NBA 2018-2019

Why would Lakers keep their young core? They are just trade assets at this point, they are not going to win with this group.

That would be crazy, but I agree with you that they should keep their young core. Go for Kawhi in the summer, and if they cannot get him, go for Cousins or Klay. Sure, Cousins is not AD, but AD + LeBron + random people won't win them a championship. LeBron + Cousins + 4 very good young players on the other side would be a much better team.

They have no shot at Kawhi. They will need many rotation pieces in the Summer though if they trade for AD, plenty of minimum level veterans and some good MLE acquisition coming I think.

I still don't get why Pelicans are so confident somebody will offer them more in the summer than the Lakers now. Can Celtics really offer them more provided it might be 1-year rental?

Welll Lakers will offer the same in July so they may as well get all the deals they can get in the Summer and then decide what's best for them.

Kawhi wants to go to Los Angeles. If they keep their good squad, I don't see why he would prefer less glamorous Clippers instead of Lakers.

If they get another superstar, and KD leaves Dubs, Lakers are as good as any team in the league. Lonzo, Ingram and Kuzma are good players. They are never going to be superstars, but they all can be important players in a title-winning team. I wouldn't trade them for AD, especially considering that there might be other options to get instead of AD (with one of them as good, if not better).

Kawhi will not play for Lakers, he doesn't want to play with LeBron and he won't play second fiddle to anyybody. He's either staying at Toronto or going to one of Clippers (more likely destination) or Nets (less likely destination).

Exactly.

Lakers actually desperately need to cash in on them as they're never going to be all-star calibre players, and eventually at renewal their contracts will be worth more than their actual values.

Stan Johnson was not with Milwaukee for too long. Traded for Mirotic.

Milwaukee making a very strong move here. Mirotic will help them a lot and is amazing fit with Giannis and co. I love this move.

How the hell did Clippers just get Zubac for free, I mean how

Sixers have turned Jayson Tatum and Kings pick into Jonathon Simmons within a year and a half. Nice.

it was still a terrible trade in retrospect, but they'd have never got Tatum. if the trade doesn't happen, Celtics just take Tatum with the first pick. he was always their guy.

still, wasting the 3rd pick and another first is shocking. fortunately Hinkie still set them up sufficiently to have covered for those type mistakes.

i like Nico to Bucks and Gasol to Raptors. East arms race. first round playoffs will be crap, but will get interesting from there in the East.

And Celtics might have been the only team that had Tatum ahead of Fultz. Plus Fultz had an issue no one could have foreseen.

my magic must be the dumbest team in the nba,,,fancy getting fultz

I blame penny and shaq growing up as a kid for me supporting this rabble

Why? It’s an ultimate low risk move, the cost is almost non-existent - Simmons is garbage, late first round pick is not that valuable and second rounders can be bought for cash. Fultz has struggled with his shooting and definitely has mental issues but he has already shown flashes of his NBA potential. He could do it all last season in his short time with the team, aside from shooting. His passing looked great, he could get to the rim, he was rebounding very well and playing well in transition. He just could not shoot but if he gets his touch back he will still be a very good player. For Magic it was well worth the risk given the cost.

Mirotic to Bucks is a killer move in my opinion and one that will make them even better. You need 8-9 reliable players for the playoffs and Niko brings them closer to having that. They only need a center from the buyout market and they will be sorted, and there seems to be plenty of centers about to be bought out.

for me as low risk as he is , hes no help if mentally he has issues , especially with a team who struggles to win games

bucks are buiding nicely...having some season

INSANE GAME what a finish ! when Ingram missed the layup (it was blocked) I thought it was then and then somehow AL horford missed the rebound and then rondo throws it up buzzer beater win. That was awesome.
