Carvajal has been the best RB in the world for the last 2 years. Just that it won't happen, Madrid aren't that big fools.
Real just paid over €30M for Danilo, I think we have a shot at Carvajal.

I really don't see Clyne as a massive upgrade, or an upgrade of any kind, on Rafael.
Let's face it, until about 5 weeks ago Valencia was widely derided on here as being a bit bobbins.

In that case it's probably Clyne then.Like posted above, they bought Coentrao for big money as backup for Marcelo. Danilo is replacing Arbeloa, not Carvajal. He's still got a 4 year contract so unless we're willing to pay 50m for a rightback (Real Madrid have no intention to sell) he's an unrealistic target.
I have no idea why everyone is assuming Carvajal will be the back up. And Rafael contract expires in 2016(which means he will more than likely be sold) we need a RB this summer. We can not wait a year
Because of the price they just paid for Danilo, the star names/big buys always start at Real Madrid, it's why Isco is back to the bench as soon as both Bale and Rodriguez were fit. People bring up the Contreao thing all the time but the difference was he was signed under Mourinho who started out using him in midfield and who was trying to fight the Real model of how things were done. Ancelotti simply does as he's told like most Real Madrid managers. I don't see why we can't wait another year, Valencia is doing fine and Clyne isn't even an upgrade, the position is not one of desperation.
It was the match vs Italy that changed the tone.I'm so sure that the majority of the caf really wanted this guy and then a few weeks ago the tone dramatically changed?
I like him. Haven't seen him have a bad game and I think he'll be a good signing for good value.
What if Valencia gets injured.
Can't we just give Rafa another chance? #giverafaachance
We've managed this year with Valencia, Rafael and McNair, I think we could do the same and trust to the fact Valencia is hardly ever injured rather than bringing in a mediocre player just because he's English.

I'm in this boat. He's better than Valencia and he's better than Clyne/Coleman as well. He's also been fit for months now so that excuse doesn't work anymore.
Rafael at his best is so much better than him.
You the person number 75674 to ask that question.Meh.
Decent player but hardly an outstanding talent. Not so young that you'd expect massive improvement either.
I'd prefer Coleman from the PL alone. Surely there are better options out there in other leagues?
Would potentially give us an all-English back 4 for years to come.

Feckin best one. I reckon after May this place will be absolutely buzzin under the weight of SSN's confirmed news.Must be a good question so.
Hernandez part is surely a click bait. Most likely PSG or something like that would scoop him before Southampton even had something to say.Bizarre signing if true. Surely Hernandez can do better than Southampton.

I'd be happy with him. Part of the best defence in the league and he's had an impressive season, I think some people have been swayed by his poor performances for England but he'd be a solid signing.
I would welcome him also but a 24 years old prospect should slowly sound more like a finished article... still not entirely sure how close he is to an instant impact type player.I would welcome him, from what I have seen he looks to be a great prospect but will be sad to see Rafael move on and would like a little more experience across the back four.
