It's daunting but this is the first top tier manager we've had since Fergie so I'm actually excited rather than getting behind them because it seems the right thing to do.

Aye. Plus maybe the long build up to him getting the job means he already has his transfers lined up and ready to go in a way our previous managers haven't.

Top class manager + good transfer window would do wonders for us...

I always scoffed at the idea of Jose, I knew that he was probably the best manager around but thought he lacked class and I didn't want a manager that stuck his finger in someones eye (what about a boot in the England captains eye?) I didn't want Jose when Fergie or when Moyes was fired. I was wrong.

Good god I am glad that he is here now. This club is on its knees, Jose needs to take United by the throat and make the club do w.e he needs. No more transfer sagas to sign a backup goalkeeper, no more talk of high expectations when the goal is for 4th. And quite frankly, no more aiming for 4th.

Jose is a bastard, United were bastards under much of Fergie's reign. I want to be hated again, not laughed at.

+ just thinking about having Mourinho as manager is more interesting than watching us play under van Gaal.

Hi all, thought this a fitting occasion to post in the main forum since my promotion from the newbs...

I live in West London with a Chelsea season ticket holder, and I can tell you, they are very worried.

What a day, what a glorious day.
Good lad. Now make sure you rub it in nice when we whoop them at the Bridge.

I'm chuffed about Mourinho and all that, but Christ the Caf has gone cringeworthy

You know what the best part will be. When we go behind, we will actually see a manager pacing the touchline instead of one scribbling about some bizarre philosophy in his notepad.

We've already got a Mourinho sack watch thread and he's not even been announced yet, crackers!
