So, if he came and was constantly injured, who would we prefer out of him and rafael? as i would still prefer our little Brazilian.

Danilo looks a better option to me. Problem is Real are supposedly interested and there is only one winner there.

Clyne is a potentially excellent player. He is as least as good as the current Valencia and is young enough to get better. I wouldnt mind him deepening our fullback options. Im also far from convinced Rafael will leave in the summer. I just feel LVG understands he needs two specialist fullbacks as right back options. Hence interest is there even in Dani Alves.

His passing is woeful....I really hope we don't buy him as our passing with Jones, Smalling is bad enough!!!

Can't believe anybody thinks he is an upgrade on Valencia. Valencia and Rafael are both better players.

He's certainly not better enough to justify a £15-£20 million outlay imo.

There are probably two England players I'd have at United - and Clyne isn't one of 'em.

To be honest, we should be all over Carvajal. Great RB.

I like Clyne and wouldn't mind if he came to United as a back up to Rafael or someone else. Would be a good squad player for us.

But he's just not good enough to be first choice at a club like United. Seen quite a few posts where people say he is better than Rafael, anyone who honestly thinks that is nuts.

I don't know how it's legal for Real Madrid to complete a deal for a player before the transfer window opens while he's playing for a team still in the same competition as them, but now Danilo is off the table we should call it a day on the RB hunt and leave it alone until someone actually worth buying comes along, Clyne isn't the answer to the questions the Valencia haters are asking.

Bayern announced a deal with Mario Gotze when Bayern still had to play Dortmund in the CL and German cup final.

How was Darmian up against him, for those that saw England-Italy? Both Darmian and Clyne have played both fullback spots and they play for clubs who won't be in the CL next year, so either makes sense in terms of us needing a right back but maybe also some LB depth.

Darmian looked a comfortably better play, more composed and technically superior.

I always liked Darmian from the little i saw of him. He impressed me at the WC, watched him a bit afterwards, i think he would be relatively cheap too. Rarely injured, although that doesnt mean much nowadays, changes as soon as they arrive here.

2 of Italy's best chances came from Darmian vs Clyne, one getting in behind him and another where Darmian went in field and passed.

Clyne is a a fairly good player but he's anything but solid so far this season. Darmian is just one of many who had a productive night against him

I haven't seen enough of him to be sure, but from what I have seen and read and the fact that he's certainly gettable from a club like Torino, I wonder why someone big hasn't signed him.

He's average... Don't really think he'd be an improvement on valencia even if valencia is out of position at right back, as valencia has done well this season. Clyne is pretty quick and decent in everything, but he doesn't stick out with any part of his game really. A rafael on form is the better player comfortably imo. We should aim for higher.

It always seemed to me that we were resigned to signing clyne because its either him or coleman, and he's younger. There doesn't seem to be a lot of talented fullbacks out there. Anyways, I doubt either is good enough to be starting for us though.

It does seem odd, maybe he lacks consistency? Although he's done enough to get in the national team.

Carvajal please - Younger, Better, probably cheaper, More solid defensively and Spanish

The Express are the really really really shitty one when it comes to transfer news right? As they have a story saying we are going to offer £15M + Hernandez for Clyne.
