NBA 2018-2019

Quite a few teams that’ll tank in order to get Barrett, I suppose? Guy already looks like a franchise altering player.

So does Zion. What an athlete.

Atlanta is tanking already. Orlando, Phoenix, Cleveland and New York will too.

Going to the Lakers-Timberwolves game tonight, hopefully not a blowout and a good performance from LeBron and the Lakers.

What's wrong with Jokic? I excused him for having three shots on Monday but he had just one yesterday and it came 3 seconds before the clock expired. His team mates were getting at him on the bench for passing up open shots. I don't get it.

Major Overreaction time: Zion is Thanos and every mediocre to bad team should tank to try and get him in the draft

Seen the odds on Klay’s next team after 2019 and Warriors were actually the 2/1 which suggest he’s more likely to leave than stay. That’s a surprise for me. Lakers were also 2/1 and shortest of all other teams, for some reason there were Miami and Boston at 10/1 or so which makes absolutely zero sense whatsoever as they should be 1000/1 and Clippers were quite short at 7/1 or something.

I really doubt that he leaves. I cannot see a situation in which Durant stays but Klay leaves and I also cannot see how they both leave either.

Gasol and Jackson did a great job preventing him from getting to his spots.

If Klay makes an all NBA team this year I think that could put a fly in the ointment with his contract as far as the Dubs are concerned because he would then be eligible for a supermax deal. I think somebody would pay him his money if that happens and the Warriors may not want to/ be able to afford to especially if Durant signs a supermax deal.

He won’t make an all NBA team though.

Can you even have three super max deals? They would have $140million or so between him, Curry and Durant.

Milwaukee are rather good

And so are Portland

The Bucks are beginning to scare me :nervous:

I fancy our chances against the Celtics over 7 games but these Bucks...

Eastern battle is gonna be so fun this season.

We beat them quite easily three days ago. Didn’t even need Dame to play well. :)

They are very good though and very fun to watch. Definitely have a strong soft spot for them.

They’ve really surprised me this season.

I think for once there isn’t a huge gap between the quality of the East and West. Houston and even the Jazz have been a huge disappointment so far.

I think the gap is still significant because you have 5-6 teams in the West that would compete for top 3 in the East and none of the teams who will finish 6-8 in the East would be anywhere near the playoffs in the East. If you look at players there's also a big gap, there are maybe 3-4 players in the East who would make a West All-Star roster. East is still more fun though because you genuinely don't know who will make the finals, there are three teams with legitimate claim for it. In the West you know Warriors have won it.

I'm not really surprised by the Bucks. Their personnel was good last year, they've made some great moves in the off-season and with a proper coach like Bud they were always going to make a leap. They have maybe been a bit better than I expected them to be but not by much.

Yeah hard to disagree with much there, but I was more going by the idea that you can make a case for the second (and possibly third) best teams in the NBA being in the East. You’re right about the lower playoff seeded teams though.

I'm not sure how great Draymond would be on another team but he's definitely someone the Warriors need on defense. Steve Kerr said last night that the loss was not just because Draymond wasn't there and if you only consider his personal defense he probably has a point. The thing is though everybody else's defense suffers when he's not playing. Not sure if the Dubs would have won last night anyway because the team as a whole didn't play well but I certainly think it would have been closer.

On to the subject that really matters. Hope Steph is not out for too long. For all Draymond's great qualities, Steph is the one they will miss. Last season 17-14 without him. He needs to be back ASAP.

Steph has been playing like MVP this season, like on those two seasons before KD came. Was hoping that he will try to get an another MVP award, so hoping that he returns ASAP.

Wow that’s actually a decent package for Timberwolves. Covington and Saric are both good. I think it’s also a decent deal for Sixers but it won’t help their spacing issues and I have no idea who plays at 4 now. Makes sense for Sixers to finally get their experienced superstar though.

Both teams should be happy.

Looks like a good move for Phila. Not so much for the wolves though, saric and covington for Butler is not a good return

It is as much as you are going to get for a disgruntled star in the last year of his contract. It’s a good return, both are good players.

Heh, i dunno, i think if they can wait until January they could get a desperation offer by the Heat, Lakers or Rockets.

A desperation offer from Heat or Rockets would not even be as good as this one, they just don’t have the assets. Rockets wanted to send four picks but Timberwolves want to play and compete now. I doubt Lakers have Butler on their radar, he’s not a good fit next to LeBron and they clearly want to wait until Summer to add talent with max slot.

Can wave goodbye to Fultz ever being a decent player. Butler will destroy him
