have thought that it might not make for the best team dynamics when your veteran star player has tried and failed to get half the team traded?

But ridiculously expensive. :(

I paid $70 for VIP tickets tonight, very good location. Will probably pay five times that on Friday if I go to Lakers v Bucks but Clippers are really fair value. Some of the tickets in higher sections were $40 and less which isn’t terrible for the experience.

Nice, didn't realize you were referring to Clippers games. Years ago, I've had mini 4 or 5-game Clippers plans but they were always in the cheapest seats. Which meant they were in the nosebleeds. $70 for a decent seat sounds like you've got a good deal.

Hardly his fault the team is puss though. But something has to change there.
This is why it's so hard to play with James. Tonight Ingram scored 32 points on 12-18 shooting and Kuzma had 22 on 9-15, yet a piss poor 8-23 from LBJ somehow gets absolved from blame because he's "LeBron James." The Grizzlies are poor and you could actually make the argument that they are trying to lose. For the Lakers this was a team effort in suck.

Yeah Clippers v Mavs. I just had the worst turkey sandwich ever though and it cost $14.

You really love playing down all the great players who haven’t played for Warriors, don’t you?

We are actually really shitty at tanking.

A lot has to change....nothing is currently positive!!!

LeBron is talking too much shit after games.....that must lead to a even more toxic atmosphere.

A Manchester United Treble season is currently more realistic than the Lakers will make the playoffs.

I thought Clippers would fall away after Harris trade but they seem to be pretty much as good as they were. Kings are a young hungry team with a terrible schedule though. Spurs have been totally out of form but have Pop. 2 out of those 4 will have to make it.

lebron literally had a triple double tonight, meanwhile steph went 5-18, a worse percentage than lebron. too bad lebron doesnt have 4 other all stars on his team to shoot 58% and bail him out like steph does.

Also his bench got 7 points. SEVEN.

I don't know how to post tweets but I saw one of the Lakers timeout with 16 seconds left that was ... awkward to say the least.

Steph was awful tonight. However, that is irrelevant when discussing the Lakers. LeBron is a great player but there are times where he has to take some blame - triple double or no triple double. Tonight was one of those nights.

I really like watching Giannis and this season I can also say Paul George as well. As for the Dubs, I'm not over keen on KD. Love him as a player but his attitude definitely needs work. Used to like Draymond but his shenanigans are getting old as well. Love Steph and Klay and also Iggy and Sean Livingston.

It was pretty cool by Doc Rivers to take a timeout for everyone to applaud Dirk.

no bueno  The way Magic/Pelinka build their team, it's just so wrong.

Bullock was a good idea but perhaps too high a price with a decent young player and a second round pick sent back the other way, with just a few months left on his deal. Still, a correct move.

They should be looking to fill up their squad with that type of player, shooters who can stretch the floor. He doesn't provide much defence though.

Their biggest mistake was publicly shopping all young players for AD which killed any chemistry they might have had. Zubac for Muscala trade was dreadful but it kind of does not matter as neither are of the quality you would want at a team challenging for something.

35% from the field is poor, especially for him. But you're completely disregarding the rest of his game.

I imagine that Kuzma and BI were beneficiaries of LBJ's passing, evidenced by his 11 assists.

Look at what he's working with. His bench gave him nothing at all.

it's not irrelevant because you always have a double standard with players you dont like. you never frame it as "lebron had an off shooting night", its always "harden is so selfish" or "lebron is hard to play with".

I'm not disregarding the rest of his game. His defense was poor and he also had 5 turnovers. However neither one of those was why I made the original comment. LeBron is a great player but the media (for the most part) seem to give him a pass on a number of things to the point where if his team wins it's "LeBron is the best, he carried the team, couldn't have done it without him etc...." On the other hand when they lose it's "LeBron needs more help, he was great, but the team sucks, it's everybody else's fault etc..." This latter view is essentially what you posted after the game against Memphis.

Hardly his fault the team is puss though. But something has to change there.

That just wasn't true last night. Both Kuzma and especially Ingram played very well. LeBron on the other hand although having a triple double put up a number of ridiculous shots, and as I mentioned earlier his defense was atrocious and he had 5 turnovers. I don't think James was the reason they lost to Memphis by any means but he's surely got to take some of the blame.

I do believe Harden is selfish, sometimes to the detriment of the team, sometimes not. That's my opinion - I'm stuck with it. However the situation with LeBron is different. I don't think I've ever said he was hard to play with (if I did I misspoke), in fact most of his team mates (who have not already been traded) have said what a good team mate he is. My beef is not with LeBron it's with the media. It's ironic that you accuse me of a double standard because that is the problem I have with that same media. He's a great player - I just wish the pundits would leave it at that. He's not infallible, sometimes he really is to blame.

EDIT: I found where I said "LeBron is hard to play with." Didn't mean it literally, I meant because of the outside noise from the media pointing out how he is great and they are crap - that can have an unsettling effect on other players.

It's like everybody has to have a perfect game to not be very "hard" to play with, oh and remember the Warriors share the ball like no one else.

I honestly don't know where you come up with this. Lebron is criticized far more than any of his contemporaries, far more than Kobe or Garnett or Wade or Curry or whoever. The only player who comes close is Westbrook, which has more merit in my opinion.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on this. Nick Wright, Shannon Sharpe, Colin Cowherd, Max Kellerman etc... There are times when their "man love" is just embarrassing. When they talk about the NBA its LeBron this and LeBron that, and with the odd exception when they bring somebody on just to have an opposing viewpoint it's overwhelmingly positive towards him sometimes, like I said, to the point of embarrassment.

LeBron's just being exposed now that he's no longer playing in a weak conference where he gets to coast on the defensive end during the regular season.

How was it watching Doncic live?

He was very impressive in the first quarter, I didn't think he was that good in the second half of the game though. Harrell absolutely stole the show last night, he was immense and caused us to raise from our seats several times.

Dithering about Lakers v Pelicans tomorrow but probably going to skip that one. I think I'll go to the game on Friday though, even in the cheapest sits. An opportunity to see Lakers with LeBron take on Milwaukee and Giannis will not come again. I bought a Milwaukee t-shirt two days ago which I fully intend to wear to that game seeing as there is literally zero trouble for people wearing opposite teams jerseys at games here.

I think the only thing you could wear that would get you in trouble would be a MAGA hat or a Bird jersey.

Nonsense.
I've seen the last 19 Lakers games.....the only highlight was the win in Boston and the other few wins were a really hard fight.

The defence is awful, the rotation isn't good enough and no one of us knows the atmosphere in the locker room but it's surely not amazing.
If you really wanna make the playoffs then you can't lose against the Pelicans without Davis and against the Grizzlies.

I have 0% playoffs hope because there was no improvement to see in the last weeks before the All-Star game and now after the All-Star game they are playing even worse.

Where'd you sit and how much were the tickets?
