NBA 2018-2019

The rising stars game did not look too much different from a standard regular season game. No defense, non stop chucking 3's.

An exaggeration admittedly but I can't wait for the playoffs so we can see some real basketball.

I watched the sixers Celtics game the other night and it was intense and good. Likely a function of the teams involved and them potentially meeting in the playoffs. That was real basketball for a change.

Harden is having an historical offensive season - no one has ever scored (or produced offense in general) at this volume with this level of efficiency and maintained team success as Harden has. With CP3 missing 20 games, Capela 15, and Gordon 10, Houston is still the #2 offense in basketball and it's purely due to the offensive brilliance of Harden who has been a one-man show. He has a 31 game streak of 30+ pts, and in that period only Milwaukee has more wins than Houston - so his historic stats are leading directly to wins, which has dug Houston out of an early season hole where they were in the 14th spot with a 13-15 record, to now competing for homecourt in the first round. Gets bumped from the top spot because of so many close/bad losses for Houston this season.

The Warriors have more wins too (22-6 vs 21-10 since 12/13) but I've got to admit 21-10 is still pretty good. The downside is that they were 10-1 in their first 11 and are only 11-9 in their last 20 so it does look like teams for the most part are starting to figure it out.

Pleased Hami won. Very much deserved. DSJ missed so many attempts.

3 Point Contest was fun. Also the best Skills Challenge in a while. JT

Dunk Contest was garbage and those whack judges made it worse.
J Cole's missed dunk should have won.

Good that Joe Harris won the three point contest. I wanted him or Buddy Hield to win it, both very hard working and dedicated players who specialize at exactly this.

As for Diallo, really liking the OKC scrubs. Obviously dunk contest has little to do with players quality during games but between him, Ferguson and the new guy Burton they have some incredibly athletic players to compliment the big three.

Best things in the game were Curry's ridiculous assist to Giannis, and Curry's great dunk at the end of the game.

For some reason, despite Giannis team leading for most of the match, I had a feeling that James' tin will win. The way how they win it was a bit weird, initially Lillard deciding to make three pointers from Jupiter, and then KD deciding to take matters on his own hand.

All things considered, way worse than last year's match which I had a feeling had some defense on it. This one had nothing of that.

Now you know how the rest of the league feels facing the warriors.

Hope it’s nothing serious. He’s going number one anyway but having him miss March Madness would be a huge disappointment.

I think Bucks will definitely make the finals this season. They have the best player in the conference and lack the fit/chemistry issues Celtics and 76ers currently have.

My money's still on the Celtics. We still need to see it from the bucks, and 76ers in the playoffs. And don't forget about Toronto, Kawhi is a beast and adding Marc Gasol is a big deal for them on both ends.

Draymond Green and his damn technicals. He made a good defensive play but if a foul is called just shut the feck up. He almost cost the Dubs another game with his temper tantrums.

Buddy almost won that game for the Kings.

What a debut for Kanter. 18 points, 9 rebounds, 8-8 2P FG.
