NBA 2018-2019

Clippers-bucks tied with 6 seconds left. Great game

I'm obviously biased but if only gallo wasn't so injury prone he'd have been an all-star lr at least a fringe all star. Mksses last shot, overtime now

I'm not sure adding Jimmy helps the Sixers over losing the 3 point shooting from Covington and Saric....

They'll do fine in the season, it's the playoffs where it'll start to hurt them.

Butler and Covington are the same level shooters IMO. Covington can have hot games but he’s generally very inconsistent from three. Both are normally in the 35-37% range. It’s not like they lost an excellent shooter at 3 and got a bad one back.

Saric is a good shooter but if they plug Muscala in the same role he will also shoot 38% or so. What they will miss are his playmaking skills though.

Butler was a necessary trade for them, they badly needed a superstar with experience and ability to take over the game. Butler will be that.

They can pick up Korver or even try and add Kemba in the off season.

You don’t pass up on all star talent like Butler. You take the talent and fill out the roster elsewhere.

Sixers definitely win this trade.

They can’t have Walker in the offseason. After this deal they are no longer going to be a player in next year’s free agency.

Depends what they do with Fultz. If they dump him for pure cap they could have around 30m to play with. That will get you Kemba. It could almost get you Kawhi if he and Butler both took a slight salary hit (doubtful).

They’d be better off trying to package Fultz and a future pick for someone though and hope someone bites.

I'm skeptical that anyone will do such a trade but you never know in this league. There are some ridiculously dumb executives running teams at the moment.

That run the 76ers had late last season was one of the worst things to happen to them. Until that 14 game win streak people would have just been happy with the Sixers just making the playoffs. But, the win streak and the first round win changed everyone's expectations of this team. Now people e expected them to be a serious contender in the East coming into the season even though they are lead by two young players and are trying to work another one in. I feel like with this trade they are rushing their timeline. And they are adding a player in Butler who has not worked well with young players at his last two stops.

Simmons
Reddick
Butler
Chandler???
Embiid

Fultz
McConnell
Bolden
Shameet
Johnson

Do Sixers have cap for a run at Love?
Love makes $24million this year. They could trade Chandler and Fultz to make a deal but that would be a dumb move when you consider Love will earn $120million between 2019 and 2023, nowhere near his real value. Love’s new deal is borderline untradeable despite being a good player, much like John Wall who would be impossible to trade given his contract.

I love this current iteration of Toronto team after Kawhi trade. Danny Green was a very underrated piece in that move, he has allowed them to find perfect balance after that deal.

Their team building is very impressive. With late first round picks (Anunoby, Siakam, Wright) and an undrafted VanVleet they found a second unit that is comfortably the best in the league. Siakam is so fun to watch.

After that trade I'm not sulking anymore, Butler is out and hopefully Saric in particular will provide some needed spacing.

Another good win for Portland. 10-3 right now and cruising in the East. Looked comfortable in the first half but a run from Celtics got them to 86-86 in the fourth, fortunately some good shooting from Aminu helped us win the game. I think Portland should be easily above 50 wins this season and hopefully a second seed (it is up for grabs this year as a Rockets are a mess).

Bucks win in Denver to go 10-3 as well. Brook Lopez is a ridiculous fit for that team, got 8 of 13 from three last night and has made about 40 three pointers already this season. He’s basically shooting 10 of them right now every game.

Sixers can find someone better. Love isn't worth that contract, never in a million years

they could make a run at Kemba if they get rid of Fultz. Or Tobias Harris even

Tobias Harris would be a nice fit.

I really don’t think they can fit Kemba’s deal in there. I cannot do the math now but Embiid’s $27.5million next year and $28million or so Butler will make next season once he resigns won’t leave room for another max player, unless they acquire him via trade this season which is very unlikely as Charlotte have been doing well.

Is Brook Lopez the best center ever at three point shooting (he is useless otherwise)?

The Pelicans had the game of their life against us. Everything we did, they overcame. Moore is a good shooter, but every single drive of his was successful inside. Moore above 30, Holiday and Davis above 20, and 3 double-doubles (Holiday, Davis, and Randle) meant that they couldn't lose.

They honestly made it look as if we're easy to beat. Even with his 10 assists, though, Lowry only made 4 points, and the Pelicans played with such an intensity to complement their offensive efficiency. We're bound to lose another game at some point (at least one at home), but quite how we've been humiliated against the Pelicans like that is embarrassing.

caris levert :(
What a dreadful luck this man has. He missed most of college basketball due to injuries, now that he’s been having so breakout season at Nets and playing like a borderline star he goes down with an injury again, probably out for a season.

Raptors are quite similar in how they are built to Blazers, not surprised about this results to be honest considering what they did to us in the playoffs last year. Pelicans aren’t that great of a team but are a terrible matchup for teams like this.

I read yesterday that Pelicans were trying very hard to get Butler but would not offer Holiday or any picks. Considering they cannot trade Randle and Payton either, what the feck were they going to offer? Solomon Hill and Moore?

Why the feck would you pump fake a free throw? Why?

Kings are playing insane basketball. They won’t make the playoffs but will also not be anywhere near as bad as they were supposed to be, meaning the pick Celtics will get will not be as amazing as they thought.

Hopefully they'll cool down, and end up with the 2nd pick. Then the Suns pick RJ as 1st pick, to make Zion a Celtic.

Dubs lost again without Steph. It's getting to be a regular occurrence these days. In the 10 seasons he's been with the Warriors they are 39-64 when he doesn't play and 402-247 when he does.

LeVert could be back as soon as January. Great news for him and Nets.

Warriors in the Steve Kerr era: 254-47 with Steph Curry 22-19 without Steph Curry

Saw this on reddit.

Hard to win with just three All-Stars.
It sure is. Ask 2017 All-stars Russell Westbrook, Paul George and Carmelo Anthony. They couldn't even win 50 games. I presume that's who you meant. ;)
