NBA 2018-2019

IMLTHO this is why there is so much push back about playing with James. He'll throw you under the bus at a moment's notice if he thinks trading you or benching you or even firing you will put him in a better position. The situation with Anthony Davis is a disgrace and has got James' fingerprints all over it. If it's not tampering, I don't know what is. Rich Paul might say that he is only working for AD throughout this whole saga but ultimately it's LeBron he's really trying to benefit.

 Every report seems to show that the Pelicans and Davis are being respectful of each other. The Pelicans aren't overly bothered by anything that's going on. Everyone knew LeBron would try to improve the roster (as he should, they aren't anywhere near good enough as it is).

Can someone explain to me why Jayson Tatum is so much better than Brandon Ingram?

I'm legitimately asking, as when I look at stats I can't find anything that shows he's so much better, which seems to be the general consensus.

Even Kuzma's numbers match up, and exceed in some regards, Tatum's in offense but Kuzma isn't a great defender by any stretch.

Tatum shows the potential to be an elite scorer and a plus defender. And he is in a situation where his full offensive repertoire can not be shown since he plays on team where a bunch of guys need touches. He just needs to take less long 2s and be a better playmaker. With Ingram he has shown the potential to do a lot of things but he has not really been consistent with anything yet.

The trade would make their team better. End of.
I suppose you're right, it's just that the situation with Rich Paul/LeBron somehow pulling the strings so Davis ends up at the Lakers just doesn't feel right to me.

Another disaster game for the Lakers.....new talks with New Orleans please
After the OKC win it looked like this Laker squad could actually be pretty good. However, after this latest debacle the entire team looks to be in disarray. Tonight the Pacer fans were even shouting at Brandon Ingram "LeBron's gonna trade you." It sure can't be fun to be in that locker room right now.

Yep the entire team....LeBron isn't 100% fit but he played like a poor rookie....bye bye playoffs.

What a trade! Was listening to Zach Lowe yesterday with Kevin Arnovitz and they mentioned how Clippers might want to protect their pick and use Tobias as a trade asset. They will now almost certainly keep their lottery pick this year and will not even have any significant cap holds in the Summer so could go after two max free agents (Kawhi seems likely). Shamet is an underrated asset in this trade too.

What an amazing deal for Sixers too. Harris is exactly the type of player they needed. They will now be out looking for shooters in the buyout market I guess.

I am not sure I love this trade for the Sixers. Harris is a great shooter but, he is another player that is used to having the ball in his hands so that would leave them with potentially 4 ball dominant players in their starting lineup.

Do the sixers have cap room to get kawhi if they get rid of Butler?

Jerry West is a genius BTW. This is a great trade from Clippers perspective, having thought about it. They are going to accumulate assets, possibly for AD trade in the Summer, but even if they don't trade for a superstar they are in amazing position to build a great team now. They've also just become way more interesting for Kawhi.

They got a better deal for expiring Tobias than Knicks got for Porzingis. :D

forget all this anthony davis talk and learn about nba history with this marvelous story

Long read but I needed something to distract me from that Laker performance.

Some very interesting things in there. Hard to fathom a world where high level athletes are bumming fags from journos.

Bumming fags could mean something very different if you're American. It means taking cigarettes.

Look at the percentages. Tatum is way better. The same applies if compared to Kuzma.

The Lakers are a joke, whoring themselves like that for Davis is pathetic.
This Davis saga could also bite them in the arse from a player perspective. All the players that are currently there (apart from LeBron) essentially have no leverage as to where they are going to end up but they all surely realize that wherever that is LBJ's fingerprints are going to be all over it. If the AD trade doesn't happen, it will be interesting to see how much effort these same players put in to help LeBron get to the postseason.

Karma can be a bitch!

the lakers arent going to miss the playoffs

It will be between them and Kings now that Clippers have given up.

I don't think Utah, San Antonio, Houston or Portland fall below 7th so it's basically between Lakers and Kings for who is playing Warriors. Warriors v Kings have been great during regular season and I love Kings so I naturally hope it's them.

Just look at this

I love Pistons strategy here. They have two good bigs (one great) but pretty crap wings so they trade the only half decent wings they have for an average at best big and a shooting guard who has barely played in the league.

It's a bold strategy Cotton, let's see if it pays off.

Detroit Pistons, the Martin Shkreli of the NBA.

In the most exciting trade of the night Miami send Tyler Johnson and his amazing contract to Phoenix in exchange for Ryan Anderson and his amazing contract. Wayne Ellington got lost in between and will end up on the waivers and probably going to some decent team - guess it will be Sixers. Or Warriors.

Great win for the Nets ending a 3 game losing streak. They needed this one..

A few comments about last night... I like both trades for Sacramento. They give up their cap space for the Summer but Barnes is probably among the best wings they could get, he’s only under contract for one more year (player option that he has to pick up IMO) and the cost was very low. Also a good trade for Mavs, they open up $30million of cap space in July to build around Doncic and Porzingis, Barnes and Hardaway likely could not play together and they couldn’t trade THJ here.

Burks is also a nice get for Kings who cost nothing. They will want to make a run for the playoffs with this team.

Surprised about Otto Porter’s destination, I thought he would go to a decent team not a mess that Chicago are.

Bucks are going to score 170 in a game at some point during the next 12 months. They shot 19-30 from three and got 148 last night, even Giannis was 3 for 3.

Anyone else feeling that the Lakers should trade Lebron for AD, keep as much of their young core together as possible and continue to develop as GS probably break up?

It would be hilarious. Highly unlikely though and a move to scare off future Free Agents possibly.

Though it look interesting but that never going to happen,Lakers putting everything in for AD look really bad deal, but unfortunatuly they had left with no option.
Did NO came back with counter offer?

Well, I'm 100% sure that LeBron would have a ntc in his contract so that's going to be a difficult one.

That would be crazy, but I agree with you that they should keep their young core. Go for Kawhi in the summer, and if they cannot get him, go for Cousins or Klay. Sure, Cousins is not AD, but AD + LeBron + random people won't win them a championship. LeBron + Cousins + 4 very good young players on the other side would be a much better team.
