Someone already posted that somewhere on this page.A poster from the newbies claimed that, after his (first?) stint with Chelsea, there was a newspaper in Portugal with an interview with Mourinho, in which he stated, that one of his long-term goals in football was to stay at Man Utd, like SAF, for a long time. Did anyone find anything on that? I can't seem to find it when Googling, was it just a ruse from the newbie?
Will be interesting to see what kind of pull we have in the transfer market with Mourinho at the helm.
Duncan Castles at it again
1st of June. We'll agree terms but I'm going to hazard a guess that the compexities relate to the rumoured clause in Mourinho's contract that he can't work until a certain date.
According to UK high court ruling a non-compete clause post employment is only valid up to 12 months. I don't think it would make sense for Chelsea to stipulate such clause from the day of his sacking (December 17th) to June 1st/17th or until the season ends for any competitor within the UK as there wouldn't be any realistic target club for him to join anyway which would just add an unnecessary compensation cost on top of his compensation for tearing up his then current contract.
From Jose's perspective it wouldn't make sense ruling himself out for one and a half to two seasons upon agreeing a non-compete clause, unless of course he was looking for job outside the UK. Which he probably wasn't, waiting silently for LVG to get sacked.
,
Edit: Bear in mind that his contract could be vastly different and I'm just openly speculating here.

Surely if he hasn't signed anything before the sacking of LVG he's now in a position to take the piss with his contract?
I'm sure this sounded better in your head.Mourinho : Giggsy boy, can you make the defenders play tactical training a12-b1
Giggsy : er... wtf is that boss??
Mourinho : sigh..... "goes on for 1 hour explaining to giggs the whole a1-a30, b1-b30
Giggsy : er... i don't understand boss.
Mourinho : feck it, Rui... get a12-b1
Rui Faria : ok boss, would you want a c3 with that?
