Moyes: "There's no budget" | Moyes told that he can spend as much as he likes

Not never no but any targets this summer are likely to be ones Fergie identified and I believe Fergie was always holding out for a special player for the midfield so if Thiago was that player then it would take a similar talent being available for us to bring in anyone this summer. Next summer will be a different case entirely though especially depending on how the upcoming season goes.

This. Ill just add what ive been saying 2-3 years ago. The longer we wait the more we will pay.

There's a reward for your ass boyo. I'm gonna tout you into Interpol & claim the reward & buy a feckin mid-fielder...

Edit: Cops are on the way. Reward to be deposited soon after your capture & then i'll Tweet Joey Barton - jobs a goodun

That's all well and good but you don't know where I am. For all you know, I could have had plastic surgery to make myself look younger so I can try out for our youth squads. I'll get in and my rise through the ranks and into the first team's midfield will be nothing short of meteoric. How do you like me now?
Never ever stop running. Ever. Do that and you'll be fine.

I got my running shoes on, mate. It's all good.
Try El Al's terminal one. That'll dampen your spirits.
I've only ever flown with Aeroflot and Star Alliance. I may try El Al when I visit Haifa/Tel Aviv next year.

All those posts considered - there's definitely something well feckin dodgy about you pal

Surely there's a way we could use him to get ourselves a decent CM?

Sorry man, but needs must. A CM takes priority.

As above. Just waitin on confirmation that the swvine has been apprehended by the Interfilth & then the reward will transferred into my account. When thats sorted - we'll have our new mid-fielder!

Edit: Just gotta text back from Joey - he's in!

No, I'm not. Joey knows squat. He's far too busy perfecting his Frenchy-British accent.

Ah here, why'd you go and do that. We needed to wait longer. Make him sweat. The more fear, the higher price we get.

And Barton isn't what we need.

We really are going to be so underwhelmed with our signings when they finally happen after nearly two months dreaming of Thiago.

That's not a slight on the club, it's policies or Moyes. It's just that its highly unlikely anyone that gets the muppet juices flowing is going to be available.

Please ban the next idiot who jokingly says we will sign Osman or Hibbert.

It got boring the week Moyes was announced.

It's obviously a stupid comment, but a part of me does believe if we had a manager like Mourinho it would give us an edge in the transfer market.
There is no question it would.

Still don't think he he was the right man for the job though.

We're not signing no one decent. Season needs to hurry up and start. Muppet season is just going to be a disaapoint. Moyes has already previously gone through a summer transfer window with Everton not singing a single player. Really don't know what we are 'working on'.

Moyes has been in scouseland for so long you might worry he's been turned into a secret ABU.

If you're a ridiculous non-Brit, such as Thiago, you too would hesitate to sign with a club with a brand new, relatively untested manager like Moyes. At least going into his first season as United manager. That's not to say we can't or won't land a big name, but it's an issue to be aware of that I suspect goes under appreciated here.

I have no recommendations or predictions, but I would just urge patience among the caftards. The squad is a very strong one as is and I'd personally consider it a great success if all Moyes did was to keep Rooney and Nani. And if he got Cleverley and Ando playing in truly fine form we could all break out the jizz. But I'm an Ando skeptic so we'll see where things on the central mid front before the transfer window closes.

The huge loose end is Evra. If he wants to wind down and cash in with a French team, so be it. We could do much worse than Baines, though I'm still in the "give Fabio a chance" camp. A lesser loose end is Powell. I like this kid a lot but I'm of two minds on whether to send him on loan or not. Gun to my head I say give this kid a shot to make an impact with the first team.

The ABUs feel that Ferguson last great hurrah was to push a poor Man Utd side over the line in a season where their competitors shot themselves in the feet/head/bollox. They don't see Moyes repeating the feat and doubt he's got what it takes to rebuild.

Dunno about that man, but its a fair point alright though. Hope thats not the case, but you can be sure that Fergie would be a draw for players, some other players were probably afraid of him too & wouldnt have joined.

Although, when Ronnie went to Real in 2009, Pelegrini was just in the door & Kaka also joined then aswell, so those players went there regardless of who was the manager - they probably didnt even know who was the manager at that & probably didnt meet him until first training session too!

Alot of probably's in that post...

Lost 5 games, went 18 games without a defeat, and won the league with 89 points, top of the league since November, only lost 3 games against the previous seasons top 5.. Hardly poor.

Skepticism toward Moyes is fully understandable. But in a bizarre way doesn't the fact that we went with Moyes and not Mourinho make the United project, if I may put it that way, all the more praiseworthy? We didn't go with the sure thing...we went with a manager that presents a huge risk. If I were a neutral, or even an ABU, I'd tip my cap to United.

Only time will tell how it will work out and as I mentioned above that Doubt, whether Moyes is up to the job, will likely play some role in the frame of mind of our transfer targets. We might just end up with former Everton players to fill our roster holes, after all.

But then again I would say as a utd fan you would be lying if you didn't have doubts and fears for this season.

Only natural really. We are stepping into the unknown

Difficult to say - Guardiola and Mourinho didn't want to come by all accounts (though neither look like long-term club builders in the Man Utd tradition). Moyes is probably the best of the Brits but I don't think that's saying much. He has a poisoned chalice though, as soon as results dip the knives will be out pronto pronto.

Any bullshit tabloid goss that give any idea who we're after that aren't Ronnie or Bale?

I'd consider Maureeniho a risk & Moyes the safe bet to be honest. Moyes would take a massive interest in all the players at all levels, Maureeniho wouldnt bother his arse & would probably have wanted about £200m warchest too - Moyesy just wants a few loan deals & a new kettle for the new office at Carrington or whatever the feck they call it now. Is the bog roll even sponsored there aswell?

...and with an injury-riddled defence once again & no Bebe either... Harumph!
It's no coincidence we started to look a lot more solid once Vidic was back playing. Pretty sure we also went like 8 games without conceding at one point.

I think it's too easy to blame our league triumph on other teams being shit. In any other season 89 points would have been good enough to secure the league i would have thought, which makes the fact that they were so far away irrelevant really. If City woulda been a bit better and finished on 87 points or something it woulda been seen as 'close run' despite the fact that our results wouldn't have changed. Fact is the league is fecking hard nowadays, a lot harder than it was 15 years ago. 6 teams competing for top 4 every year, and then you throw Stoke, Swansea, Southampton etc into the mix and there's some tough games there.

I think we can say with great confidence that Jose wanted the job. But I doubt Pep had any interest at all. Whatever the truth, Moyes is the man in the hot seat and there's already grumbling because we haven't landed a big name mid. If he can get through the brutal early season fixtures in good shape the knives should stay in the drawer for a very long time.

I'm shitting it over the new season! I've only ever known Fergie so this is an unknown quantity of a season for me.

And agree with the person who said the knives will be out. Look at what some people were saying after the first friendly game and after the Thiago saga. People will be all over Moyes as soon as he drops points this season.
