NBA 2018-2019

They have to accept the current offer. Teams that can offer something substantial are not on AD’s list and won’t take the risk by offering their major assets.

That offer isn't going anywhere though. If the Lakers are offering it now then I'd be pretty confident they'll still offer it in the summer. Reports are that Ainge still wants to negotiate and while Boston aren't on the list, OKC weren't on Paul George's either. Things can change.

The exact reason why it'd be foolish for them to trade him now. Some would still give them real value for a one year rental. Teams do crazy things when they think they are ready to win.

For sure. Especially if KD leaves the Warriors. Heaps of teams will think they're a genuine chance - and an extremely good one if they get AD for one season.

Bucks are just so effortlessly amazing this season. Two potentially tough road games in a row and they win them by combined million.

They will comfortably end up as the top seed in the East and with the best record in NBA I think.

Pelicans want even more than what Lakers offered apparently.

I'd be out now. Keep the young core, go for free agency. Maybe Kawhi (unlikely), but Kyrie might be an option.

Kyrie ain't sacrificing all of that money to go play with Le Bron again. He'd back himself to compete for chips at Celtics especially if KD leaves the Dubs. Lakers have to give everything to get Davis now.

There's been plenty of rumours regarding Kyrie patching things up with LeBron recently. The phonecall, LeBrons Instagram story and Kyrie saying he doesn't owe anyone shite.

They don't need to do anything now.

I agree but giving him up to Lakers now will also weaken their position in the Summer. As things stand they still have max slot for another free agent in July, and could then trade for AD. If they trade for AD now then there's no room for max player in the Summer anymore.

Also, whoever deals for him now will get him for two playoffs series. In the Summer it becomes one.

It basically comes down to whether they think Boston will make a big offer. If they do, then wait. If not, you may as well trade him now and get all the pieces Lakers are going to give you. Nobody with no. 1 pick will trade that pick for AD because teams who are in position to be top lottery candidates are also the teams that are rebuilding and do not need ready now star (aside from New York who will at best have 14% chance).

Him patching things up and him sacrificing money and wanting to play with him again are two different things altogether.

Someone who is so underrated and does not get talked about as much because Doncic is so good is Deandre Ayton. Kid is a walking double double and in his rookie season is averaging 16 PPG and 10 rebounds a game. I think he will be a monster center in a few years.

Lets not even pretend the man is not MVP he is averaging what like 40PPG in the past 2 months? Insane. Granted he does shoot a ridiculous amount of shots and a crazy amount of FG he still is the best scorer in the league he is what Melo used to be ( god I miss prime Melo).

I know it won't happen but can you imagine Lonzo, Ayton, Booker, Josh jackons, and Bridges ? that is a fantastic young core to have and I can imagine they have decent cap space too. I Also think Lonzo would thrive in the Suns.

Off topic but I also think La Melo MIGHT have a higher celling than Lonzo. Kid looks pretty talented.

How the hell do you rapture your Achilles at home?

I’ll be surprised if LaMelo makes it to the first round of the draft. Maybe late second.

Spacing on that team is wrong too and the rest of them are pretty much playing together already on a 25-win team. I think Suns will get Ball though and maybe that’s a good choice.

I am also not convinced Booker can really play on a winning team btw.

Lakers have pulled out of the race for AD. We basically offered them our whole team without LeBron and two future first-rounders, but they were asking 6 to 8 draft picks.

Happy we pulled out if that's true.

It's a business and if they (The young core) are smart then they should have known some of them will be traded......but come on the locker room must be currently awkward and maybe toxic too because they will know LeBron had a hand in all this.

Btw New Orleans can feck off!!!!

There is no way that the Lakers have pulled-out. LeBron would not have just decided he'd rather keep the young guys. I admire their efforts to use the media to play the victim card though. The whole 'we offered everything and they still said no' narrative is amusing. Of course they said no, your offers are not very good. They need to try and involve a third team.

Can someone explain to me why Jayson Tatum is so much better than Brandon Ingram?

I'm legitimately asking, as when I look at stats I can't find anything that shows he's so much better, which seems to be the general consensus.

Even Kuzma's numbers match up, and exceed in some regards, Tatum's in offense but Kuzma isn't a great defender by any stretch.

Toronto offered Lowry and JV for Conley and Gasol but got turned down.

Gasol very close to Charlotte now. They are expected to finalize details soon.

Okafor was doing the same thing, with most of the same limitations, and well...Ayton needs to improve a lot in a lot of areas to become a monster. He has the potential though

Slipping on something?

Poor guy was recovering from his knee injury. Was it the same leg? If so maybe the atrophy made it more susceptible.

From experience with recovering from an ACL and Meniscus tear - you really favor the other leg, and it gets sore and tight. The tightness would definitely contribute.

I heard it was the other way around regarding the Toronto and Grizzles trade, that Toronto turned it down.

Woj reported that we actually haven't pulled out but are tired of trying to out-bid ourselves so are now waiting for a Pelicans counter-offer. We offered the best we could give them though imo, as more picks would jeopardize the future of the team. I can't really blame the Pelicans in all of this as our offer is good but not great for a top 5 player in the league. If Davis really wants to come here (which I doubt, he'd be just as fine with the Knicks or Clippers), he'll end up where he wants to be, be it in the Summer or in 2020.

IMLTHO this is why there is so much push back about playing with James. He'll throw you under the bus at a moment's notice if he thinks trading you or benching you or even firing you will put him in a better position. The situation with Anthony Davis is a disgrace and has got James' fingerprints all over it. If it's not tampering, I don't know what is. Rich Paul might say that he is only working for AD throughout this whole saga but ultimately it's LeBron he's really trying to benefit.

They traded D'Angelo Russell for cap space pre Lebron being there. Lakers goal has been to get two superstars for a while.

The trade would make their team better. End of.

I haven't watched a lot of any of those players but Tatum is a year younger than Ingram and three years younger than Kuzma. I think with Kuzma his ceiling is basically what he is now with some small offensive improvement. Ingram seems to take a lot of mid-range shots, too. I think Tatum has higher potential as an efficient scorer.

I think he'll still get to the Lakers. Even if it isn't before the deadline and they have to wait until the summer.
