Now I know why I rarely post in here
Too lazy to write New Orleans.
Not title contender “hot” but during the playoffs which feel like forever ago and in general when they are doing well and winning there is nothing quite like it.So you have no idea what it's like when the Knicks are "hot" then
What I meantIf anything its nola
Knicks fans behaviour in here Truly a deluded and obnoxious franchise. You guys should be happy to miss out on Zion, it gives your shitty fanbase another opportunity to boo your pick on draft day - just to see him get out of that dumpster fire at the first opportunity like KP.

I know they haven’t. Once again my point was never about the Knicks because I know they suck and will continue to suck unless they get the 2 big guys this summer along with the good young core they are building. They havent been a title contender this century. Theres lots of things like it
Hawks can’t really compare to the Knicks at all besides the fact I admit they are doing a good rebuild. Most players would still rather play for NY then Atlanta 9x out of 10.Yeah, might aswell just stay irrelevant like the Hawks.
The 'fans' who boo draft picks aren't even proper fans, it's basically a running joke now by some jerk kid and his father

My point about New Orleans stands and in a few years we will see who ended up being right.

My exact prediction is the furthest they will possibly get is the second round. Followed by Zion leaving after his contract is done. That is my exact prediction. If new Orleans doesnt win it all in 5 years that doesn't make you right. If they never contend during the first 9 years then fair enough
It’s not assuming countless reports said he was not happy about it. Just look them up. As for Atlanta it’s as obvious as it comes that it won’t work there for every reason I said above.
I agree I even said I like the way the hawks are rebuilding. But everyone got butt hurt over saying something that most likely is going to happen and wound not be surprising when it does.Thing is, I actually like this Hawks team and franchise as a rule but this past day has brought out the worst in posters on here. Some posters I did actually like aswell, so I'll choose to take a step back and not post in here anymore I think.

You think he will leave after 4 years after accepting the qualifying offer?

It’s actually you Knicks fans who have been disrespecting multiple franchises that have done nothing wrong because you cannot get over the fact that something with 86% likelihood happened.
Yeah OK, just the Knicks fans being disrespectful
Has anyone ever declined a max to accept qualifying offer?
I’m sorry I meant to say New Orleans. What about Atlanta?
AD didn’t have a problem doing so.He can’t leave after his contract is done that easily. He would have to risk significant amount of money for 12 months.
If he accepts it then wouldn’t he have to stay another year ... or am I wrong about that because if it’s accepted then he is under contract for one more year. You think he will leave after 4 years after accepting the qualifying offer?

I’m pretty sure that’s how it works but you might know better then I do.
Indeed. Nobody has really said a bad thing about any team until you started shouting from the rooftops about how New Orleans are crap, don’t deserve to exist and will fail miserably even with Zion.
No, not even close. Greg Monroe is the most prominent player to sign and he ended up getting a 3 year max from Milwaukee.
Note than players have different max amounts based on service time and accomplishments so "max" is misleading. It was only like $20 million per year.
Read back the pages then I suggest.
All I said was that they most likely won't become a juggernaut in the West as AD will be leaving. That is facts. Also, New Orleans are one of the worst ran NBA franchises, and are a contender to be moved. The attandence numbers don't lie. As far as the lottery goes, it is exactly that and congratulations to New Orleans.
Anyways, I have spoken too long on this thread, so as I said I'll stop posting in here and you and the other 4-5 posters can have it to yourselves talking about how much you hate the Knicks.
I thought you meant the fact that he will get less money somewhere else if he leaves this season then he would have if he stayed in New Orleans. You do realize he didn’t do that? He signed a max extension with New Orleans at earliest opportunity.

Dude no one said that you do realize that right? Saying they won’t win a chip or get passed the second round at best in the time Zion is there is simply a prediction and a very viable one at that.I don’t actually hate the Knicks, I’m indifferent to that team. I do dislike the kind of attitude you and your friend have shown here. The league does not owe you anything and it certainly does not owe you no. 1 pick in this draft.
All of this kicked off with multiple posts about how Pelicans do not deserve him. Nobody said a word about the Knicks before, really. You are the only fan base who has complained so much about it everywhere on the web since yesterday.
They have some hilarious memes about the Knicks not getting Zion I don’t know if that is what your referring too but they are funny as hell.@Sarni You need to watch the instagram I posted a page or so ago. It will crack you up
I’ll go look at that what page did you post it on?I explained it in detail on the previous page. Basically unless he leaves $150 million on the table, hes there for 9 years.
2 - team declines option
3 - team declines option
4 - team and player dont agree on long term extension, player plays 4th year on offer, becomes restricted free agent, signs with another team, original team chooses not to match
Before the 4th year, teams can sign 4 year extensions (8 in total) and teams can designate 1 player to receive a 5 year extension (9 in total).
So what it basically works out to is if the player sucks, they will get 2, 3 or 4 years depending on just how bad they are. If they are good but not great they can work out an extension the summer before year 4. If they cant agree, they play out year 4 on a qualifying offer or hit restricted free agency. If they are great, a team will offer them the max extension for 4/5 years before year 4.
So basically a great player had these options the summer before year 4:
1.) Accept the qualifying offer - $4.5 million and then become a free agent one year later (Porzingis was threatening to do that)
2.) Test restricted free agency, sign a big deal and have it inevitably get matched
3.) Sign a long term extension with original team - $157 million over 5 years
And if you are going to get matched anyway, you might as well sign the extension. So it's really option 1 or 3.
4 years and out assuming all the risk of an injury or 9 years and guaranteed $150 million plus
