NBA 2018-2019

Another triple double from LeBron. Wow, he's averaging a triple double since returning from injury. The Lakers are 2-3 (and are lucky not to be 1-4) but what the heck - triple doubles all round.

Come on LeBron....sack Walton!!!!
Luke Walton is certainly not helping himself but LeBron was 8-20 from the field and 3-10 from three. James is still one of the most difficult players in the league to stop going to the basket so what the hell is he doing shooting 10 threes, especially on a night when he's actually making his free throws.

Of course Walton isn't the main problem.....i had such high hopes for him and have defended him a long long time but i'm now sick of his coaching (There is no plan on the court and his rotation is a joke since weeks).

Scrub. OKC are 9-1 in their last 10 games (which Westbrook has triple-doubled in by the way ;))

Isn't Lebron hailed to have a high basketball IQ, that's just dumb unless it was on purpose.

Wow, that was bad by the Lakers. Don't think we'll be getting a playoff spot now.

I've always liked Walton but he doesn't look far from the edge now. They have to do something big this summer or LeBron's career is just going to fizzle out.

That's was one of the worst games I've ever seen. Neither side wanted to win the game in the end, but Lakers wanted to win it even less it felt.

LeBron decided he preferred the glamour of LA (and his post career) over actually winning more titles when he signed for them. if he actually really seriously wanted to keep winning, he would have joined the Sixers. he brought this upon himself.

funny thing is if he had of joined the Sixers, he could have ended up playing with AD after all, Sixers could have offered Simmons to the Pels. LeBron, AD, Embiid big 3? yes please.

but i guess LA has nice weather and all.

And Philly is a shithole.

I think he joined because of what this team could be. Not all about the weather.

And I think LA will be closer to a title than Sixers next year.

Davis  Does the league really think he should be playing?

PG13 is playing out his mind but I think it is a close race for MVP because Harden has been unbelievable this year. You could really make a fair case for all three contenders for MVP.

It's not a close race though. Harden is running away with it.

i seriously doubt that. LeBron isn't winning anything in the West, even if they do add AD. espeically so if Durant stays with the Warriors.

No chance. Even if they get Davis it's still not good enough when you put scrubs around LeBron and him.

Phila have a very good team.

Im not saying they'll win it, just that I think they'll be closer than the Sixers.

There is a way Lakers can get AD and anoyhet star though, isn't there?

But I don't mean to take this down the trade/free agency route.

Sixers could make the finals this year. and if they re-sign Butler and Harris, i'd have them pretty close to favourites in the East next year, assuming continued progression for both Embiid and Simmons. Lakers won't make the finals even if they do sign AD.

You're not wrong, they absolutely could. I just have a feeling they won't. Logically, your stance makes more sense and that's why it's hard for me to justify what I think.

Going forward, I guess we'll just have to see.

It’s a very difficult route but yes, in theory it could happen. Only via free agency really though and would need to get super creative.

Trae Young has really improved lately. They have a fun team over there in Atlanta. I really, really hope they get Zion and a relatively high pick from Dallas. Could potentially be someone like Kevin Porter. Shame this draft is not particularly strong outside of top 3-4 players.

People rightfully laugh at him but just a few days ago he got benched the whole 4th quarter in a close game after putting up 32/9 in the first 3 quarters. I mean, he probably got the message after that...

Annoyingly the team is playing too good. Before the season I had us down easily as a bottom 4 team but it's actually decently balanced and the young players are improving. Front office also messed up a lot this trade window, can't believe they weren't even able to trade one of Lin, Dedmon and Bazemore. Would've been great to get some assets and weaken the team, now they had to resort to buying Lin out.

Of course. That relationship can not be repaired, they should just accept that and so should the league.

I don’t think it matters that much whether you are the worst or fifth worst team. The difference of your odds of landing no. 1 pick is not 25% vs 7% or whatever it used to be, it’s just 14% vs 11%.

Good karma will come back to Hawks for trying.

Didn't know that - good decision by the league.

Team 1 > 14.0%
Team 2 > 14.0%
Team 3 >14.0%
Team 4 > 12.5%
Team 5 > 10.5%
Team 6 > 9.0%
Team 7 > 7.5%
Team 8 > 6.0%
Team 9 > 4.5%
Team 10 > 3.0%
Team 11 > 2.0%
Team 12 > 1.5%
Team 13 > 1.0%
Team 14 > 0.5%

Oh yeah, I know about the new draft rules, I just think we might drop to 8th or something around that due to various teams ahead of us (Pelicans, Grizzlies, Wizards) increasing their will to tank. But I just checked the standings and there is a bigger gap than I thought so 5th seems quite probable which would be nice.

Exactly. The benefit of being THE worst team is that the worst pick you could get is 5th as opposed to 9th for 5th best team but it’s not so important in this draft. Beyond Zion, RJ and Ja there aren’t any obvious talents to look forward to now (last year’s class was crazy good as was 2017, this year it’s off but no. 1 is magnificent).

What a game in Cleveland! 3 overtimes, the Nets never in front by more than 3 until the last OT.

The streak continues! Thirty one games in a row - unbelievable. The Rockets lost, but no matter, the streak is alive!

you have such a bizarre vendetta against harden
It just amuses me how far he will go to get his points. On the other hand, maybe if he played for the Grizzlies they could finally be a playoff team.;)

Whoever on this thread alleged that Harden has been playing defense this season should be shown a tape of tonight's game.

I think the Blazers were going to win anyway but that was an unfortunate end to the game. The original Draymond Green foul was a hard foul but it didn't appear to be much more than that. Oh well!

Maybe Curry should've focused more on team play instead of going for 30+ points. 2 assists, yikes.
