NBA 2015-2016

Still a bad situation to be in. CP3 is probably the smartest PG out there and he'll definitely exploit the situation both ways (GSW without curry and Curry playing after just returned from injury).
Clippers should do everything they can now to win the game tonight so that they can seal it in 5.

Yep Clippers will want it done sooner rather than later to exploit the possibility of playing against Warriors without Curry. I think Blazers v Clippers series is far from done though, Clippers were convincing winners in the first two but Blazers showed great spirit in 3 and took the win with good tactics, they got amazing atmosphere at Rose Garden and that could well propel them to 2-2 tonight and from there anything can happen. Clippers are huge favourites but Blazers do have an outside chance IMO. When McCollum and Lillard are firing at all cylinders they're a truly good team.

Curry's had the MRI. Grade 1 MCL sprain in right knee. Will be re-evaluated in 2 weeks according to Warriors feed.

Really happy it wasn't worse.

He should be back midway in the next round and if the Warriors are out by then, then they didn't have no business being in the playoffs that long anyway :smirk:

ffs why does OKC wear the tshirts in every home game? I will never accept the sleeves as a proper NBA look.

Blazers, what a night! Haven't even needed Lillard's heroics so far to be 12 points ahead, what a game from Aminu!

What a turnaround. Paul is definitely out of the series and very likely out for season with broken hand, Griffin looks injured too and could well miss Game 5 in LA which means Portland now have a real chance of progressing plus Curry's injury is now much less meaningful with Paul out.

Clippers are still favourites but it's not anymore nigh on impossible for Blazers.

Thought the Clippers may have been a chance with the Curry news, but if Paul has a broken hand then that is surely them done. Even if they get past Portland they won't beat Golden State without him. Went from a bad day for the Warriors (still is of course) to a bearable one.

In other news, man the East is tight right now - all series bar Cleveland (obviously) tied at 2-2.. Expecting the Heat, Pacers and Hawks to go through. Hopefully we'll get a Game 7 already.

All of them could go either way but I really hope Hornets pull it off, they've had an amazing season so far.

For Blazers tomorrow's game will be crucial. There's a good chance Griffin will be out too and they really, really need to win in LA against Clippers without Paul and Griffin. I don't think Jordan has it in him to lead a team to playoff win without their support, Redick may still well step up but I think Blazers have the edge and also momentum going for them now. I strongly believe Portland will take game 6 so if they win tomorrow they could have series over by Friday and what a turnaround this would be with everyone predicting 4-0 to Clippers only 4 days ago. Even if they lose tomorrow they might still take it to game 7 and anything could happen then.

Clippers will scrap through and then swept by GSW, and Spurs will beat OKC in 6. I just hope Curry is back by the WCF.

As for the East, is there really any doubt that Cavs are gonna win it?

I wouldn't be that sure Clippers will make it. If both Griffin and Paul are out, I think Blazers can do this. Squad wise Blazers are better than Clippers minus Griffin and Paul.

Well so much for that, great jinx from me.
Man CP3 is sooo unlucky, really feel for him. Can easily see Portland winning the series now but both teams will lose to the warriors anyway. Really sucks that such a possible great series is now taken away from us, I hope the spurs okc series will lift up to the expectations at least.
East is great tho with 3 series now at 2-2, I hope Miami, Indiana and Hawks go through.

All shaping up nicely for the Lebron and the Cavaliers. The East will continue to beat up on each other while the Cavs rest up. Then the major contenders in the West go through at least one punishing series (possibly two) before their eventual meeting in the finals with the self proclaimed "King".

even when they're unlucky...they're lucky

Doc said at start of the season that they would have to make changes in the offseason if they don't go further than the 2nd round this year, meaning they would break up the core of CP3-Blake-DJ. Is this still the plan or do the injuries excuse them?

The only one I think they might make available for trade is Griffin and I reckon the likes of Celtics and Thunder (if Durant leaves) will likely try to get him. Jordan will IMO stay and I certainly wouldn't expect Paul to move anywhere.

Clippers are officially done -

Griffin ruled out for the rest of the playoffs and Paul is undergoing surgery atm - he'll be out 4-6 weeks.

Trailblazers v Warriors it is....

Wow, this is really tough luck for Clippers. I think Blazers would have tied the series yesterday even if Paul played until the end but Clippers would have remained favourites over 7 games anyway, now I'd have Blazers as marginal favourites.

Come on Portland!

Really is awful luck, and possibly the last we see the trio of Paul - Jordan - Griffin play together.

As for the current series, momentum is with the Trailblazers and without the duo of Paul and Griffin, I almost expect the Clippers to give up now.

Injuries blow.

Hopefully Portland can make their first few games against Golden State interesting. Didn't they win a game against GS during the regular season?
Yep they actuallly crushed Warriors 137-105.

Toronto didn't bottle it for once but they were close nonetheless. Expecting a Game 7 in this series.

GSW should be able to close their series today.

Deserved award for Kerr, as well. Great credit to Walton too.
Love Steve Kerr - and with them setting the NBA record it should have been a straightforward decision to give him COY.

But, with Walton in charge for half the games (don't care if the wins officially belong to Kerr)...Kerr shouldn't have been eligible.

Walton has the better record as well, but well, Kerr's the head coach. In any case, the award is for the entire staff and I'm sure they took it as such.

I agree about Steve Kerr, but having said that IMHO he was even more deserving of the award last year. First year head coach taking a decent, but massively underachieving team to 67 wins. I know Mark Jackson turned the Dubs fortunes around but there is an enormous difference between winning 67 games (Kerr) vs 51 (Jackson). In addition there was a lot of bad feeling when Jackson was fired which Kerr had to overcome. Budenholzer did well in Atlanta but winning 60 games in the East is much easier than winning 60 games in the West especially since the Cavs were essentially marking time until the playoffs started. Either way, I was glad to see Kerr finally get the kudos he so richly deserved.

I see what you're saying, but from everything you hear Kerr was in the background the entire time, was also at practices and gave input to the team throughout the year. In addition it was a coaching decision to put Walton in charge in the first place while he was out which he also deserves credit for. The obvious choice would have been Ron Adams due to his vast experience in the game but Kerr went with Walton and the rest is history.

Toronto

For once they didn't bottle it, fair play for that comeback.

Now pleaaaase let's get past the first round.

Happy about Stotts coming 2nd for COTY award, he really deserves it. Portland were tipped to win 23 games before season started and had to deal with loss of 4 out of 5 first team players yet finished 5th in the West and might actually make it into the semifinals.
