I don't know why that's so hard to believe? For years I've been saying we wouldn't sign a midfielder only to be laughed at and then what happened? I was correct. I see no reason to believe we have any more targets other than 2 defenders based on the information presented to us at this moment in time

Fergie kept saying that midfield needed to be strengthen but didn't buy anyone. We may well continue our midfield experiment. I don't mind that as long as we don't waste money buying unnecessarily for positions we don't need to (like Baines and Garay)

Like I said for years I've been proved correct about the lack of midfield signings, I don't see that changing this summer now nor do I think that's me whining. I can see the likes of yourself have taken the Thiago news badly though so won't upset you further

yeah, I agree with this, although with Moyes stating that the midfield needs attention, I'm hoping something will happen in the next few weeks, but not sure who the feck that will be

I don't think so, but him and Moyes are two different people - so that wouldn't matter regardless. Everyone knows we're poor in midfield, Moyes will know this too. When Scholes retired we still had Pogba coming through, when Pogba left we still had Scholes. On top of that Fletcher's future looks bleak and Giggs who was used in midfield quite a lot is preparing for retirement with the coaching role. We'll sign someone, we're not going into next season with two reliable CMs.

fecksake & i thought i was old at 37. Carrick at 32, whats that in non-footballer years - something like 53? He'll probably pack it in & take up a coaching role with Giggsy in next week or two!

Not never no but any targets this summer are likely to be ones Fergie identified and I believe Fergie was always holding out for a special player for the midfield so if Thiago was that player then it would take a similar talent being available for us to bring in anyone this summer. Next summer will be a different case entirely though especially depending on how the upcoming season goes.
I suppose there is still time for Moyes to bring someone in...I mean he did indentify the need for strenthening the midfield...
