Did we hire Louis because he was available and are we doing the same here?
That .and they looked at Pep at Citeh ,Conte at Stamford Bridge and Klopp at the dippers and thought they would be left behind .Wonder what would have happened if Jose hadn't messed up. We would probably be talking about another season with LVG.

shut your mouth.

2013 - Moyes and Fellaini
2016 - Mourinho and Ibrahimovic
If the last 3 years have shown me anything or Mourinho 's last year at Chelsea, then it is that big names or big talk don't mean anything and what counts are results and performances on the pitch.

It's Jose bloody Mourinho. The most successful manager of the past decade.
Or as that Times article journalist puts it "a moderately successful one". People blinded by their personal hatred says all kinds of rubbish.

I always had the feeling that something was said to JM about the possibility of a job at OT before he left Chelsea. I wondered how much of the split was him deliberately angling for it. My mate is a Chelsea fan and when they sacked him I said then that Mourinho was OT bound.

OK! Then LvG doesn't deserve blame for underperforming players either. It's all the players.

On a serious note, is there anyone that seriously praises Rijkaard for playing Messi? Since when do we praise coaches for fielding their best options at a given position, we praise them for making their team better than the sum of their parts, we don't judge them on their lineups.
Now you are right about keeping Rashford in the team, LVG should be praised for not acting like a moron, which happens way too often in football, and selecting his best striker despite his age.

Don't know if anyone listened to talksport at about 1:15pm. Neil Curtis was on to talk about how 'United' broke the news, and was going apeshit at the hosts over it.

I heard that in the car and couldn't believe what a fit he went into! Still going on about losing weight when nobody gives a shit aswell

Good, finally you are admitting he deserves some praise for keeping him in the team.
We see managers making bizarre dicisions all the time, players who deserve to play don't always play under a lot of managers, some play a false 9, some start 6 defenders, LvG plays Young or Di Maria as strikers, so even though there were injuries he still chose Rashford. Then he kept playing him. He then took him off at halftime against Tottenham. However 3 days later at West Ham away he still started him while Mata, Young and Memphis and Rooney (albeit the latter came back from injury) started on the bench.

Yes young players still need to perform, but for this they need chances first and not every talented youth player gets enough chances from every manager.

LvG did a lot of mistakes, but he deserves top marks for Rashford.

I wasn't disputing that, I was disputing the idea that he planned to play his 5th striker. And I don't think that a manager should be praised for playing his best players.
I also don't think that players should be discriminated by their age, at 17 or 48 if you are the best player you should play but when we signed Martial I saw that the Caf had a different opinion.

Stop trying to prod fellow fans with posts like these. It's a dick move.
Specifically referred to the Times journalist. Even the doubters we have here recognize Mourinho is not just a moderately successful manager. Please read the post properly before jumping in with 'dick move' remarks.

Anyone got that video where Mourinho calls Benitez 'the fat one' lol, its from backstage when he was still in charge of Madrid on a Champs league night

Also "More as we get it?" Is he going to start describing the food Mou ordered next? feckin hell!

:nono: I'm afraid it will be the natural order of things: the softness of his bowel movement.

I was obviously referring to Ronaldo and Messi there mate.

I'm not saying Rashford couldn't playing 50 games a year between now and when he turns 20 and not go on to have a great career well into his 30's, as i have already said every player is different. But just because others have and can do it doesn't mean Rashford will definitely will or be able to do it.

For a club like United we really shouldn't be taking that risk with such a promising local talent. And anyway as good as he is i don't think he's quite ready yet for us to rely on him for an entire season.
I know you were but it nonetheless is still relevant in all the examples given, he isn't a 16 year old and there is an abundance of players to look at who have done just fine playing first team football far younger than Rashford. The point is you'll be hard pressed to find many players who started playing first team football at 19 who will relate a poor end of their career due to starting in their teens.

If he is hired tomorrow will there be a press conference soon or will it be in July like it was for Moyes

Should we be worried?

David Moyes has dropped out of the running for the Aston Villa manager's job (source: BBC Sport)

Get ready to be hired for Community Shield Cup I guess. :wenger: After that get the axe, and Mourinho takes over for the league. Mourinho's Super Cup record is not good enough, while Moyes is 100% successful. :wenger:

I think it depends on when his start date on his contract is. Moyes was hired in May but started in July. Could be the same with Mou.

Not sure where else to post this but between February 23 2002 and April 2nd 2011 Jose didn't lose a single home game at ANY of the clubs he was at.

Thinking about the removal men taking loads of packing boxes from Mourinho's London home today, he must have been sure of the appointment long enough to get a new Manchester/Cheshire-situated home sorted out in advance!
