Nba 2011-2012

Interesting, I'd be surprised if Amare didn't have the right to reject a trade after choosing New York when they were awful, he would have had all the leverage.

Wouldn't send a good message to other star players, "Choose New York, we'll ship you a year after you sign!"

I don't see why Dwight Howard's desires should be more important here than Amare's.

Going to my first NBA-game ever in two weeks :D Travelling to Florida to work at the PGA Merchandise Show, and will get to watch Celtics @ Magic

Good choice! I'd be interested to know how the atmosphere in Orlando compares to other cities, it's one of the most sterile big cities in America.

Lakers win with Kobe scoring 40+ again; the best news being his wrist is starting to feel better. Great win considering the bench amassed a grand total of 4 pts between themselves.

We're without Blake for 3-4 weeks which is a big loss considering our lack of options at PG and the fact he was having a decent season.

Edit: Miami lost their 3rd straight . Bigger concern will be another injury for Wade.

Dallas 99, Sacramento....60?

Kings were 26% from the field, .095% from three. That's 22 of 86 and 2 for 21.

I personally can't remember reading about a worse game of basketball.

Lakers lost to the other team in LA despite Kobe hitting 40+ points again. Seems our shite options at PG was the main contributor to Paul's big game & Clippers win.

I don't mean to bring the NFL into this thread, but that really was how I felt yesterday. I watched the Kings throw up brick after brick and I knew that on any other night I'd be flipping my shit, but yesterday, it just didn't matter. I guess that's one nice thing about following multiple sports.

Where Will Dwight Howard Land? - ESPN

Dwight and Dallas-area native D-Will wind up with the Mavs next summer

It has not reached the point that teams think Dallas actually has this fantasy double down all lined up already Miami Heat-style. Anyone who has studied the Mavericks' cap situation knows they'd have to clear out pretty much everyone on the roster not named Dirk Nowitzki to have enough cap space to make bids high enough for two max-level players to consider them.

Specifically? Dallas would likely have to release Brendan Haywood through the amnesty clause next summer, trade away Shawn Marion without taking back any salary and also give away young guards Roddy Beaubois and Dominique Jones, while also letting free agents-to-be Jason Terry, Lamar Odom, Vince Carter and Delonte West walk.

However ...

Lots of folks around the league are starting to believe that it's possible if not probable. Even before the Showcase started Monday, two rival executives told ESPN.com that they think Marion will still have trade value at season's end after the defense and energy he supplied during Dallas' championship run and the solid manner in which he's started this season.

If they're right, even with two seasons left on Marion's contract after this one (valued at just over $18 million) and his 34th birthday looming in May, Dallas really could have a shot if Howard is wearing anything but a Nets or Lakers jersey at season's end.

Said one East admirer of Mavericks owner Mark Cuban: "Mark has made Dallas a destination city right up there with the Lakers and Miami."

The Sixers are the surprise package this season so far with a 9 and 3 record.

Edit: Make that 10-3. They just beat the Bucks.

Ryan Anderson is balling this year.

The man is lights out, and he gets enough rebounds to play PF even though he's not a great defender. I generally don't care for 3 point shooting PFs, unless they can also play in the post, because they usually leave their center alone for offensive rebounds, and tend to be weak defenders. In my mind, you've got 3 players on the floor who should be shooters, you shouldn't need a PF shooting 3s.

But then it's not his fault he's 6'10 and too slow to guard a small forward. He certainly scores enough to justify his presence in the team.

How are the Clippers struggling at home against the Nets? I know they don't have Paul but still its the freggin' Nets. Come on Clips!

Superb win from OKC. They look very good and are probably the best in the west.

Terrible start from both Mavs and Lakers in terms of shooting. And Lamar gets a standing ovation from the crowd which was great to see.

You know I do blame you for Miami's decline.. Ever since you started posting this percentages thing they started losing..

Luckily it's still early in the season. Hope to get Wade back soon.

My Pacers! Oh, that's just my luck, I give Sacramento crap and they go and beat my team!

Jeez, sounds like we gave it away, only scored 8 in the 4th quarter and blew a big lead to lose...

But mostly I just wanted to stop by to make fun of Danny Ainge, who is now looking to trade Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett or Paul Pierce to get younger, less than a year after they decided to stick by their 'big three' and ship out Kendrick Perkins.

Good luck with that!

Miami can't use the same excuse they had last year for starting cold, as they were just getting to know each other. But really, they have enough talent that they should be able to win games even if one of their 'big three' go down.

It's been great for Mario Chalmers's stats, anyway!

If you look at the box score, it's really hard to see what separated the two teams. I fell asleep during the game, so I can't say all that much, but I did wake up once the lead was down to under ten.

Ultimately I think it came down to hustle, especially at the end of the game. The Kings were simply making an extra effort to go for loose balls and got quite a few steals after the Pacers managed to grab on to those loose balls without protecting them. 18 turnovers to 12 isn't a gigantic difference, but 30 offensive rebounds to 18 definitely is. When you can get 30 second chance opportunities, 30% shooting isn't too bad. Also 41 free throws attempted as opposed to 27.

Also I'm done with John Salmons and I think we somehow need to find a way to start Isaiah Thomas.

Salmons looked great for the Bucks for half a season, averaged close to 20 points and created off the dribble, got to the rim, it was great.

He signed a new contract and then became a completely different player. He had been accused of that in Chicago, but I didn't want to believe it.

Their excuse hasn't been Wade's absence. In fact they are 5-0 now without Wade.. They lost all those 4 games with all big three playing.

And even though they lost 4 games already this season, I still think they look better this year than last year. The supporting cast has improved a lot in my opinion. Cole and Battier are very good additions, and if Miller and Haslem stay fit they could also look like two new additions compared to last year.

Bosh and Chalmers have improved too IMO..

And what should be noted too in comparison to last year, Miami seem to fare much better this year against strong teams than last year. Already beating Dallas, Boston, San Antonio, and the Lakers.

I think they have a chance this year.

Just a chance? Considering the team that beat them got further into their 30's and backwards, they have to be the favourites, by a distance. I don't care how much they chill out in the regular season.

If he shoots another fadeaway I'm gonna flip my shit. As of right now Francisco Garcia is a better player and a much better leader, especially when Chuck Hayes is still injured. I'd rather Garcia start.

Nobody on the team is shooting well, but it's less about poor shot selection than it is about simply poor shooting. Even Jimmer's gone cold.

Lakers getting smashed for a second flight in Florida. Its pathetic watching them play and I think Morris is THE worst, most stupid basketball player I have ever seen.

ESPN reporting that Deron Williams would be interested in signing with one of Knicks, Lakers or Mavs if he doesn't sign an extension with the Nets.
