Moussa Dembele

Fulham OS now saying he's currently having a medical at Spurs.

Everyone knows Dembele is a striker converted to an attacking midfielder, right?

Yes he's a good player and does put himself about but surely not what we need.

We need someone who can read a game like Carrick and be in the right place at the right time, not just a blood and thunder type.

From your post it actually sounds like we have that player. The problem is more-so who plays next to him.

Shame. You have to think this signing was a summer too early for us as he seems to tick all the right boxes, but with Anderson Cleverley, Scholes, Carrick, Giggs and possibly Fletch as well we probably wouldn't be able to accommodate them all. We will almost definitely be after someone next summer though

From Fulham's site:

"Martin also confirmed post match that the club has accepted a bid for Mousa Dembele From Tottenham Hotspur, the player is currently undergoing a medical."

Also - following on from my previous question - Fulham also have a better website than United do.

Bollocks if it's down to the medical stages then he's off to the spuds. To the <insert thread here> thread. Whichever one that may be.

Really good signing for Spurs and will work well alongside either Sandro or Parker.

No surprise we haven't been interested. We have numerous midfielders that operate in what would be his position.

In terms of the system, of a midfield 5, he would give us more options than just having Kagawa sitting just behind the frontline. It would help us control possession and the midfield more than we currently do.

This would actually mean the Clev, and Anderson won't be forced into a crazy attacking midfield role where they are not as effective as making space and finding the right forward pass as they would do. Basically Dembele will give us a better option, if we are forced to apply pressure on the opposition, we can sacrifice one of the midfielders, for Demebele, and still help us retain possession easier. His passing stats are impressive, in almost all parts of the field.

It has happened before and will happen again.

Do you not remember the Claude Berghauus deal??

Get real. If united were going to bid for him then he'd have known a long time ago. He wouldn't be rushing to a medical late at night for Spurs.

I think your assessment of him is gravely wrong. Look at the below video for evidence of just how wrong and pay special attention to the position he is holding in relation to where the rest of his central midfielders are.

He will very often play as the deepest midfielder of 3 and although he can still be pushed into an ACM or outside forward role he can also do exactly the type of screening role Carrick does for us albeit with a little less defensive skill and more offensive playmaking ability. He should even be able to play alongside Carrick

If he is going for 15mil we should be in there for him.

Are you really gloating about that?

Actually, I was responding to a poster who was gloating about Carrick and Berbatov.

Not sure why he/she was though, since Spurs weren't unhappy to receive nigh on £50m for the pair.

Far too many people are reading too much into that one game against us.

It's a fecking bizarre way to judge a player. Yes he showed great qualities and gave us problems, doesn't mean that's how he plays week in week out, or that he's what we need.

Yeah, and spurs ended up with a lot of trophies and a modern new stadium.

Oh, wait...

feck it, it's like teasing a child.
