NBA 2018-2019

Steph dunked again. Twice in a row now. Stranger things have never happened.

Oh and Steph was redonculous again.
Last night was the 44th time in NBA history that a player has made 10 threes in a game. Kobe Bryant has done it once, has as Ray Allen. More recently, Kyrie Irving, James Harden, Dame Lillard and Paul George have also done it once apiece. Hell! J.R. Smith has even done it twice and believe it or not Klay has done it five times.

For those who are counting that was the 14th time Stephen Curry has made 10 threes in a game.

And i don't think a single one was an open spot up 3.

I think Bucks will definitely make the finals this season. They have the best player in the conference and lack the fit/chemistry issues Celtics and 76ers currently have.

I think so too. They were a problem for Celtics, who performed very well in 2018 playoffs, despite having no coach, a much inferior team without any big that can shoot (they have four of them now) and Bledsoe not playing well (it doesn't mean he will be great this year but some improvement can be expected). I wonder if playoffs Middleton will show up this year, if yes then they will make it for sure.

Giannis being by far and away the best player in conference is a very important factor too.

Curry is simply a phenomenon.

What an awesome game that was, Russ finally started to shoot the ball well hopefully he can keep it up for the end of the regular season and into the playoffs.

PG is playing out of his mind, and even though I'm a little biased being an OKC fan he is definitely my MVP pick as of now.

With that said I wouldn't mind if Giannis won because he is also playing incredible, and his potential is ridiculous.

Really as long as Harden doesn't win it then I'm not too bothered. His style of play annoys me, and I love it when refs don't give him the calls he usually gets that other players couldn't dream of getting.

Seeing him cry about refs is hilarious, and long may it continue.

Paul George.

That is all.
Paul fecking Georges. He's my MVP.

.
Amen. I don't like the Lakers but seeing Harden lose it brought me joy.

If Westbrook shoots similar to this in the playoffs and George maintains current form they could be a threat even to Warriors. They have usually played Warriors hard every time I watched them.

I think Portland will get homecourt advantage and could be a dark horse for conference finals if they get third seed (fourth would probably mean playing Warriors in semis in which case I would rather finish 6th or 7th and play Nuggets or Thunder without homecourt but avoid Warriors semis).

Be careful what you wish for! Russ has been great this season doing exactly what he needs to keep doing - getting Paul George the ball and facilitating the team's scoring. When he gets it into his head that he can shoot it generally all goes to hell. Last night was mostly an aberration. He is career 43% from the field and a diabolical three point shooter. He does not need any encouragement to put up shots. Let him keep doing what he has been doing this season and OKC will be a threat.

Great to see IT back and moving around freely, and even better that's it's with the Nuggets. 16 points in 16 minutes was nice.

Hopefully he can continue to play 16-20 minutes off the bench with the second unit. He can play off the ball with Morris running things, so he can ease his way back.

First, it feels amazing to be in the US and have all games available at normal hours. I am watching three games right now and it’s not even dark yet.

Second, great result for Portland and so far great night for Kings (because they are winning and because Lakers are losing).

Warriors really need to somehow avoid Rockets in the playoffs
I'd love it if they meet again. Never mind Paul getting injured, that ridiculous 3pts sequence is what killed them in game 7 last season (along some dodgy refereeing). They should have beaten them.
@charlton66 : Has Cousins been much of a help since he's come back ? I can't say I have followed him much.

I envy you. Its been a great season but I'm always tired at work from having to wake up early to watch the games.

I agree. Isn't that crazy after we were ll laughing at him for snitching and then getting traded and all the hype surrounding Lonzo? Nets are 1 or 2 good players away from being a serious problem in the East.
He was under too much pressure in LA, once he was rid of it he showed his real talent is what happened I think.

how many years in a row have the Lakers had a top 5 pick now btw?

Warriors will struggle to win it this year. They are losing all games against top teams.

The Warriors don't care about the regular season. They'll be fine.

Defensively, he's just not been good. Last night was only one game but was a microcosm of his recent play. Teams are just pick and rolling him to death. He finished the game with a +/- of -17, by far the worst of any player on either team (next worse was Klay at -7). It also didn't help him defensively when Draymond had to leave. With Green on the floor the Dubs are 3rd in the league defensively per 100 possessions, without him they fall to 15th.

Got to give the Rockets credit, they certainly turn it on when they play the Warriors. Not sure the Dubs care either way to be honest. I suppose we'll see.

Who's the better player right now, Lonzo Ball or D'Angelo Russell?
Well Lonzo's injured and Russell's an all star.

The thing with Russell is, at the Lakers he was being slated for his on-court play. The 'snitching' etc was magnified because of his on-court play.

Now he's in his 4th year (I think), his always obvious talent is flourishing and he's maturing. It's what you'd expect.

That's why I feel we (Lakers) shouldn't trade our young core as they're all talented enough to flourish on their cheaper contracts.

Fair points. Ingram has looked better this year. What lindo cap space will they have this off-season?

Theyve enough for a max free agent I think. Although Sarni has a much better understanding than me.

We lost the last qualifying game for the World cup (Lebanon). This is so demoralizing.

Assuming they don’t make a trade for Davis (or any other max level star, e.g. Beal) before July 1 they will have enough cap space to sign one additional max player.

There aren’t many realistic options for them though. Durant is not going there I believe (NY), their chances of landing Klay (will stay) and Kawhi (stays or joins Clippers) are almost non-existent as well. Kyrie? Maybe but I think New York and Boston are also much more realistic for them.

Also, they can put pretty much best defensive shift against them imo, especially if Andre Roberson will be fully fit for play-off. Well, as much as you can defend against Warriors really.

 Sent Ingles on a private dance lesson. Immense season by him, pretty much in unstopabble form.

Thought that were poor comments by Lebron about his teammates. First the trade fiasco, now this and for all the talk and great offensive work he isn't really setting an example on the defensive side.

Another good win for the Nets. Spurs were awful most of the game and are now 1-7 in their last 8. If they don't get it together soon I can see it being them who miss the playoffs.

EDIT: Maybe the Spurs will be OK. The Kings had numerous chances in the 4th quarter and couldn't pull off a comeback and "activated" LeBron couldn't hit a barn door for the Lakers. At this rate the Spurs could easily get in by default.

LeBron is actually gonna miss the playoffs isn't he? Interesting.

Hardly his fault the team is puss though. But something has to change there.
